Eldarin lord of great power, probably of the House of Finarfin. At the time of WR (War of the Ring) Glorfindel seems to have been the second most important Elf, after Elrond, in Rivendell. Glorfindel led the Elvish force that helped rout Angmar in Battle of Fornost in TA 1975. In 3018 he met and protected Frodo and his companions on their way to Rivendell, and he fought the Nazgūl at the Ford of Bruinen.
Glorfindel's horse was the great white steed Asfaloth.
