Only a few extra bits here. The drug tanks and tubes are made from the ubiquitous tank flamer cannister, and picture-hanging wire. The axe head is from the Warhammer character Arbaal the Undefeated, with the Khorne rune filed off. To represent the fact that it's a power axe it's had a sort of circuit diagram painted on it, with blue crackles of electricty running around. This turned out to be passable rather than effective, but at least it looks like a power axe!

Beae Barracus was born on the forge world of Milobay Secundus. He served in the Tech-Guard for five years, until his natural talent for machinery led to his indoctrination Into the Priesthood of Mars. He progressed well and became an Engineer, working mainly on starship engines. Several years later Inquisitor Toshiro docked on Milobay Secundus needing to make repairs to his ship. A team led by Barracus attended to the damage, and Toshiro was sufficiently impressed with his skills, piety and conviction to offer him employment as his personal engineer. Though reluctant to let Barracus go, the Tech-Priests of Milobay eventually decided that arguing with an Inquisitor over a single Engineer simply wasn't worth the hassle, and allowed Barracus to accompany Toshiro when he left - much to Barracus' delight. In the years since, Barracus has accompanied Toshiro, relishing the adventure and challenges of life with an Inquisitor. He doesn't often accompany Toshiro on combat missions, preferring to remain and maintain the ship, but when required his experience in the Tech-Guard makes him a fearsome combatant. His strength and determination, as well as his fondness for hitting heretics very hard with his power axe, can be a valuable asset. Notes IX: Malicant's head and Josef's pose combine to make a very angry-looking character, and that combined with the fact that he's an engineer 'inspired' me to name him after Mr. T's character from the A-Team and give him True Grit. This gives me an excuse to say things like "I ain't flyin' on no crazy warp ship, foo'!", or put "...suckah!" on the end of sentences. Which is funny. Honest. I equipped him with a power axe because they seem to be associated with the Adeptus Mechanicus in the background; his other stuff is just based on the things I glued on to the model. He's got a bionic head because of Malicant's mask, and a laser sight because of the long lens of his bionic eye (sort of a laser pointer thing for precise engineering. Or something). The injector implants with huge dosages are there because of the tank things and tubes he's got at his waist - reservoirs of drugs fed into his bloodsteam via his bionics, through those tubes. I went for Reflex because it's the nearest thing to caffeine, for those long nights fixing engines! |
