Geography Club Meeting

Alright are you ready for another installment of Geography Club minutes???
Here goes.

-If you think you are interested in GTU, talk to Dr. Hammel or Prof.
Schlemper by Feb. 14.  Schlemper has registration forms.  April 1, is the
due date for GTU requirements.

-We are planning a bowling outing so we can brush up on our bowling skills
to use against geology!

-Geography Club membership for the semester is $5.00.  If you are getting
into GTU, that is $35.00 of which 5 is used for Geography Club.

-The Bent Elementary School Environmental Club is getting underway soon.
Volunteer help is needed and counts towards GTU volunteer hours.  This
semester the kids are grades 3-4, and will run Feb. 4-Mar. 18, on Tuesdays
315-415.

-Marc says, "T-shirts are on the way."

-IGS (Illinois Geographical Society) is having a conference in beauitful
Quincy, IL on Sat. Apr. 26.  If you are interested in giving a paper talk,
poster, or just want to go.  See Dr. Sublett.

-At our next meeting we will be discussing fund raising.  Bring your ideas!

-Next meeting is next Friday, Jan. 31.  Same bat time (1pm) same bat channel
(Felmely Cart. lab)

-Also, if Friday at 1pm does not work well for you.  Email me back
(dadodso@ilstu.edu) and let me know when times are good for you.  We want to
find a good time that suits us all.

-Last but certainly not least, check out the pup the Hammel/Schlemper family

shall his name be?

Finally, what do geographers grow in their gardens?  Give up?  Compass
roses.
