Chapter 10

Vegeta was sparring with himself in a meadow, the same meadow where Bulma took him the

other day. He's been training himself intensely for the past two days, trying to get Bulma out of

his mind. No matter how hard he tried or how hard he concentrated, he just can't forget about

her. Giving in to his emotions, he collapsed on the ground and looked at the sky. "Bulma..." he

uttered. "I bet she married that human by now. I can't believe I lost her like that. If there was

something I could do... but what could I have done?" he asked himself mentally. Vegeta got up

from the ground and began to spar with himself again.

Little did Vegeta know that someone was watching him from a bush. "There he is," the person

thought to himself and moved some branches out of his way to get a full view of the Saiyan

Prince.

Vegeta heard the rustling sound from the person and stopped his training. He looked around to

see if anyone else was in the meadow. "It was probably just a rodent." He was about to resume

his training but saw something shine behind a bush. "Ahh, it wasn't a rodent after all," he

chuckled and walked over to the bush. He looked behind it and found Dr. Briefs. His heart was

soon filled with contempt and hatred as he looked at the eyes of the man that took away his loved

one. "Oh, it's just you. What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be at your daughter's

wedding?"

"Bulma... hostage... ransom...." Dr. Briefs stammered.

"Take it easy human. I'm not going to hurt you. Now tell me, what happened to her?"

Dr. Briefs took a big breath first and then spoke. "Well, the wedding was about to start and then

three masked men with guns out of nowhere appeared. They took everyone in the wedding as

hostages and they're demanding ransom from me and Burns."

"Humph, that's what you get for being so wealthy. You're a magnet for criminals. Anyway, what

are you doing here then?"

"They let me go so I can get their money. I fled here to get some help and then I found you.

Vegeta, please, you have to help tell me."

"Me help you? Why trust me now human?"

"You're the only person I can find right now."

"Wasn't Kakarott there, everyone's favourite hero, to rescue your daughter?"

"Gokou and his friends weren't there, you're my only hope."

"Ahh, Kakarott wasn't there, huh? Now you have to trust the blood thirsty Vegeta the Saiyan

Prince that can never be trusted since no one else is around to help."

"I know I've been rude to you these past few weeks... so I'm sorry."

Vegeta has been longing for him to say that to him and he was proud of himself that he got to

squeeze out those words from him. Besides, he loved it when people are begging for him.

"Okay, I'll help you."

"Oh, thank you very -- "

"I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing it for her."

Bulma, Mrs. Briefs, and the Burns were all huddled together at the corner of the altar. They were

all petrified, couldn't move a muscle since one of the men was pointing a gun straight at them.

Sensing fear from his hostages, the man chuckled to himself. His chuckle sent shivers down to all

the hostages' spines and their heart beats increased tenfold. "Can't you do anything Harvey?"

Bulma asked her suppose-to-be-husband with a bit of annoyance in her voice.

"No way, look at the size of these guys and the guns they're packing." Harvey turned to his dad

and looked at him hopelessly. "Dad, I'm scared, how are we going to get out this?"

"Don't worry son, we'll be free as soon as Briefs brings their money and then everything will be all

right."

"What a coward!!! He's worse than Oolong!!! Man, if Vegeta was here, he'd kick these guys'

asses before they knew what hit them," Bulma told herself and glared at her cowardly groom.

High above in the sky, Vegeta was surveying the area below him. He carefully analyzed the place;

where the hostages were, where the bad guys were; one was guarding the crowd, one was

guarding the front of the house, and the last one was guarding Bulma, and finally he analyzed if

his plan was going to work. He reviewed all of the possible outcomes of his plan again and

concluded that it should work perfectly. "This plan should work if that old man does his part

correctly."

Dr. Briefs stepped up to the man that was guarding the front door. "I'm here," he told him.

"Where's the money?!" the man demanded, gripping Dr. Briefs' tuxedo's collar.

"Hey pal, pick someone your own size," Vegeta hissed at the man from behind. To his surprise,

the man dropped Dr. Briefs and turned around to face Vegeta. Vegeta quickly grabbed his neck

and twisted it, killing his "opponent" instantly. "Time for phase two, you know your part."

"Right," Dr. Briefs nodded and ran to the backyard. "I'm back and I got the money!" he yelled as

he got there.

"All right! We're free!" Harvey laughed.

"Shut up you little wimp!" the man that was guarding him snarled. "Where's the money pops?!"

"It's in my car."

"Hey Scott, follow this guy to his car and go get the money," he said to his partner that was

guarding the rest of the people in the wedding. Dr. Briefs took Scott to the front and as soon as

he got there, Vegeta lunged at him from behind, knocking him down to the ground. He then

quickly reached for his neck and broke it just like what he did to his partner.

After ten minutes of waiting for Scott, Rob, the last of the terrorists decided to check on the two

since they haven't returned and neither have Dr. Briefs. "Stay here," he told his hostages with a

growl and left.

"This is our chance to get out of here," Bulma said to her fellow hostages.

"Didn't you hear what the guy said? He said to stay here. He'll probably kill you if he catches you

sneaking out," Harvey replied with a whine.

"Oh my God, WHAT A COWARD! I'll kill him if he doesn't quit his whining!" Bulma groaned to

herself with a snarl.

"Where did those two go?" Rob asked himself as he got to the front of the house. "What the hell

is this?!" he hissed as he saw his partners laying on the ground.

Vegeta quickly appeared behind him and grabbed his neck, breaking it just like what he did to his

other victims. He then threw the three into the air and fired a Big Bang Attack at them,

incinerating every single atom in their bodies. "That plan was so simple that nothing went

wrong," Vegeta told Dr. Briefs, who was hiding behind a bush. Little did Vegeta know that

everyone was watching him from behind when he killed the three. Harvey fainted at the sight of

violence while Bulma ran to Vegeta and gave him a tight hug.

"Vegeta, you came back!" she cried happily.

"Your father found me and asked me to help you. Well, I guess I better get going and you can

get on with your wedding."

"Hold it! There's too much trouble here for Harvey to take. Briefs, the deal is off," Mr. Burns

said. He went to his limo while his servants carried his son to it and drove away.

"Great, the wedding can't go on without a groom," Dr. Briefs groaned.

"Already found one dad," Bulma told him.

"Oh no, you don't mean -- "

"Have a heart, Vegeta just saved all of us. Besides, aren't you going to be relieved that Bulma

would be with someone who's willing to risk his life for her than a man with a cowardly yellow

stripe?" Jean scolded.

"I guess so, it IS the right thing to do, right? So, young man, will you marry my daughter?"

"Yeah Vegeta, will you marry me?" Bulma asked the Saiyan Prince.

"If that's what you want," Vegeta answered with a smirk.

"I see that everything is fine now. Let's get the ceremony started then," the priest suggested.

Everyone then went back to the backyard.

*** (Okay, let's fast forward things a bit here and get to the good part ^^)

"Do you Bulma Briefs, take this man as your husband, to love him and honour him, in richer and

poorer, in sickness and health, from now and until death do you part?" the priest questioned

Bulma.

"I do," her voice was trembling.

"And do you Vegeta, take this woman as your wife, to love her and protect her, in richer and

poorer, in sickness and health, from now and until death do you part?" the priest asked Vegeta.

"I do," Vegeta’s voice was clear and firm. The priest gave him a gold ring. Vegeta took the ring

in his hand, with the other, he took Bulma's hand and put the ring in her finger, "With this ring... I

thee wed," He said slowly, looking into Bulma’s eyes.

"With this ring I thee wed," Bulma said while putting the ring on Vegeta’s finger.

The priest pronounced them man and wife. "You may now kiss the bride," the old priest smiled

to them when he consecrated their union.

Vegeta lifted Bulma's veil. He wasn't too tall but he was taller than Bulma. He looked at her face

for a long while. Bulma has been waiting for this moment for so long. She has fantasized about

it, although she haven't told anyone. Her eyes were filled with tears, tears of longing and tears of

joy. Vegeta wiped her tears away and then he slanted his face over to hers and kissed her. After

he kissed her, he scooped up Bulma and ran to end of the backyard and blasted to the sky.

"We're late!" Chichi told the gang as they got to the backyard. "Hey, where's Bulma?" She then

looked up in the sky and found Bulma in Vegeta's arms. "Well, what do you know, she did get

together with Vegeta after all," she thought. "Hey Bulma! Good luck!" she cried happily to her

friend while waving good bye.
