The following are pictures taken in and around Anjar, the site of an old castle built by the khalifah Al-Walid more than a thousand years ago in the foot of the anti-Lebanon mountains in the Bekaa Valley. The influence of the Roman architecture, which is present all over the region, can be clearly seen in the ruined columns and temples.
