Sindarin Elf of Doriath, chief captain of Thingol. Mablung participated in many of the great deeds of Beleriand. He joined in the Hunting of the Wolf; he fought with the host of Fingon in the Union of Maedhros and the Nirnaeth Arnoediad; he was present at the tragic end of the lives of Nienor and Túrin. Mablung died defending the Nauglamír during the Dwarves' sack of Menegroth.
He was known as Mablung of the Heavy Hand.
