Hi. I just wanted to tell you about the best night of my life: September 6th, 2001. It's when I got to meet my idol, Ikaika Kahoano, and the rest of his band.
Alrighty, see me and Ikaika are penpals on-line, we've been talking since like last December, so we've been talking for almost a year now.
So I finally found out he'd be coming to Massachusetts, my big chance to meet him!!!!!
So I e-mailed him and told him I would be there with a sign that said "e-mail my heart" (ya know, like the britney spears song?) and he wrote back and said that was fine.
so as u all know, it was a big fashion show/concert thing... and the whole thing started at 3:30 but we didnt know what time LMNT came on, so we just knew we had to show up then.
My school ends at 2:06 (precise, aint it?!) and it takes like an hour and a half to get to the mall where we were. IT WAS WORTH IT! But we got there at like 3:20ish, so we found parking and went inside the mall.
We found the stage area, and immediately i saw MIKE! he was standing w/ a guy, who i now know as jonas (their new member, since matt quit). I rushed over to him and said "can i take a picture?!" and he said sure, and then introduced me to jonas.
He looked at my sign, and to this day i still wonder why he was laughing, but anyway, he saw my sign and laughed. i dont know if its because i had a sign that said ikaika's name on it, or because maybe ikaika told the guys to look for me...i dont know. but he saw my sign and laughed. so my mom goes "is ikaika here anywhere" and mike told us he was walking around the mall w/ malia and he was wearing a yellow shirt, so we would find him easily.
So me and my mom set out to find him. As we were approaching GMC (the vitamin store) i saw a man wearing a yellow shirt, holding a woman's hand. so i caught a glimpse of his face and i knew it was him!!!!!! i screamed really loud and he turned around and sorta rolled his eyes, the fans probably got on his nerves. after a few deep breaths ("allie, u dont want ur first meeting with him to be with u crying and hyperventilating") and i wiped my eyes and then we followed them into gmc. he heard my footsteps and turned around, and then he saw my sign, and a HUGE grin broke out on his face and he was like "hey whatsup?!" (because see, at one point, neither of us believed the other person was real - i believed he was just some poser and he believed i was someone working for the tabloids) and then he took a picture with me. and he was so sweet, he kept asking "oh did u hafta miss school for this" and i kept saying no, i only had to miss cheerleading practice, but i had already told him that i would have to.
so we left the store when i realized i never got his autograph. so we turned around and i went back in the store and im like "i hate to bother u again but can i have ur autograph" and he said sure, and he was super nice about it. so while he was signing (HE WRITES SO SLOW!) i talked 2 malia. i was like "r u still dancing" and she looked sorta uncomfortable sorta like 'why does she know im a dancer?!' (ikaika said it on mtb) but she said "um...ya!" and then my mom made a little conversation w/ ikaika and then we left.
so we set out to explore the mall some more. so we stopped in the food court and i saw these 2 girls and they saw my sign and ran up to me and said "bryan is over there at that table" so we staked ourselves next to a trashcan and watched him cuz he was on his cell phone and we didnt wanna interupt him. in the middle of his conversation i said really loudly "lets all go sit down" so we sat at the table next to his and waited. and then a few other girls had the same idea. so we were like surrounding him in the food court. so he got off his phone and we all ran up to him at once and asked for pics and autographs and he said sure so while he was signing someone else's autograph he had his back turned, i stole one of his napkins off his table! lol!
so then all of a sudden mike and jonas run up to us and go "oh my god its tom cruise! can we have ur autograph!?!?!?! oh wait...its only bryan...nevermind" and they pretend to walk away. so of course all the girls had to get pics and autographs from mike and jonas...they were so nice about it too.
and i was wearing my red abercrombie shirt that said 'love the game' on it so mike goes "what game do u love" i never answered, but i told ikaika, later, to tell mike that i said football (because im a cheerleader...how lame am i?!?!).
so then after our little meeting in the food court it was about 4:30, and we had found out the lmnt performance started at 6:40. so we made our way down to the stage and got FRONT ROW seats! no one was there yet! we just stood there the whole time, and it paid off (more about that later!). so all the kiss108 people were doing contests (i won 2 of them!) and stuff.......
then it was time for lmnt! i started an lmnt chant and everyone joined in and then a few minutes later lmnt came on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we had 2.5 rolls of film left so my mum took lots of pics. but the best was yet to come. ikaika stuck his hand out into the audience to like touch people's hands, and he touched everyone except mine, so i kept my hand out, and he put his hand out again and sorta grabbed my hand, as opposed to just touching it.
so then during "higher" bry put his mic in front of some girl's face and made her sing, so ikaika did the same for me!!!!!!!!
and then (this is the best) when they pulled 3 girls up on stage, i was waving my sign and screamin like crazy, so bryan picked me! i was a little disappointed, because ikaika is my favorite, and he knows that, but i didnt know what was coming! so i went up on stage and bryan made me say my name in front of everyone, and then mike and ikaika picked. so then bryan sang to me for like 30 seconds but as i was looking at my mom, i noticed her motioning for me to turn around. so i did, and there was ikaika! he and bry had switched!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can someone email me and tell me if the 2 outside people do this at all the concerts, or did they just do it at this one? i am tryin 2 figure out if he did that for me or if he had to...) so then ikaika was just singing to me, he put his hand out and i put my hand in his and we looked into eachother's eyes and he just sang to me. (i dont remember any of the lyrics, but my mom swears one of them wsa like "im so glad we're together now" or somethin along those lines) and then at the end of the song he hugged me and whispered in my ear "thank you allie" as if I HAD DONE THE FAVOR TO HIM!
so then we enjoyed the rest of the concert, and he kept winking and smiling in my direction and lookin at me.....god i love him! he was like goin outta his way to make me happy!
and when they threw that fake money to the audience, i caught one that ikaika threw!!!
so then after the AWESOME concert ended they had the meet n greet, and i got in like the beginning of the line. so when i got to the table ikaika signed it first and said "Allie B - thanks for being so awesome" or somethin like that. and the guys all wrote sweet messages (bryan wrote 'thanks for sitting with me"!) and then we were just talking to them (holdin up the line!!!!!!) and bryan told us about their upcoming single Juliette coming out Oct 15th. and mike was saying how awesome a fan i was, and i was like "i told my mom i wanted to drop out of school and just follow u guys around on tour, but she said no" and they laughed, and mike was like "well we're glad u could come to this one" and stuff.
so then after i got my autograph i saw JACKIE SALVUCCI waiting by the stage, just chillin! i went up to him and im like 'i dunno if u remember me, but we met at the otown concert on march 12" and hes like "at avalon" and i said yes, and he said he remembered. so then i asked for an autograph and he did, but he was so cute when he did it. cuz he like made this obvious move where he shifted his body so i couldnt see what he was writing so i couldnt peak over his shouldder, it was awesome! so then i asked for a picture, and he said sure so he bent down and put his face next to mine and took a pic!!!!!!!
i cant wait for them to come back to boston...it was so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! it was the best night of my life! wow!

You put the encounters on your site, but he lives in hoboken nj and i live in jersey city (25 min walk) i have his phone # and address(phone book) i called him once and asked for tiffany, he said "who, sorry you got the wrong number" i hung up then flipped out

Hello! My cousin and I got to see LMNT at both San Diego events in July 2001. Club Sea World was the first place we saw them perform. We think that they are really awesome performers. We got to do the "Meet & Greet" thing w/all the other fans but we were really bummed that we weren't able to talk to them. It was at the Teen People Surf 'N' Sun event that we had a chance to do what we thought we'd never get to do.
When we got to Mission Beach, we got some free stuff from Teen People and decided to put them in our car. We parked in the back of the lot so we took our time putting our stuff away. As we were walking back, my cousin and I were asking "what if" questions about LMNT and if we'd ever get a chance to bump into them. Then to our surprise I looked up(and I knew my cousin saw too)and right in front of us going to their SUV were Ikaika and Mike! My cousin and I couldn't even say anything or look at one another. We just both kept smiling at them as they looked our way.
I finally had the nerve to give a funky wave and say "Hi!" to Ikaika. I just played it cool like it was no big thing to talk to the both of them and my cousin and I just melted :) We told the both of them that we were here to watch them perform again since we saw them at Sea World. They were like "Cool!" So, we watched as they performed...did the "Meet & Greet" thing. Ikaika told us that he'd never forget us...but what are the chances of that? Anyways, both Ikaika and Mike did remember us from the parking lot.
We also got a chance to hang out w/LMNT, some of the Teen People staff, and some of the other fans. We took pictures w/each one of them - but of course we have to say that we love the Ikaika picture since we get to see his abs! Woo-hoo! We love him!@!@ He's one super-HOTTIE :)
All in all, each one of the LMNT members are extremely down-to-earth and were really nice to us and all their fans. I wish that my sis' camera that I borrowed that day didn't get stolen though. I was really upset because everything I took of their performance, of us & Bryan, and of us & Ikaika are all gone. Well, we hope to bump into them...especially Ikaika...someday when they tour again! :)

We (husband, son, daughter-in-law & I) decided to use our coupons for the typical "Welcome Breakfast" at the Outrigger Hotel in Wailea, Maui. It was January 19th. We had completed our meal and before heading out for some sightseeing, my son & I were waiting for the others to finish using the facilities.
Across from where we were, there was a hallway. I looked in that direction and couldn't believe my eyes. I kept looking until I finally thought to say "Ikaika?" I really wasn't even certain that it was him. After all, he is now living on the East coast in Hoboken, NJ. Well, he stopped and smiled. I have to tell you, this grandmother was quite charmed! He is very gracious. So is Malia. She is a dear girl. They are so perfect together. I asked them if they had gotten married yet. They both laughed and said no. Ikaika was in Hawaii with his new group to perform at the Hula bowl in Wailuku that Sunday. I heard that they were wonderful!

LMNT performed at the New York Hall of Science on January 27, 2001. It was the first Radio Disney Listening Party and the tickets were all given out by last November...but begging goes a long way sometimes? lol
So, anyway...Rhio, her friend and her niece and I ended up going. There were three other acts, one of which was actually really good. 5 guys from London called Down 2 Earth and their single is called Zoom Zoom.
Then LMNT arrives to pandemonium and they were FABULOUS! They looked very tight as a group and their dancing was eye-catching too. Even Ikaika's improved soooo much!(just joking hon! you looked real good out there!)He looked like he was having a lot of fun. When he jumped out to mingle with the first row, everyone started screaming. lol
And then when first Bryan and then Ikaika recognized me and waved, I could just feel the daggers!~ And I enjoyed every moment of it!
There was an autograph signing at the end and we got to talk with them and take some pictures too. They were as professional as they could be and made it look so easy and fun at the same time. They even sang some new songs, and serenanded a girl who was having her 18th birthday. How sweet is that? All I can say is...Just cannot wait till their single comes out!!

I went to the internet cafe in Manhattan after work to check my email. I got in line to get a drink and I noticed a guy 3 people ahead of me, and I thought he looked like Mike from Making the Band. The guy next to him turned his head and I thought, "wow, that looks like Ikaika". It took me a couple of minutes to realize it really was them! Mike was next to me while I ordered and it was so distracting I messed up my order :p Mike left about 20 minutes later, and I automatically assumed Ikaika also left. I logged off after an hour and walked to the restroom and I saw Ikaika sitting at a computer near the aisle. After I went to the restroom, I tapped Ikaika on the arm and said,"Excuse me, I hate to bother you, but is your name Ikaika?" and he said yes, and then I asked him for his autograph. He asked me for my name and how I knew who he was, and I told him I was behind him in line. He was really sweet and nice about it. I thanked him for the autograph and said it was nice to meet him, and then I left :)

Guess what guys??? Janet called Kimo, Ikaika's father, on the phone at KORL in Hawaii and got on the radio!!! She called and got to talk to Kimo for like 20 minutes and even played a game on air with the crew of the morning show. If you happened to be tuned in to the station, I'm sure you heard the whole funny episode! We even got in a plug for our website! How cool is that? By the way, Janet has been dubbed "Dudette" by KORL!

It's Monday afternoon and I'm sitting at the kitchen table when the phone rings. My husband picks it up says "yes she is just a minute" and hands me the phone, I say "hello" and the most handsome voice says "Hi Janet" I of course say "who is this" and to my extreme surprise and pleasure I hear" This is Ikaika Kahoano". After catching my breath I ask "who?" and again the amazing voice says Ikaika from LMNT. Again I stop breathing and ask "Really, you are putting me on" He says "No, it's me" The more he spoke the more I realized it had to be him. He told me Bryan gave him my number after reading an email he got about me and thought he should write to me or give me a call. And being the amazingly sweet man that he is he chose the more personal phone call.
Ladies, he really is a sweetheart. We talked as if we have been friends forever. Our conversation was easy and light and full of laughs. He has a great sense of humor. I could have talked to him forever, as it was we talked for about 45 minutes. I was in heaven. Now I can tell everyone that Ikaika is truly a wonderful man who genuinely appreciates his fans and is so grateful for their support.
The band is working hard and hope to have a label real soon. I told him I couldn't wait to hear their music and that the clip of "Good in Goodbye" that is out there on the web isn't enough. He said the song sounds much better now that it has been mixed. I told him that I guess for now I'll just have to listen to my "Fruit From the Tree" cd until I can get my hands on LMNT's stuff. He seemed genuinely touched that I had bought the cd he put together with his brothers and hoped I liked it. I said I thought it was great and wanted to hear more. And not only is he incredibly sweet he is modest too because he told me his younger brother is the one with the talent.
So to make a long story short. Keep supporting these guys they really do appreciate it and love to know they have fans out there. And the next time you hear or see someone bashing Ikaika you remember me and how one afternoon a girl got a phonecall that just made her day. And that the guy on the other end was the sweetest, most considerate, and wonderful person to take time out of his busy day to call a fan and wish her the best.
