“What do you mean your going tomorrow?” Shouted Ellie.

“Shouldn't they have given you some notice?” Said Christian.

“Actually I was told a few months ago and today's letter was just telling me that I needed to get everything ready for 6 o‘clock tomorrow morning” said Ben.

“Why the hell didn't you tell me sooner” Shouted Ellie.

“I didn't want to upset you” said Ben who was trying to calm Ellie down. “Upset me, what do you think I am now happy” said Ellie who was now getting ready to cry. “She’s right you know you could have told one of us at least” said Mark.

“I know and am sorry but I thought I was doing the right thing” said Ben. “I just cant bear the thought of losing you” said Ellie.

“I know and I feel the same but I will be back and we will get married and that is a promise and I never ever go back on my promises” said Ben. “You better not” said Ellie who had now stopped crying.

“I think we had better leave you two to it” said Mark who was now standing at he door. Paul and Christian then stood up and went out of the room with Mark and Ben followed them. Ben opened the front door “Just before you go can I ask you a favour?” Asked Ben.

“Sure” said Paul.

“Will you keep an out on Ellie for me?” Said Ben.

“Sure we all take it in turn to pop in to see how she’s getting on” said Mark. “Thanks I owe you" said Ben waving Mark, Paul and Christian off and then he shut the door and went back into the front room. “I just have to nip out and get my uniform” said Ben to Ellie.

“Can I come with you am not ready for you to leave me” said Ellie.

So they both put their coats on locked the door and got into the car.

On the way there they were both quite. Once they got there they both got out of the car and went into the army shop. “So what are you looking for?” Asked Ellie.

“Well I have already got the uniform we will be wearing everyday I just need a green uniform with a hat and black shoes coz I have got the boots” said Ben.

“Is this what your looking for” said Ellie pointing to a green uniform.

“Yes Id better go try it on wont be long” said Ben going into the men’s dressing room. When he came out he was still in the same clothes he was wearing when he came in with the uniform folded in his arms. “Aren't you giving me a preview?” Asked Ellie. “You can wait till the morning” said Ben.

“Spoilsport” said Ellie laughing. They went to the counter and paid for the uniform and left the store and got into the car.

“So do you feel better about me going away then” asked Ben

“No but im just having to cope” said Ellie who then faced the other way to look out the window. Ben put his hand on her knee “You'll be fine and I will come back and we can go on a holiday” said Ben.

“Whatever” said Ellie. The rest of the journey was as quite as the journey there. Once they had arrived home Ellie went straight up the stairs, “Where you off to?” Asked Ben

“Bed” she snapped.

“What's the matter?” Asked Ben.

“As if you need to ask” said Ellie

“I thought you was ok about it now” said Ben at the bottom of the stairs. “I’ll never be ok with it” she snapped who was now at the top of the stairs. Ben started to walk up the stairs and grabbed her hand softly. “Come on babe I need to do this. You understand don't you?” He said. “Do you want to know the real reason I don't want you to go apart from the fact that I love you” said Ellie

“Yes I would love to know” said Ben

“Am pregnant and I want the baby to have a dad" said Ellie who was now crying. Ben sat on the stairs “I didn't think you'd sink that low to keep me from going” said Ben

“I can’t believe you” said Ellie angrily

“What you on about” said Ben.

“I can’t believe you don't believe me” snapped Ellie

“Well when did you take the test” asked Ben

“I went to see the doctor the day before my birthday I have a picture to prove it” she said while walking into their bedroom. She then came out holding a picture. Ben got up from the stairs and took the picture from her “this is my baby” he said with a tear in his eye.

“No it’s our baby” she said and walked over to him and stroked his arm. “How far gone are you?” He said

“2 months” she said

“Why didn't you tell me?” Asked Ben

“I was looking for the right moment and I didn't know if you'd be happy about it” she said

“How could I not be happy about it” said Ben

“I don't know” said Ellie

“You do know that I want this baby but I still have to go to war” said Ben. “How can you I need you” said Ellie

“I have to and you don't need me Mark and the other guys will help you out” said Ben

“But I want you” said Ellie

“I know you do babes but its something I need to do” said Ben

“Well if you have to go you have to” said Ellie

“I do have to go” said Ben

“Ok then but you will try and write to me wont you” said Ellie

“Only if you send me some more pictures of our baby” said Ben and gave her a hug. “I love you” said Ellie looking into Ben’s eyes

“I love you too” said Ben. They both went to bed and lay into each other’s arm and fell asleep.

At 4.30 Ben got out of bed without waking Ellie up and he got ready. Then at 5 o’clock Ellie woke up “Why didn't you wake me up?” Said Ellie sleepily. “I didn't want to disturb you you looked so beautiful and peaceful” said Ben who was now wearing his green army uniform with a bag next to him with his camouflage uniform and his boots inside. Ellie then got up and got ready. They then heard a knock on the door Ben went downstairs to answer the door. It was Mark, Paul and Christian “We thought we’d send you off” said Mark “And to say sorry about yesterday” said Paul “Yeah we was out of order” said Christian.

“Its ok and I have more news that will shock ya” said Ben

“What is it” said Paul.

“Come in and I’ll get Ellie down so we can tell together” said Ben. So they all walked in the house “ELLIE” shouted Ben. Ellie came running down “what is it” asked Ellie

“The guys are here and I thought we should tell them about the baby” said an excited Ben. So they went in the room and told them their news. “Congratulations” they all said together. After a few minutes of shaking hands and kisses Ben said “ come on otherwise I’ll be late”. They all got up and went into Christian’s car. Once they got back to the airport Ben and Ellie kissed “I’ll miss you” said Ben

“Miss you to” said Ellie crying. Ben wiped her tear away

“ Don’t cry I’ll be back soon” said Ben. Ben put his hat on and walked over to the plane. Ellie ran over to Ben “I love you” said Ellie

“I love you too” and he walked off onto the plane turned round and waved and then went into the plane. Ellie cried into Marks arms. “It will be all right” said Mark. The plane took off and Ben had gone.
