| INP - Evolution Ilayangudi Nesavu Pattadai was founded during AD 1553 unifying the people of Ilayangudi base on their trade. PAVADI is located in the down town of the city used to be the main trade center of this Jamath and textile weaving was their major trade. The profound sage of that time, SEHAPPA OWLIA was awarded a bounty, a piece of land from Pandiya King Sadasivarayar during AD 1553 near Public Water Tank of the town to perform daily prayers. The Sage built a Stage (Medai) on that land and people offered their prayers in that Medai, hence the old INP Mosque is still called as THOZHUGAI MEDAI PALLIVASAL.
During AD 1816 the present INP Thozhugaimedai Pallivasal structure was constructed and it underwent renovation during AD 1930 and 1978. This mosque is the oldest existing mosque in Ilayangudi and second oldest in the town after the first mosque in the settlement area which is no more existing.
Later, during early eighties, due to the increased member of public and to have a peaceful location to offer prayers, a Grand Mosque at Singarathoppu Complex was constructed and called SINGARATHOPPU JUMA MAJID. Thus, INP Trust manages two big mosques in the town.
INP delivered number of Scholars, Wise men, Trade men, Professionals, Poets, Government Officials, Army Captions and what not... in all folds of life. Their presence were recorded in all continents in various fields. Their educational qualifications and business vision forced quiet a few of them to migrate to metropolis. However, their contacts with their home town and jamath are still intact. |
| INP - Trustees It is a pride for any jamath member to get elected as Trustee. Trust administration and mosque property management constitutes prime responsibility of the Trustee. Apart from that he commands the ruling of overall administration of jamath. Trustees are elected among the jamath members by its members through election held once in three years. The basic qualification for voting for jamath members are that he should be a married man. The history of INP Trustees are engraved with Islamic living, dignity, respect, vision and justice, During pre independence, the verdict of trustee given from singarathopu kalmedai, were unanimously approved by court in paramakkudi. | INP - Institutions INP Trust runs number of institutions to benefit the jamath and the overall society. The primary institutions are as follows: Arabic Madarasa (Located in the singarathoppu complex in Thenmalaikhan Madura Kavi Patcha Pulavar Memorial Building) - This Madarasa teaches Holy Quran reading among the children during the morning hours. The existence of this madarasa since early 1970's encourages Holy Quran reciting among the public. INPT Metriculation School - This school came to existence since early 1990's to improve the standard of education in the primary level with the Islamic faith. This school is functioning in the buildings donated by Vavanan. Dr.V.N.A. Sultan Ahamed (USA) and Thenmalaikhan. T.Kaznavi. INP Library - This library is functioning inside the Singarathoppu Mosque complex. There number of Islamic weekly, monthly, daily are available to improve the knowledge. |
INP Contributions INP Jamath contributions to the town is enormous after they started business in Rangoon, Penang & Singapore during 19th century onwards. The notable contributions are as follows: Rahmaniya School built by Kalifa family during 1914. Women & Children Hospital in the memory of Late. P.N.Packeer Rawoother built by P.N.P.Jainulabdeen & Bros during 1939. Ilayangudi Higher Scondary School built by Late. K.S.M.Sultan Alaudeen and his Sons during 1945. Very first building of Dr.Zakir Hussain College donated by Late. V.M. Peer Mohamed during 1970. Islamic Art Galary built by Late. T.K.Hameed Sultan in the college complex during 1974. Ayisha Siddiquea Mosque in the college complex donated by Haji. Abdul Aziz (Singapore) during 1995. Water Tank in the school complex donated by Dr. V.N.A.Sultan Ahamed (USA) in the memory of his father Late. V.N.Abdul Lateef during 1994. Zoology Lab in the school complex donated by Mr. T.A.Mansoor Rahim (Germany) in the memory of his father Late. T.R.Abdul Razak (Sodakadai Manthiri) during 1997.
