One of the ambassadors chosen by Oromë to visit Valinor and encourage the Eldar to undertake the Great Journey, Ingwë became King of the Vanyar and led his people quickly to the West. In Aman he dwelt first in Tirion and later at the feet of Manwë upon Taniquetil, and was named High King of the Elves. Revered by all Elves, he never returned to Middle-earth. |
