Jacob Tarkin is a Thorian member of the Ordo Hereticus, apprenticed to Inquisitor Hector Andric Orrien, a monodominant cult hunter. Tarkin was a prodigy child and ran away from his parents, stowing away on a ship headed for the Inqisition world of Talasa. Unknown to Tarkin, he'd chosen a black ship, crewed by pariahs and carrying a load of raw psykers, not yet evaluated.

Tarkin kept out of sight and was not found until he tried to filch some food from a suite if rooms belonging to Inquisitor Orrien. Orrien, after having the boy tested for psychic taint, decided to keep him on. After five years as Orrien's pack mule and information-gatherer, Tarkin was officially bestowed the rank of Interrogator.

Soon after, Orrien was crippled, caught in the path of a dark eldar destructor, a vile weapon spewing acids and poisons. Now, Orrien dwells in a rejuvenation tank, his body nourished by infusion tubes and nutrient injector. Tarkin often acts in Orrien's place, not directly saying he is Orrien, but not telling anyone he isn't.

Currently he is helping Adeptus Mechanicus Magos Orbeck track down a coven of rogue techpriests, men who turned rogue after the forge-world Urdesh was reconquered. Also, Orrien is tracking the Haemonculus Kasyek and the remnants of his Cult of Pain.

As a Thorian Inquisitor, Tarkin seeks some way of reviving the Emperor, but he has no clue as to how this might be brought about. His eyes are open, however.

Notes

Kristoffer: I don't have any pictures of Tarkin after his painting, but he is based on Covenant, with the axe hand from a Chaos Space Marine Lord and a stubber made from a boltgun. The right arm is heavily puttied up.

Tarkin is somewhere in between Acolyte and Inquisitor in power level, with weapons that are just average. In his first write up he had a power axe and plasma pistol, but this felt too cheesy, and with the new gun and axe he feels more natural, more like an undercover cult-hunter. I think I'll have to make a version without the Carapace armor (secret agent man).
