Mysticism comes from the Greek word mystikos, which means pertaining to secret rites. These rites are the essence in how to reach illumination, or as Buddhists say, nirvana. Though I know not how Buddhists manage to reach their Nirvana, aside from actual classes they attend, I know how Christians may reach this phenomenon. Buddhists received their knowledge from the ancestors of the earliest Christians from the area of Caucasia, the source of mysticism going back to and before the Pharaohs reliance on mystics.
Albert Einsteins adoration and idolization of mysticism has been a source of confusion to me for many years cause I can't wholly see him as a mystic. His dazzling conclusions and discoveries have proven themselves except for his Unified Field Theory, which supposedly links the microcosm with the microcosm. Till today no one has been able to prove this theory.
As a high school dropout and a mystic, I immediately had a gut feeling that rhythm is the missing link here but I know not the style or fashion.
Our C.I.A., always eager to have a leg up, have been trying to "illuminate" a person by using drugs, which may be impossible to accomplish as goodness is lacking, not to mention one can't commune with God or a Higher Power by being high on drugs. Countless citizens have been maimed by the full forward blunders of our C.I.A.
Actual mystics avoid America like the plague mainly cause of materialism and media control of the populace. Americans overwhelmingly do feel the evidence of spirituality and religion.
Native Americans, like the C.I.A. do try to reach the Higher Power by various drugs but one can't reach that height by using drugs.
Moses was finally able to reach illumination after years and years of mentoring by mystics.
Hopeful mystics of Islam are actually afraid to reach illumination for fear of erroneous disrespect by their peers.
Fredericd Lenz, author of two best sellers re nirvana, "Surfing The Himalayas" and "Snowboarding To Nirvana", contrary to popular notions, never said he reached nirvana and If one reads those books again you'll see what I mean.
Deepok Chopra who has authored a book about connecting to God and makes lectures a part of his 'thing', has obviously never reached "Nothingness", which is the Hindu and older version of nirvana. A good 30 or 40 % of what he speaks is valid. Shirley Maclaine, who never claims much, is on the proper focus especially when she emphasizes the solitary confinement necessary for spirituality. Folks way out on some unconnecting limb are Liz Taylor, Madonna, Roseanne, and Steve Seagal.
Cults around Hollywood who profess to use the Kaballah as their lure are just that, cults, as the Kaballah is mere superstition, tea-leaf reading, horoscopes, and which have absolutely nothing to do with mysticism. I'd like to add that it's fitting the Kaballah is used in Hollywood cause the Kaballah is a "catch 22 on a comet" and is and has been a Press Agents dream of confusion galore but sells.
Mysticism is more often learned in caves or on isolated mountain tops. Though there is a college course called theosophy in some colleges and Tibetans go to classes in the field or classrooms, the necessary conditions must include isolation while fasting will bring about this miracle surer and quicker, if one is destined or lucky enough to get there.
I have found none on the Web yet who has reached illumination but feel confident that America does have true mystics somewhere but possibly in the closet, as I have been for too many years. Though there are good sites about mysticism, particularly Madame Blavatsky, sites by Professors and folks with all kinds of degrees do not cut the mustard.
My credentials are over 4 years in solitary but instinctively fasted seriously along with a rebellious attitude to unlearn most of all what the media cripples society for their own aims, mainly power and money.
