Ellie and Ben had been going out with each other for 3 years. They met at a cafe and he saw her beautiful brown hair and her gorgeous blue eyes, it was love at first sight. Ever since then they have been inseparable. Ellie went on tour with Ben and the rest of A1.

It was Ellie’s 18th birthday and Ben woke her up with breakfast in bed. It also had a red rose on the tray. “hiya babe I thought I would bring you some breakfast” said Ben. “Thanks” said a sleepy Ellie. Ben then lay next to her. He went into the draw next to the bed and brought out a little parcel and put it on the tray. Ellie opened it to find that it was a beautiful gold heart necklace. She turned to Ben “Thank you its beautiful” and gave him a kiss. “Well hurry up with your breakfast and get ready am taking you out”

“Where?” She asked.

“Not telling but were going to make a day out of it”

Once Ellie was ready Ben took her by the hand and took her in their car.

He stopped the car in an empty car park they got out of the car. “Stop there and close your eyes” he said. She started to laugh “what do I need to close for?”

“It’s a surprise”

So she closed her eyes and Ben took her by the hand to guide her.

He stopped “You can look”

She opened her eyes to see a hot-air balloon and a man stood in front of it with a glass of wine. Ellie hugged Ben and then gave him a kiss “this is great thank you I have always wanted to go on one of these” she said.

“I know you told Paul” said Ben.

They got in the balloon and it raised from the ground.

A few hours later Ben turned to Ellie and got on one knee and said “will you marry me?”

“YES” and they both kissed. The balloon then went down and they got back in the car and went home.

The next day when they woke up the post arrived so Ellie went down to get it. Ben followed her down “This one’s for you” said Ellie. Ben opened the letter his face turned from being happy to being sad.

“What is it" said Ellie. He didn't reply “Ben Ben BEN”

He shook his head and said “am off to war”...
