Sindarin 'noble elf'
Death c. FA 330

Noldorin Elf, youngest child and only daughter of Fingolfin. She returned to Middle-earth with the Exiles and dwelt with her brother Turgon in Nevrast and Gondolin. About FA 300 she grew restless in Gondolin and left to fisit the sons of Fëanor, who had been her friends in Eldamar. She was separated from her companions in Nan Dungortheb and given up for dead, but in fact she survived to be seduced by and wed to Eöl of Nan Elmoth.
Aredhel bore Eöl a son, Maeglin, who at length, desiring to be established as the heir of Turgon, persuaded her to flee from Nan Elmoth. Eöl followed them to Gondolin, and in the quarrel before the throne of Turgon, Aredhel was slain by a poisoned dart when she protected Maeglin with her body from the wrath of Eöl.
Aredhel was tall, had dark hair and a pale complexion, and wore only silver and white. For this reason she was called Aredhel the White and Ar-Feiniel, the White Lady of the Noldor or of Gondolin. She liked to ride and hunt.
