Asthma

Asthma is a chronic illness characterized by airway inflammation and increased responsiveness of the tracheobronchial tree to diverse stimuli that result in varing degree of airway obtruction

Clinical presentation : dysnea ,wheezing ,cough ,chest tightness .
A severe attack is suggested by

• distress respiratoryat rest,
• diaphoresis
• ,use of accessory respiratory muscles
• A respiratory rate greater than 28 beats/minute
• pulse greater than 110 beats/minute
• pulsus paradoxus greater than 12 mmHg
• Subcutaneous emphysema suggested an associated pneumothorax or pneumomediastinum

  Management of asthma consists of reducing chronic airway inflammation alleviating symptoms of the discovery preventin exacerbation identifying asthma triggers and associated conditions
