Dalhousie University
University Avenue
| Location of my Geac Library User's conference (supported by NovaNet). This was my first (and, to date, last) business trip. Dalhousie has a pleasant campus to tromp around on.
|
Hotel Halifax
1649 Hollis Street
| Now: Radisson Halifax Hotel. Connected to the internal skywalk system, so you never have to go outdoors in the winter. Delightfully gourmet restaurant downstairs and a work-out room, complete with lap pool, hot tub and sauna. I spoiled myself rotten here.
|
Kaya Books
1093 Barrington Street
| Rare books shop just off the skywalk system. I'm indebted to Kaya Books for providing me with a copy of Ray Bradbury's "The Silver Locusts" (an alternate name for the Martian Chronicles).
|
Urban Sound Exchange
Barrington Street
| Now: CD-Plus. Spent several hours here during my visit. Unfortunately, I don't buy CDs unless they have three songs that I like on them (cheap bastard). Ended up with a copy of Billy Idol's Whiplash Smile.
