objectives
Our primary objective is that the child
will grow in all ways as a God-pleasing individual, guided by the home, the
school, and the church. Although the child is a single, unified being, for
convenience sake, the primary objective is divided into four parts:
THE CHILD WILL GROW IN HIS RELATIONSHIP
WITH GOD
1. The
child will develop a growing knowledge of the Triune God, and will be able to
express this knowledge orally or in writing.
2. The
child will develop a growing trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior form
sin, and will turn to Him in repentance, asking for forgiveness.
3. The
child will develop an increasingly worshipful, sanctified life, and will show by
improved church attendance, Bible study, and prayer life.
4. The
child will develop an increased ability and desire to make moral, ethical, and
other real-life decisions.
5. The child
will increasingly trust in God for all wants and needs, whether they are
spiritual, physical, material, intellectual, emotional, social, aesthetic, or of
nature or government, and will also increasingly thank God for all blessings
received, and will make this thankfulness evident in word and action.
THE CHILD WILL GROW IN RELATIONSHIP TO
HIMSELF
1. The
child will develop good stewardship of all his talents and abilities, and will
show this by working at least approximately equivalent to his ability as
indicated in test results.
2. The
child will develop logical, scientific, and creative thinking habits, gain
knowledge and communication skills, and acquire significant elements of his
cultural heritage to the extent that he can compare favorably in test results
with other students of similar age and grade level.
3.
The child will understand his emotions and what affects them, and will control
them through trusts in Christ and with the help of the Holy Spirit.
4. The
child will develop an understanding of his body and how it works, will
appreciate it as a gift of God, and will increasingly accept responsibility for
its health, safety, and recreation.
5. The
child will speak and act appreciatively of the beauties of nature and the fine
arts, and will have the ability to express himself creatively in different fine
art media.
THE CHILD WILL GROW IN HIS RELATIONSHIP
WITH OTHERS
1. The
child will recognize all people to be God's creation and will by word and action
show love, forgiveness, respect, courtesy, cooperation, and consideration toward
all them.
2.
The child will be concerned for the spiritual welfare of everyone and will show
this concern by communicating to others by word and action his knowledge of
God's saving grace and by supporting through word and action the mission
endeavors of the church.
3.
The child will be concerned of the material welfare of everyone and will show
this concern by supporting genuine welfare activities through word and action.
4.
The child will respect parents as God's representatives, and will appreciate
privilege and responsibilities as a member of the family. He will also
make these feelings evident by word and action.
5.
The child will respect government as God-ordained, be aware of its purpose and
structure, and accept and fulfill his privileges and responsibilities as a
Christian citizen on the local, state, national and world levels.
THE CHILD WILL GROW IN HIS RELATIONSHIP
WITH NATURE
1. The
child will increasingly see and appreciate nature of God's creation, and will
therefore also use God's gift of nature as a way that would glorify God and
serve all people.
