| Quenya 'steadfast' Elf of Gondolin, son of Aranwë. Voronwë sailed on the last ship which Turgon sent West to seek aid from the Valar. While returning in 496 to announce its failure to penetrate the Shadowy Seas, his ship foundered off the coast of Nevrast. Saved by Ulmo, Voronwë was the only survivor. He was cast ashore at Vinyamar, where he met Tuor, whom he brought to Gondolin. |
