Annual General Body Meeting:
The Annual General Body Meeting of IIM Mumbai Chapter will be held
on August 28, 2004 at 1900 hours at Jewel of Chembur Hotel, Chembur.

AGBM agenda are
all available at the IIM Mumbai Chapter web site. Members may
contribute Rs 50/ per member and Rs 75/ per family member/guest for
the contributory dinner.

Annual Technical Meeting and National Metallurgists Day:
This years Annual Technical Meeting of IIM and the National
Metallurgists Day function will be held at God's own land, Kerala.
It will be held during November 17-19, 2004 at Trivendrum. Get all
the details from this beautifully designed site and don't miss this
grand affair.

ASM-IIM Lecture:
IIM Mumbai Chapter announces the next lecture in this series with
ASM by Dr. A. Srinivasa Rao of Naval Surface Warfare Centre, USA at
Hotel Atithi, near Santacruz airport on Monday, August 23, 2004 at
1800 hours. The topics are (i) Kinetics of Rust Removal by
Hydroxyethane Diphosphonic Acid (HEDPA) and (ii) Characterization of
Surface Film Growth During the Electrochemical Corrosion Process.
The members will get ample time to interact and discuss on the
topics with the speaker during the dinner.

ASM-IIM Technical Meetings:
A number of ASM-IIM meetings were organized during
this year. Read a listing of all the meetings organized during the
year.

Chromium depletion around sulfide
inclusions remains a mystery: Inclusions play
an important part in determining the performance of materials in
different applications. Newer aspects about inclusions are still
emerging. In this article Kamlesh Chandra and Vivekanand Kain
describe the latest on the presence of chromium depletion around
sulfide inclusions. There is still a debate raging among scientists
whether the postulated chromium depletion really exists around
sulfide inclusions in stainless steels.

Transactions of IIM. It provides you
