Proud to be Pro-Life

You know, used to be, people would talk about abortion and I would nod my head and play like I understood what in the world they were talking about. It really wasn't until I saw the actual Faces of Abortion that I really understood.

My mom once had a video with pictures of babies that had been aborted, this was when the only abortion talked about was the early abortion. This is the one where the "doctor" injects a saline solution into the blood stream of the baby and the baby burns (similar to an acid burn) from the inside out. Now, I thought that was pretty bad, but again, I didn't pay much mind.

I've known people in my life who've had abortions, but they don't like to discuss it much (I wonder why), and once I wrote a report in school about abortion, but I didn't think that there was much I could do about it. At that time I don't guess I was either pro-choice or pro-life.

So, then one day, I'm playing on the computer and I pull up this web site. It says "Do not go here if you are squeamish, these pictures are real, and they are very graphic" (Ok, that's probably not exactly what it said, but that's what I got from it.) and I thought "Well, why not?" Curiousity DOES kill the cat, in case you're wondering. What I saw on those pages, were not pretend pictures. They were not "other peoples problem". They were not unknown or disregarded. These were real babies. Children.

I finished looking at the pictures, I did not throw up, I did not cry. I went and I looked at my babies. I had my son at a very young age. Not so young by today's standards of having babies, but young enough. It was a hard time for me. I considered adoption, but I never once considered abortion. I can't tell you why I didn't consider abortion, I just didn't. I sucked it up, I worked my butt off, and I did what I had to do to keep my baby. And I am so glad I did.

There are many reasons why I am pro-life. First and foremost, I believe that the "choice" comes in choosing whether or not to have sex. I believe that is where the choice ends.

I am appalled that our society has changed so much that now it is considered a burden to have children. That our nation feels that it has the right to take a life in order to "save" another. And the sad thing is, I don't see any "saving" being done. Who are we saving? Certainly not ourselves. We have conned ourselves into believing that it is okay to kill. Somehow, I don't think that if you told that to the victims of the people in jail for murder that they would understand.

We, as a society, are so selfish now, that instead of thinking of the people around us, we take a situation and work it only to the best of OUR advantage and not the best of those around us.

As a mother, I find it hard to raise my children about these standards. The age old "golden rule" still applies to us. We "Do unto others as we would have those do unto us". I was raised that way, and so shall they be.

Please, lets join together and stop the maiming of our innocent children.

Did you know:

There is an abortion performed every 23 seconds in the United States?

That's over 3,000 a day.

Or, over 1.5 MILLION a year.

Here are some other awesome pro-life websites. Some have graphic photographs. Some people say "I can't stand to look at them."

If you can't stand the sight of the pictures, then why do you stand for abortion?

The page I mentioned in my writing above "Faces Of Abortion" contains very graphic photographs. I have taken the link off this page so as not to encourage any children that might be viewing my site, to visit this link. If you want the address to "Faces of Abortion", please e-mail me and I will be glad to send it to you. The other sites listed here are not graphic in content.
