Congratulations to Kid Rock, Sugar Ray, Brandy , and Aaliyah, all of whom were nominated for MTV Video Music Awards! Kid Rock was nominated for the Best New Artist and Best Rock Video moonmen for "Bawitdaba," from his platinum-smash "DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE." Brandy's "Almost Doesn't Count," from "NEVER SAY NEVER," got a nod in the Best R&B Video category, while Sugar Ray's "Every Morning," from "14:59," was nominated for Best Group Video. Aaliyah, meanwhile, received nominations in both the Best R&B Video and Best Video From A Film categories for "Are You That Somebody?" from "DR. DOOLITTLE: THE ALBUM." The nomineees were announced this morning by Chris Rock, Carson Daly, and Ricky Martin during a press conference at New York City's famed Lincoln Center. The 1999 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on Thursday, September 9, 1999 -- that's 9.9.99 if you didn't notice -- at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City -- stay tuned to the Atlantic site for further details as they arrive, and once again, congratulations and good luck to Kid Rock, Sugar Ray, Brandy, and Aaliyah!!
