God looked around his garden
And saw and empty space
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw a tired face
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God's Garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew you would never
Get well on earth again
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
-----
Don't greive for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the way God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone that must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it when remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Life up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now; He set me free.

God's Loan
"I'll loan you for a little time, a child of Mine" He said.
"For you to love while he lives, and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three.
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You will have sweet memories of him for solace of your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth returns,
But there are lessons taught down there I'll want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in my search of teachers true,
And from the crowds that throng life's lanes, I've selected you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think that labor vein,
Nor hate Me if I come to call and take him back again."
I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear God, Thy will be done.
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness; we'll love him while we may.
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand."

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
So He wrapped His arms around you and whispered, "Come to me."
Through tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away,
And although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating; hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
