Feb28-2009--Shabaz sharif lashed out at teh PCO judges and said they had murdered the judiciary...while appointing judges thru movements and politics is a difficult exercise the lesson should be that such judges be appointed who dont become zardarized...teh government too fell into teh trap as they thought that while their own political victimisation was wrong and they could use the courts and teh NRO to benefit themselves they refused to do that for their political opponents thus becoming the agents of political victimisation...
Feb28-2009--The government in an effort to ward off further riots very quickly tried to take teh issue to parliament...the PPP seems tobe a bit dumb as they use the national assembly to ward off problem situations but are not willing to give the legislators the power to solve issues in confrontation, politics , economics or teh constitution.....it will now be go zardari go...many suggest...

Feb27-2009--The PMLn protests continued with car burnings as protests in rawalpindi shifted to the islamabad expressway with shops remaining closed...Nawaz Sharif continued to up teh ante and mocked zardari as he said shahbaz sharif is still chief minister and that teh same type of martial law courts had earlier sentenced him and still allowed his exile and he too did not pay any heed to the exile agreements just as zardari refuses to implement personal agreements with him...he seemed to suggest or playup teh difference between the zardari courts paving teh way for his rule and the negative actions against teh punjabi brothers...!nawaz stressed that he would like teh police and beaurocracy not to obey the orders of the illegal administration...possibilities of forward blocks in teh PPP making the rounds too as teh PMlq forward block said they would support nawaz sharif...that leaves the possibility of the PPP forming a minority government in the punjab or various PPP MPa's becong chief ministers for small periods to avoid taking a vote of confidence...zardari quickly brought back the dictatorial method of his appointing the chief minister...?Yusuf raza gilani seemed to be in a dual dummy role professing that every PPP member including zardari were behaving independently without consulting him...yusuf who was a zia ul haq minister is said to have a soft spot for the PMLn..

Feb27-2009--shops remained closed for the second day running as various protests continued thruout punjab...the emerging situation/protests ie if the PMLn can remain on the streets and unsettle the Zardari group which many say has taken the PPP hostage...nawaz sharif says the protestors that damaged benazirs memorial were not his partymen...?The PPP seems unable to answer the PMln attacks as the actions taken by Zardari and Taseer seem to have been pre planned...nawaz sharif castigated Zardari saying he wanted deals without implementation...many suggest that the teh SC judges seemed tobe from teh seraiki and sindh areas..nawaz sharif castigated the judges for removing the graduation condition and giving other decisions favoring the military...suggesting that teh SC was literally Zardari controlled...one finds it difficult to accept iftikhar chaudhries contention that SC decisions which cause mass protests are usually wrong...the musharaf SC gave numerous wrong decisions which were never mass protested...it however is clear that courts that attempt to kill popular leaders are guilty of a crime akin to murder..one hopes the PPP will not sit with those that killed zulfikar ali bhutto, murtaza and benazir...!...no major reasons for teh decision have been given and teh court was just playing with feelings of teh sharifs and obviously the people...in the end it said that it had no jurisdiction and teh complainants were not directly affected...teh judges many say were acting in bad faith..the judges disallowed teh sharifs from elections and holding public office...showing that they were behind teh decision zardari and taseer took control off the province even before any failure of the constitutional process could occurr...nawaz sharif said that shahbaz was the constitutional chief minister as a new chief secretary and police chief took charge...the new chief secretary is from bahawalpur as is one of teh SC judges and who else...?while pakistans dummy primeminister has litte power left under his belt he still was praised by nawaz sharif even though teh people even in teh PPP regard him as a useless dummy with little or no instincts to rule or benefit teh people...teh common direction is that the PPP and teh PMLq could form a possible coalition with other small groups in the punjab possibly with a small forward block from the pMLn...The PMLn unless it mounts a strong running street protest would be run into teh ground by its adversarial PMLq/PPP...the other option being that they quickly bring in a younger leadership that can keep the party together and upset the PPP into harsh anti PMLn measures...The PPP hopes that its rhetoric will be enough to counter teh PMLn's anti Zardari campaign and that its main opposition in the punjab will be finally marginalized...in the hopes of corralling teh PMLq the punjab provisional administration quickly ordered the reempowerment and release of funds of the local governments as teh PPP alone is literally not enough to counter the PMLn...!! whether peopel who referred to the PMLq as teh qatil league will be able to sit with it remains tobe seen...many suggest that benazir is now politically dead and kursi ki siyasat is back in power...while kiyani many say would not personally like to take over there there are many generals ready todo so if they are COAS...kiyani many say would lose face if the PPP came to power in punjab with a rainbow cobbled coalition and would have to either do the needful or step aside for a new military regime...?...the PPP should avoid looking like a dictators lookalike and not allow democracy to be crushed after supposedly being teh party for sacrifices and democracy...
Feb26-2009--things got out of hand as protests erupted across many cities of punjab..in rawalpindi the city was covered with burnt tyre dust as people ventured out in the evening with police watching suspiciously..all shops had closed early to avoid trouble...banks and shops were said to have been attacked with two deaths reported...a train was also reportedly set on fire...governor rule was applied for two months as even teh PMlq forward block moved towards the PMLn while the PMLq slithered towards teh PPP...the PMLn called an assembly session and lambasted teh zardari-governor clique...teh PMLn said that the next chief minister would still be from their party and nawaz sharif said that teh court decision would soon be reversed...The pMLn meet tommorrow to decide strategy as on the street planning for tommorrows demos started to take shape...people on all sides are worried about teh governments dictatorial instincts in matters economic and political...governor rule was seen as the only method to bring the PPP to power in punjab by breaking teh pMLn in two...the PMLn think they can get a chief minister elected and did not worry about the governor and his meddling...theoretically the governor should have convened the provincial assembly to elect a new chief minister...
Feb26-2009--while teh US is obviously duped into believing that elements in pakistans Fata could in anyway mount an attack on the USA there seems a strange aberration in US policy based many think on their indian and afghan friends rather than reality...while they try to forge relationships with teh afghan taleban they oppose pakistan doing so with militants in its own country...eg. the holbrooke statement that only 5% taleban are hardcore militants...he also has a misconception about the pakistan army...ie it looks back to past wars rather than new ones...pakistan army has done well in dealing with entrenched militants despite no real training in guerrilla tactics...however the pakistan armies experience in dealing with past insurgencies is much greater than that of the US army...in pakistan they have dealt with substantial insurgencies in fata, balochistan, east pakistan, karachi and nwfp...though not always successful they have been more successful now than in the past when they hid their actions and reasons from the people...their operations in waziristan, bajaur and swat have been able to subdue militants to an extent that even they are interested in a peaceful approach...if teh US and india are not willing to support the first pakistani priority of dealing with problems inside pakistan they will hardly be interested in helping countries that are not willing to help out even the US like india...countries that hide behind allegations and are not willing to participate wherever there is any real threat of a fight...teh US also needs to consider the destabilizing actions followed by india and afghanistan viz pakistan...and there downright refusal to continue negotiations on kashmir...
Feb26-2009--India indicts 35 pakistanis and two indians in the bombay incidents...they also say that even a major general is implicated but they donot know whether it is a military man or guerrilla..initially they had said that a colonel trained them..than they said lakhvi trained them..usually trainers are non commissioned officers and not colonels and major generals......the inconsistencies in indian information are enormous and they seem to have made up a lot of the details...

Feb26-2009--The supreme court in what many say is a continuation of the musharaf doctrine of suppressing major politicians from power and politics declared shahbaz sharif and nawaz sharif ineligible tobe elected literally destroying national reconciliation...The government quickly attempted to deny responsibility for teh decision but the PPP hand is clearly visible...demonstrators emerged on teh streets in a relatively peaceful manner..the PMLq associated kamran lashari who apparently does not get food at home and developed literally terrible food streets was quickly appointed chief secretary punjab as javed mahmood had brought punjab to a standstill..in islamabad kamran lashari showed an ability on a small scale to use available funds for multiple projects some of which like underpasses complicated life......while a new PMLn chief minister should be on teh cards a minority PMLq chief minister or in coalition could be an interim measure...shabaz sharif was not very successful in this stint and he seemed to lack teh energy necessary and there was no over all development system for the punjab...punjab was just dragging along as the most neglected province in teh zardari scheme of things...
Feb25-2009--In swat militants declared an indefinite ceasefire..they still asked NGO's to leave swat and asked armywalas to have limited rations...?they said militant attacks would stop and the army should not reinforce its troops...barring upper parts of swat...kabal, charbagh and matta...life started to return to normal with children starting to enjoy school
Feb25-2009--Richard Holbrooke seemed to reiterate that he had gone over to teh indian side...he conveniently ignored teh dark side of indian intentions in teh region and said that they would not leave teh region like they did in vietnam and iran and continue like europe, japan and south korea...he harped on the meaningless small amounts of aid that teh US gives and reiterated that they would continue playing regional countries against pakistan to suppress pakistan into a subjugated nation...without any evidence he said that attacks from pakistan on afghanistan continued and that teh ISI would be questioned onits relationship with militants...like pakistan he misinterpreted the reasoning of teh bombay attacks...and conveniently forgot that the indians only backed out from attacking pakistan out of fright and weakness and not due to any reasoning or nicety... Zardari who everybody now knows is just another cog in teh pakistani wheel will not be able to help teh US if their negativeness continues...

Feb21-2009--The US administration unable to take a unified stand on anything say some...Richard Holbrooke who many say has been influenced by teh indian-karzai nexus came out strongly against teh swat agreement calling it a surrender even though the swat militancy is directed at mainly teh pakistan government...even though no main agreement has been signed with zardari there exists a tacit understanding with the insurgents in waziristan and now in swat and malakand...the main agreement has been signed between teh provincial government and the malakands TNSM...swat and malakand are theoretically different from Fata as they are not directly related to teh americans in afghanistan...in swat and malakand the main focus has not been the americans but the teh american funded or some say controlled pakistani regime and army/police/politicians...many have already said that if teh zardari-gilani government is duped by teh indian-US-afghan nexus than there will be no end in sight to teh fighting and insurgencies...while india and teh US want peace in their territories they are unwilling to have teh same policy for pakistan...in fact they want pakistan to do more for peace in india rather than in pakistan..pakistan should tell them tobe specific and that they dont want to hear their do more polemics anymore.....however Bill gates said a similar agreement might be acceptable in afghanistan where american forces are threatened...pakistan may be dragging teh US into discussions into how it is dealing with swat which is a different matter altogether from afghanistan-fata...Holbrooke many suggest maybe shifting his focus to the indian agenda against pakistan rather than dealing with teh afghan-pakistan border situation...
