Elda, son of Elrond and Celebrķan and identical twin brother of Elrohir. With his brother he rescued Celebrķan from an Orc-hold in TA 2509, and ever after the brothers rode against the Orcs with the Rangers to avenge their mother's torment. During the War of the Ring Elladan and Elrohir rode south with Halbarad, and accompanied Aragorn from Rohan to the Morannon. Because of their Elven-wisdom and the counsel they had received from their father before setting forth, Elladan and Elrohir were resent at the Councils of the Lords of the West, and may themselves have been numbered among the Lords.
Elladan and Elrohir remained in Imladris well into the Fourth Age, and since they did not accompany Elrond over Sea they seem to have chosen to become mortal.
