Life Can Still Go On

    This is a story about two people who met under very unpredictable circumstances. It all starts with the birth of a boy in main land China. The boy was born on June 20^th in the year 1923. The name of this boy is Ching-Ying Hwang. He was born in to a family of military officers. He lived a happy life in the city of Shanghai. He went to school everyday and did everything he was supposed to do. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters and he was the second eldest of the family. He reached the age of 17 he joined China’s army. Ching-Ying went to basic training and then became a private. A couple of years later when Ching-Ying became a captain he met a young lady named Tu-Li Tu. Tu-Li was a daughter of an herb seller (doctor). Tu-Li was born on February 12^th in the year 1925. The first time they saw each other was like love at first sight. So then Ching-Ying and Tu-Li got married and lived in Shanghai. After being married for a year Ching-Ying got a big promotion and was promoted to colonel. After his promotion Ching-Ying and Tu-Li gave birth to their first child named Cheng-Yang. Two years later they gave birth to a baby girl named Xiao-Li. After Xiao-Li was about one year old they left Shanghai and went to Taiwan. Ching-Ying and Tu-Li lived a good life in Taiwan. Also they gave birth to 5 more children. Ching-Ying and Tu-Li stayed in Taipei for about 30 years and immigrated to the U.S. They first stayed at their daughter house in El Sobrante but then moved into an apartment in El Cerrito. After being living in the U.S. for about 3 years a tragic accident happened. Tu-Li Tu was fatally hit by a drunk driver on San Pablo Dam Road. Still Ching-Ying lives on after the tragic accident but misses the company of his wife.
