~Hey Taz here, I’m back for good now and I’m writing again as well. I have a few stories already written that should be winging it’s way to you but until then have a little peak at this, some well known authors on ii will be appearing!~

Sitting on the edge of the bridge he looked down at the bubbling river below him, it flowed so carelessly, glittering in the moonlight as it made it’s way down to the resevoir. It was so god damn pretty it made him feel sick. The moon glowed behind him, tightly encased in the cloudless black sky that stretched for as far as the eye could see. He cursed it silently, pissed off with it for being so beautiful and peaceful looking; things he hadn’t been in a very long time. Something had changed in him and he wasn’t exactly sure what it was, all he knew was that he wasn’t going to be getting it back anytime soon. Sliding off the edge of the bridge onto the pavement he walked along the street and onto the fields. Lush grass bent beneath his feet whilst crickets chirped happily in the ground just adding to the perfection that was surrounding him.

A scream pierced the midnight sky, startling him out of his darkened thoughts and making him focus on the world around him.

“Please just leave me alone!” A female voice cried from somewhere to the side of him. Darting into the woodland he cursed as brambles attacked his legs, cutting them mercilessly as he jogged through them, trying to find the person who was crying out. Turning around a large oak he saw a tall man holding a girl against a tree whilst she stood there quivering slightly.

“Hey what’s going on?” He whispered, his voice being so quiet because of lack of use. “Hey what’s going on?” He repeated, his voice louder this time, making the man turn around.

“Fuck off fag this has nothing to do with you.” He looked down at his clothes and tried to think of what could have made the guy assume he was gay. Shrugging it off, deciding it wasn’t really that important at the moment he tapped the guy on the shoulder only to receive a fist to the mouth.

“I told you fuck off now get lost before I really throw down!” He picked himself up and then drew his arm back as far as he could making it look like he was going to punch him only to knee him straight in the balls. Grabbing hold of the girls wrist he pulled her from behind the man and dragged her along with him as he ran out of the woodland and onto the main city centre streets. When he felt couldn’t run anymore he stopped and eyed the girl slowly as he bent over and caught his breath. Her lip ring shone under the moonlight, illuminating her face slightly.

“What was going on just then?” He asked between gasps of breath.

“Oh Tim is just pissed because my friend owes him money and he decided to take it out on me.” She placed a hand on his stomach and brought him up to a standing position. “Thanks dude, you just saved me from a few broken ribs! Now come on lets go get something to eat, I’m starved.” Taking hold of his hand she started walking with him trailing slightly behind her. He couldn’t believe how casual she was being about this. From the look on that guys face he looked about ready to kill her never mind break a few ribs.

As they got into the town centre they paused under a street lamp and she stopped and took hold of his face.

“Your nose is bleeding. I’ll sort this out for you.” Continuing to walk she led him towards a block of apartments and then took him up the stairs of the centre block. As they reached a purple door she pulled the chain which hand been hanging from her trousers out and unlocked the door, ushering him inside with her.

“I really don’t think I should be here.” He said quietly as he followed the girl into what seemed to be a living room.

“Don’t worry…” She paused and looked confused. “What’s your name?”

“Paul, you?”

“Tara. Wait here a minute while I go get the first aid kit.” Paul sat down on the couch and played with his fingers. His nose stung like mad and his chest was still hurting from all that running he had been doing. When she returned she had a tray with her with two steaming mugs on it.

“Okay we have hot chocolate or tequila, whatever you think would be best.” She stated with a grin as she got down on her knees in front of him.

“I think I’ll go for the hot chocolate.” Paul said laughing slightly as she tipped the tequila back into the bottle.

“Alright lets see what we have here.” Opening a green box she pulled out some antiseptic wipes and rubbed all around his mouth and nose with it and then left him again to only return with a pack of frozen meat.

“Right I’m just going to touch your nose a minute to check if it’s broken okay?” He nodded and watched her carefully as she brought her hands up to his nose and touched and prodded places around his nose gingerly before handing him the pack of meat. “Keep this on there, it’s not broken but will swell if you don’t keep it cold.” He nodded as she went to her c.d. player and slipped a disc in. Quiet music flowed through the room and then a males voice started to sing. There’s a time and place for everything, there’s a reason why, certain people meet. There’s a destination for everyone, what’s the explanation when we’re done? The voice continued to sing but Paul didn’t pay attention to it as she was taking her jacket off revealing a black vest top.

“You can stay here tonight if you want.” She offered.

“I don’t think so my mu-” Paul caught himself before he mentioned his mother. There was no way he was telling a girl that he would have to ask permission off his mother before he could stay out.

“Your what?” She asked, a smirk appearing on her face.

“Uh nothing… I just, I don’t want to impose.”

“No it’s fine crash here, after all you could have saved my life tonight. Let me show you to your room.” Paul stood and followed her out of the living room and along to a room with a black door. Opening it slowly she revealed a room painted in burnt red with black carpet on the floor. A giant bed in the middle was covered in red and black satin drapes, hiding the actual sheets and pillows from view. Paul stared at her blankly, this was one of the nicest rooms he’d ever seen. Opposite the bed was a giant window with a wide windowsill that was big enough to sit on.

“If you’re not tired there’s a play station, c.d. player computer and stuff around the room just try not to be too loud I’m beat.” Hugging him briefly she grabbed some things out of a drawer and then left him alone in the room. Slipping his shoes off he opened the drapes to the bed and pulled back the rich red covers. Resting his head slowly he fell asleep with a small smile on his face, happy for the first time in a very long while.
