Background of the Organization

The Political Science Society (POLISCY) is a politically inclined organization for Political Science Studies majors, and other students interested in the events transpiring within the Philippine political environment. It is a non-profit student organization under the Council of Student Organizations of De La Salle University. POLISCY aims to develop awareness on and involvement in the socio-political events in our society by involving its members in relevant activities, in the hopes of developing a group of socially and politically aware and vigilant students from its members.

In the organization's aspiration to cultivate critical minds, vigilant Filipino citizens, and active participants, the POLISCY leadership felt that they had to find a means by which to make sure that dialogue on current socio-political affairs and related events is maintained. More importantly, the officers of the organization wanted to find a way to communicate with members, especially in disseminating important announcements, and in responding to organization or activity related concerns of the members. With little resources to pay for regular meetings with or for facilitating dialogues among members during the school week the officers of POLISCY needed a practical and inexpensive solution.
