Jay Gruska is a well known musician in the television industry. He has often provided the background score for shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, CHARMED and many more. However Gruska is probably most commonly known for his work on Lois and Clark The New Adventures of Superman.
Over the four seasons, which the show ran, Gruska's music was a compliment to the shows great acting and technical effects. The soundtrack to the show consists entirely of instrumental pieces, all of which instantly transport any FoLC back to a moment in LNC history.
Most of the famous pieces (minus the 'sub theme') feature on the album, including my sentimental favorite "Superman Says Goodbye". It's from the episode "Big Girls Don't Fly", and features as Superman says goodbye to his loved ones on earth and heads for New Krypton.
FoLCs can reminisce with tracks such as "Lois and Clark Courting", "The Final Proposal, "Lois and Clark's New Home" and have a little fun listening to "Clark's Salsa"- AKA the music in "Lucky Leon" when CK and LL are frantically preparing for their first REAL date together.
Of course the *** "Main Title Theme" *** is included, along with an extended mix in which Jay gets carried away for over 5 minutes!
Its an all purpose CD- good to relax with, listen to when driving, sleep to, as background music for studying and just generally good for around the house or even when surfing the net.
If I had to rate the CD I would give it 10 out of 10!
You can order the CD from: or
Or you may be able to order it in at your local CD store.
The only proof I can offer you that this CD is worth buying is my word and the fact that the show has been off air for four years now and it's STILL selling!
"It is difficult to express just how important music is to the feel and textures of a film or television show. Try watching a scary movie with the sound down. It's not very scary, is it? Music is essential in creating drama, suspense, humor, heroism, love and virtually any other emotion known to mankind. Actors and Directors depend upon talented musicians to help them get their message across to millions of viewers. Fortunately for Superman, Jay Gruska's outstanding musical score helped the Man of Steel be a hero, a son, a comedian, a lover, and without a doubt this music helped Superman fly!" -DEAN CAIN
