Lifeless and Lonely

I tried to tell myself that you were worth it
But I figured out that your were worthless
Lifeless and Lonely
You told me that we would always stay
But those were all lies
Lifeless and Lonely
And now you wish to come back
But I have to question that…
Lifeless and Lonely
“ I don’t know what to do about him, Chichi,” said Bulma as she sipped tea calmly. She took a small cookie from the China plate and placed it in her mouth. She chewed it slowly as she watched Chichi look at her with worry. Bulma smiled at the silence around her and her friend, thinking that this was the first time in weeks that there was silence anywhere.
“ Nani? What’s the problem?” asked Chichi, breaking the silence. She ate a cookie herself, while watching Bulma sip her tea and eat. Bulma closed her eyes and wished that there were such a thing as that now that she is living with good ol’ Vegeta. She looked back at her friend who busily stood up around the kitchen, drying plates and washing them.
“ That’s the problem, I don’t know. He constantly trains at a speed in that gravity room that makes me worry. What if he blows it up and he gets hurt?” asked Bulma. “ Lately, he has trapped himself in there, not eating, just training. And when he comes out, a fight just has to be struck up between us. It’s like a freaking chain reaction.”
“ Try to talk to him civilly then,” said Chichi as she worked. “ Why are you so worried anyway? You have Yamucha, and Vegeta doesn’t like to be worried about.” Finishing, she walked to Bulma and sat in front of her friend.
“ Are you feeling something for him that I know nothing of?” she asked mysteriously. Bulma looked at her friend with absolute shock before smiling heartily and shaking her head. Putting the plate in the sink, she looked back at Chichi with another smile as she thought about it.
“ Yeah. I’m feeling that if I don’t go to my house right now, there won’t be one. And I broke up with Yamucha a long time ago.” Rushing out the door, Bulma waved at Chichi. Smiling to herself, Chichi knew that Bulma felt something. Hatred, love: she didn’t know.
I look at my broken body and wonder
What the hell is going on?
Lifeless and Lonely
I look at you now and see you beautiful
Wonder what you will do
Lifeless and Lonely
Beauty becomes you, but what of the truth?
The truth is that I love you, but I’ll question that…
Lifeless and Lonely
Bulma parked the car in the garage and rushed out. She stepped into the house and locked the door behind her with a small smile. She shook her head and smiled at the thought of what Chichi had asked her. She rushed to the kitchen and sat down in a large, white stool and opened the novel she was reading. Opening it, she went to the fridge and got a small bottle of Coke. Opening that, she headed back to the book. Nothing could disturb her now.
He turned of the gravity room and walked out feeling a bit sick and hungry. Tiredness and pain all struck him at the same time as he staggered into the kitchen. He saw Bulma there, looking up at him hopefully and cheerfully. He moved forward and sat at one of the chairs.
“ Hey, you okay? Need something to drink?” asked Bulma in a worried voice. She stood up from her chair and walked up to him. His eyes were tired and wanted sleep, the perfect angles of his face slumped in shame, and his perfect body sagged of tiredness. He felt cool hands touch his forehead before grabbing one of them. He knew they were Bulma’s, but he didn’t wish to let go. He was too tired for that.
“ Hey, are you all right? Vegeta? Vegeta?” she asked with worry. Taking her hand from his, she touched his forehead. It was slightly burning, and she was afraid it would become a fever. Moving to the sink, she filled a cup with water and placed it to his lips. He didn’t drink; instead he pushed away from it.
“ Come on, please? For me?” she asked of him. His eyes were slowly closing, but he drank her water. His vision was blurring out, but he could hear Bulma. He felt like he was being pushed up and walking, and he could feel her moving with him. He walked a little more, before feeling like he was lying down, and his boots being taken off.
“ Sleep. You need it,” was the last thing he heard before he closed his eyes and slept dreamily.
You wish for so many things that I can’t give
But I feel for you just the same
Lifeless and Lonely
Believe me, there is something for you there…
Vegeta woke up and tried to stand up, but Bulma’s fragile hands were pushing him down. He fought once more, but a wave of heat hit him hard. He went back down quickly and Bulma gasped silently. He looked around, and noticed he was in a large white room, with a vanity table and mirror, chairs, and some toys. He looked over at Bulma who was holding a bowl of something that he could smell. Her eyes focused on him, and for a brief second, Bulma saw confusion in the alien’s eyes.
“ You’re in my room. Here, eat this.” She took a silver spoon from behind her and dipped it in the bowl. Soon the spoon was coming to his mouth. She put it to his lips and he smelled it. Before he could protest, the liquid went down his mouth without a word. He shook his head from side to side, as if trying to get something out. Bulma put the bowl down on a small table and put her left hand on his forehead. Taking the other, she put his hands in hers and soothed him down. He closed his eyes to let the wave of pain go by, and he looked up to see her face. Taking her hand off his forehead, she started feeding him soup again. He hungrily ate it, and she smiled at him when he glanced up to look at her.
“ More,” he said after the bowl was done. She nodded and ran down the stairs and came back up with more soup. He ate that, and after seven or so helpings, he wanted no more.
“Drink this,” she said in a low whisper as put a small cup to his lap. Picking up the back of his head, she pushed him to drink it. He did, and she put the cup back down. She stood from her seat and placed her hand on his forehead. Shaking her head, she stared down at his black eyes.
“ You are engrossing yourself with this Goku thing,” she said slowly. He turned his head away.
“ It is only the proper thing to do when in my position,” he said icily. She took her hand of his forehead and he felt a hand under his chin. It took his head and made him face her. She moved so close to him that her hair brushed against his neck.
“ Yeah, but not eating won’t help. And trust me, you have the biggest appetite that could eat me out of house and home. Eat so you don’t get stuck with me nursing you.” She removed her hand from his chin and went back to her chair. He was now able to sit up, and when he did, she smiled.
“ I see your energy is coming back,” she said while smiling.
“ Naturally,” was the only thing he said. His voice was cold and harsh, like that of a cruel prince. She shrugged her shoulders and began to move around the room, putting her toys in place and picking up her blocks from long ago.
“ These things, what do you call them?” he said while he picked up a teddy bear and examined it with question. Bulma looked at him and smiled. She walked up to him and took the toy away.
“ We call them teddy bears,” she said as she slowly put the bow back in place.
“ And what is their purpose?” he asked with interest. She looked at him and smiled brightly before chuckling wisely.
“ They keep you company when you are alone, and are good to talk to.”
“ They speak?” he asked. Bulma laughed now as she shook her head.
“ No, you use your imagination. But sometimes, you can just keep them as decoration. All depends on what you like.” She arranged her room in order and while her back was turned, he slowly got out of bed and flexed his muscles. She turned around and saw him starting to walk away. Picking up her old stuffed monster, she ran after him.
“ Hey!” she shouted as he walked away. He turned around and looked at her coldly.
“ Nani?” he asked while she ran up to him. Handing him her old stuffed toy, he looked at it quizzically.
“ I think you need it,” she said. The stuffed toy was a small green body with spiked red hair, little pants, and a shirt that read, “ Love Me?” He handed back to her, saying he didn’t need it. She pushed it to his chest and he looked down at her hands feeling his chest. Thank Kame for gravity rooms and bodies, she thought as she momentarily felt his muscular chest.
“ You are so lonely,” she said as she moved up to him. He moved his head away from her look as she approached with the doll. “ Take it as a gift from a friend.” At this, he whipped his head to look at her. Giving a sheepish grin, she moved back and looked away.
“ You consider me your friend?” he asked harshly. She nodded, avoiding his piercing gaze. But I wish you considered me more, he thought bitterly. He looked at the green monster he held before smirking. She saw him smirk and she lightened up.
“ I’ve lived with you for a while, fought with you, talked to you; that is basically a friend. And hell, you are always here if you’re not flying off to some unknown place.” He walked up to her and searched her with his gaze. She held it faithfully and with that, she searched him, too. He walked back from seeing her and then he crossed his arms and smirked.
“ Stupid woman,” he whispered sarcastically. Her face became rough with those words and she approached him.
I see that you will never be my dream
I know that you will fail to see what I hold for thee
Lifeless and Lonely
I know now that you are mine
Admit it, I am
Lifeless and Lonely
I don’t want to say that you were mine
And that all the love that I had for you was lost…
“ Is that all you can say after I nurse and give you a nice gift?” she whispered on the verge of tears. He uncrossed his arms and smiled unknowingly.
“ Why do you always cry?” he asked annoyed. She looked up at him before flailing her arms and the air and sighing with exasperation.
“ I don’t know,” she began to say without looking at him. “ It’s a way of showing emotional pain without killing the person,” she explained at last. Vegeta turned her around and peered at her. A smirk crossed his face.
“ Why do you feel pain now?” he asked softly, almost gently. He held her shoulders and she tried to squirm out, but his grip was hard. She twisted her head not to answer.
“ Why?” he asked again, but with irritation. She kept her face hidden, but she had to answer.
“ A person that I care for deeply has hurt me. And I love this person very much.” She squirmed out of his grip, just as he loosened it in shock. The woman he lived with had fallen for him? He had to admit he did too, but that was a long time back. He decided to tease her.
“ And does this person—“ He couldn’t finish. He soon felt soft lips upon his, but nothing more. Soon, the other person’s tongue gently opened his lips to ravish his oral cavity. He stumbled back, but he didn’t let go. He hugged her waist as he closed his eyes and he leaned back against the Capsule Corps. hallway walls. Her tongue was powerful and heat flushed her face. She wasn’t afraid to win this competition; he hadn’t a kiss in long time. Their noses touched in unison as their heads were opposite from each other. Her arms were twined in his powerful neck as her knees soon began to collapse. Taking one hand, Vegeta held her up with support. His eyes were closed and he savored her, as she did him. Her hair touched his face gently as they parted each gasping for breath. She held her chest and didn’t dare looked at his shocked face. He was against the wall, looking straight at her with a look of sheer pleasure.
“ Tasty,” he commented as he walked up to her. She was against the wall, looking at the ceiling, before escaping to the kitchen.
“ No way you’re going to leave here without me winning,” he said as he rushed down the stairs to the kitchen.
Now I see that you were always there
I never gave up on you my darling,
Because you were always there.
No more loneliness, no more lifeless
Bulma was in the kitchen, splashing cold water on her face. She had actually admitted she loved him and then kissed him. Him! The guy who almost killed her best friend, Goku, but melted her heart. She heard slow footsteps descend from the stairs and white boots stare at her. And there he was the love of her life: Vegeta. A cruel man with powerful intentions and heartless mercy, but she loved him. She looked back to the sink of cool water as he walked down the stairs.
“ You don’t think you can run away from me after that, did you?” he asked while he approached her.
“ A mistake,” she lied out. “ A simple mistake of humanly impulse.” She splashed more water on her face. The coolness calmed her, but his eyes didn’t.
“ And your powerful declaration of love?” he asked with pleasure. She whirled around and stared into his coal-black eyes without moving. “ Was that another mistake? Or was it the simple truth?” he seductively whispered as he circled her. She closed her eyes and faced the ground. She could feel him circle her; his heat and body movements were so familiar to her. She soon felt him in back of her and stopped. As her eyes were downcast, she saw his boots near her tennis shoes. Taking her waist, he made her face him.
“ What was it, woman?” he asked in a whisper as he pushed her to him slowly. “ Well? It is not good to make me wait. I have training to do.” She just stared into his eyes now and she nodded her head confidently. He made a face that said:
“ Well, good.” Soon enough, her heart began beating as he kissed her this time.
It wasn’t gentle, but it had a rough manner that made her melt. It was gruff and understandable, but she knew so well. Once again, she circled his strong neck and he grabbed her waist possessively. A small moan of pleasure escaped her mouth as he stopped kissing her and bit her bottom lip teasingly. She smiled while their lips were still together, but he held her still. She broke the kiss abruptly as she heard a crow.
“ Quite self-conscious, ne?” he asked in a low growl. She looked at him, but he still held her. She turned around in his arms and faced the stairs. Gently taking his hands form her waist; she rubbed then soothingly while he smiled behind her. Nuzzling her neck, he chuckled amusingly.
“ Who would think that you and I are actually in my kitchen doing this?” she said amusingly.
“ Are you sure it has to be in your kitchen?” he asked slyly. She turned to face him, before kissing his again more deeply.
“ Yes. Just wait, all in good time.” He seemed disappointed, but she looked at him and kissed his nose. He pushed her closer and stared into her eyes.
“ Who would think that such a fragile and beautiful thing as this human could tame me?” he asked her. She smiled, and agreed.
“ I tamed you all right, and in only a few months. I must have some deep charm that I know nothing of, but—“ she was interrupted as she was picked up and moved up the stairs.
“ I have waited long enough in the kitchen,” Vegeta declared as he moved up the stairs. “ Too long.”
