Chapter 9
Vegeta and Bulma were sitting on top of a small hill, watching the sun rise from the mountains.
"Vegeta, do you think we have a great future ahead of us when this is all over?" Bulma asked
while resting her head on his shoulder.
"How should I know? Do I look like a fortune teller, woman?!"
"Here you go again... Vegeta, please, tell me what you think."
"I don't know, only time will tell."
Jean then called out from the house. "Bulma!" she cried worriedly.
"I'll see what granny wants and then I'll be back," Bulma told her Prince. Bulma got up and ran
back to the house. As she got in the house, Jean immediately closed the door and shut the
windows. "What is it grandma?"
"Your father called -- "
"Really?! What did he say?"
"He phoned from the airport, he said he's coming here for the wedding. He should be here in a
few minutes."
"WHAT?!!! But... but... but I'm not ready yet and Vegeta is here. What are we going to do? I
don't want to marry someone I don't love."
"I don't know. I wasn't expecting your father to come this early."
"Man, Vegeta is right, there's no hope for us after all." Tears began to form in Bulma's eyes. "I
was a fool to believe something will turn up. Maybe the two of us were not meant for each
other," she sobbed.
"Don't lose hope now, something will turn up. It's not over until it's over." Jean gave her
granddaughter a hug to comfort her.
Little did they know that Vegeta was eavesdropping from a window and heard everything. Yes,
everything, every single detail. He looked at his fists and clenched them. "There's no hope after
all, I guess I was a fool too." Vegeta looked at Bulma one more time. He wanted to go in the
house and say goodbye but if her father saw him in there, she would just get in more trouble. He
didn't want that, Bulma is already in a lot of trouble. "Goodbye Bulma, I'll never forget you," he
said mentally and took to the air.
Bulma got a hold of herself and stopped crying. Jean gave her a kleenex to wipe her tears away.
"Thanks grandma," she sniffed. "I'll go outside for a second and tell Vegeta about the situation."
"Fine dear. I hope he takes it well."
Bulma went to the hill but found that Vegeta wasn't there. She checked the lake and there was no
sign of him there either. "VEGETA!" she called out, her voice echoing throughout the country.
She didn't get any response. "Where is he? He can't leave me just like this." Bulma went back to
the front of the house. As she was just about to enter, Dr. Briefs arrived in a capsule car. "Oh
no, it's dad!" she gasped.
Dr. Briefs stepped out the car and ran to Bulma. "So, have you made up your mind? Are you
going to marry Mr. Burns' son?" he asked coldly.
"Yes," she sighed.
"Good, the wedding is in two days. You'll have a wonderful husband." Jean then came. "Oh, hi
Ma."
"Hi to you too. Say, when and where is the wedding going to be?"
"This place would be perfect. The ceremony and party would take place in the backyard. I think
we better start working on the wedding."
"Yeah, that would be great..." Bulma said sarcastically.
"I'll phone your mom to help us and start inviting everyone." Dr. Briefs went inside the house and
started phoning everyone.
"I guess it's over now, dad has won," Bulma sniffed and a single tear ran down her cheek.
"I'm so sorry it turned out this way," Jean apologized and hugged Bulma.

Two days later:
The day soon came, the wedding ceremony was about to begin. Everyone was there, the Briefs,
the Burns, their other business associates, friends, but not the Z gang. "I wonder where Gokou
and the gang are?" Bulma asked herself while waiting for the flower girls to finish walking all the
way to the altar.
"Bulma, it's time to go," Dr. Briefs told her as the flower girls finished.
"Oh, okay." The two marched all the way to the altar. Bulma sat in front of the altar with the
groom and was starting to get more nervous than she already is.
"In the name of the father and of the son..." the priest started.
