Questions Left Unanswered
Why, when I talked, did you not listen?
Why, when I tried to help, did you not care?
Why, when I asked, did you not answer?
Why, when I was alone, were you not there?
Why, when all along I was lonely,
Why, when all I needed was a friend,
Why, when I sat on my own,
Why, did you not give me that shoulder to lend?
Now, when I leave, why do you join me?
Now, wherever I go, why are you there?
Now, when I talk, do you listen?
Now, all of a sudden, why do you care?
It's too late to change the past,
Go back and undo what was done,
Things that cut deep are made to last,
In the end, you know you won.
Why, now you're alone and need a hand,
Why, now you cannot see,
Why, when you've searched all the land,
Why, do you come back to me?
Why, when I go, do you stay?
Why, did you leave it too late?
Why, where I stand, do you lay?
Why, were you not my mate?
But there was one who cared,
There was one I talked to,
There was one who stuck by me,
There was one who helped me through,
Now, hes been taken away,
He's gone away with the rain,
Now where I stand, he must lay,
Without him, I'm going insane!
It's strange to lose the one,
The one who was ALWAYS there,
The one who put others first,
The one you could count on to care.
He was my friend, not you,
When I needed a mate,
You were too late,
But he WAS ALWAYS TRUE!
