| Saturday mornings, if you happen to be awake, in the UK used to suck to an incredible degree once Zoé and Jamie left Live and Kicking, until one morning everyone woke up to a new wave of television. Cleverly entitled 'Hangover TV', this new televisual craze swept the nation, young and old alike were no longer worried about being bored if they were up at the ungodly hour of ten am. SM:TV Live was the first show of this genre. Others had come before it but all had failed miserabley to be THIS good! Ant, Dec and Cat are the presenters mixing comedy with music and interviews. So far I have seen them take the mick out of pretty much every tv show (Friends became chums for example), they poke fun at bands (they did an amazing impression of Atmoic Kitten a few weeks back LMAO at that!). But the best thing they did was Big Brother parody Big Idiot. The house contained only the three of them. They each took on a role of someone in the actual Big Brother house (Ant became hat wearing Bubble, Dec became guitar strumming Dean and Cat donned the orange blanket and became ever irritating Amma). The parody also featured the voice of Big Brother (called Big Idiot), with a twist! Every time housemates were called to the diary room it was to take the piss out of someone else and once they were finished talking to Big Idiot they were made to leave in a comical and stupid way. For example Dec was asked to leave as a camp chimp! Other things included a big bear and a posh horse. Conversations featured on Big Idiot included one about Thomas The Tank Engine and a heated debate between Ant and Dec about whether the Teletubbie, Dipsy, was red or blue. As with Big Brother the housemates were asked to nominate each other for eviction and keeping in theme with the comedy stylings of the show the reasons were humerous (instead of ones like 'I didn't gel with him/her aswell as I do with other people' as featured in Big Brother). Cat came to the diary room and when asked her nominations she said "I'd like to nominate Ant" when asked her reason she replied "he's not the most annoying person in the world... but he's damn close" Dec nominated Ant, and when asked his reason he replied "Cat promised to show me her bra if I voted for Ant, friendships count as nothing when theres the chance of seeing a woman's sprout pouch". Ant nominated Dec and when asked why living in the Big Idiot house was worse than living in the Chums house (in the parody Chums the three share a flat) Ant replied "In the Chums house Dec and I don't have to share a bed", Big Idiot swiftly repied "You don't have to share a bed in the Big Idiot house either Ant". The spoof ended in true Big Brother nominations week style with the phone numbers to evict Cat, Ant and Dec. Finally another number came up allowing you to evict all three. If you rang the number you were informed it was only a joke and told to hang up... not that I tried it or anything haha *ahem* |
