Greetings in St. La Salle!

For the past 17 years, The Political Science Society of De La Salle University has served as the vanguard of truth and justice as far as political issues are concerned. Throughout these historic years of national struggles and triumphs, the Society has constantly championed the will of the people. We have served as a resounding voice of the youth in La Salle when it comes to socio-political issues.

The year 2001 has been a witness to major historic events in Philippine Politics. We have witnessed Asia’s first ever impeachment trial against the chief executive of a country. We have also experienced 2 major civilian uprisings in a span of 4 months, one of which ultimately led to the ouster of a Philippine President. We have also served as a spectator to one of the most hotly contested national and local elections in the country that not only caused unnecessary deaths but also created a rift between the rich and the poor.

These monumental events have somehow altered the youths’ views towards the government and politics in general. These events made them take an active stance in the national community, thus paving the way for a politically mature generation.

In light of these recent developments in the country, the Society is once again tasked to promote socio-political awareness amongst the youth, particularly the students of De La Salle University. These are indeed very interesting times, and thus it serves as a perfect opportunity for the Political Science Society to mould the youth and develop them in becoming critical thinkers. We also aim to encourage them to participate actively in socio-political events in our homeland, and to inculcate a sense of pride and nationalism towards our country.

In the next 10 months we will strive to give our members quality activities that will enhance their political awareness and maturity. We will provide venues for them to gain added knowledge and experience on the different aspects of politics. We hope that by the end of the school year, we would have equipped our members with the tools needed to handle every political issue that would come their way.

This is the goal of our organization. To produce leaders that will revolutionize the way we see the government, to be THE FUTURE of Philippine Politics.

The Annual Recruitment Week gave the officers the chance to promote the organization to Political Science and Development Studies Majors.

The results of the ARW were very noteworthy, being one of the highest in membership recruitment among the C8 Organizations, with a membership of two hundred fifty.
