The Standard of the American Bantam Association for the Gray Silkie requires the male Silkie to have a dark gray head. The neck, hackle and saddle should be light gray streaked with darker gray. The back, wings, body and tail should be an even shade of chinchilla gray. In the female Silkie, the head, back, wings, body and tail should be an even shade of chinchilla gray while the hackle should be light gray streaked with darker gray. The undercolor of both male and female should be a smoky gray of a shade lighter that the top color.
