Genevieve "Cirrus" Ebersole is very good at a few things (IE: looking pretty, making conversation) and not so good at others (IE: logic, general intelligence). In fact, she's not suited to the task of leading anyone (except maybe a well-behaved group of toddlers). She's sweet and forgiving up to a fault, and very passive when it comes down to it.
Her appearance is nowhere near deceiving - she has a gentle, warm air to her, and a sweet smile to match her personality. She's tiny, only an inch or so over five foot, with a small-boned but feminine frame and an equally fine-boned face which boasts bright, clear green eyes fringed in very long lashes. Her hair is a glossy black and hangs in chin-length ringlets which never seem to fall out of place. Her skin is generally pale, except for the light spattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Cirrus' mouth is heart-shaped and almost always pursed nervously, if her slender fingers aren't tapping against her lips. She's very pretty in the girl-next-door sense, but never uses it to her advantage, and it's hard to say whether she's aware of it or not. Alright, that's going a little far. If you were cute and you knew it, you'd probably use it from time to time. *grins*
Genevieve was born in Maine, in a quaint little town near the water, so different from New York that the city still overwhelms her. When she was eight, her mother suddenly...died. She didn't witness the suicide (Gen, that is), but still, it's made a lasting impact on her. Almost immediately afterwards, she and her brother Mike (her senior by six years) were given enough money to make it to the city, and were supposed to start school in the fall of '99. Needless to say, the plans fell through after Mike gambled away every penny of their money on the train ride. Before she knew it, her once idolized brother was abusive, manipulative, cold, and heartless - and she couldn't believe it. And she couldn't leave - after all, he was her brother - and so she stayed with him and endured and obeyed.
December of 1901 was fast approaching when Cirrus finally moved out of her brother's apartment, broken and battered and sick of it all. She ended up in South of Houston, drowning her sorrows in a cup of tea in the Four Kitchens Restaurant, when Quicksilver Campanella found her. The rest, as they say, is history. *grins*
Currently, Cir's not exactly a newsie. She's engaged and basically sits around all day, trying to help out her girls. *grins* I'm working on the engaged thing, trust me. Cir's closest friends include Chapter Brandt, who is now married and living in Colorado, and Polar Brandt, although Cirrus is really in fearful awe of Polar half the time. Her 22 year old deadbeat of a brother was very first on her list of fears, followed close behind by hospitals, and violence. Recently, her brother's been in and out of the city and isn't causing her much trouble, which is all well and good until something sparks him off again. Her fiancé, Sean Hewitt, is a 29 year old lawyer from her hometown. Unfortunately for him, Cir probably still harbors some secret feelings for Trouble Jacobi, but he's a long and complicated story. *laughs* Anyway...
Hiya. I'm Imp. Of course, I wasn't born as that, but - hey, you don't need to know my life story, or my real name. If you're really interested in it, it's Natalie. *waves* Anyway. You can call me pretty much whatever you want, as long as it can be said in a PG movie. *grins* But you can't call me cute. *eyes Ver suspiciously*
Currently, I live in CA, in a (stuck up rich) town in the East Bay, which is...duh...by San Francisco. Yes, I talk like a valley girl. A typical sentence between me and my friends would be: "Omigod, she didn't like actually go out with him? He's like totally trippy...and not in like a good sense or anything like that. I guess he's kinda hot but not like really that good looking or like anything." No, trust me, I'm not kidding at all. *grins* Next year, I'll be a junior...yay upperclassmen! I'm sixteen, having just turned on May 30th, and I shop religiously. At least once a week, more if I can get away with it. I'm learning how to drive, so if you're ever on 580, watch yourself. Right now I'm spouting off random facts that you probably don't care about. Quick, write that down.
My family is your typical suburban type deal. I'm the oldest, I have a 13 year old brother who's absoulely hilarious, and a rather bratty 8 year old sister. My dad works for a software company; my mom takes care of us. We have two cats (I hate dogs, but I love cats) who I really adore to pieces. I love having pets. *grins*
Since school's out for the summer, I guess I can talk about something else besides school. I love to party (and hard, but...I don't drive, so it's okay) and I love people. I'm usually pretty loud but I'm smart enough not to offend lots of people all at once. *coughs* Anyway...I work as a Sports and Rec camp counselor, which is basically watching 40-odd kids from 5-13 five days a week. I love my work, actually. Not because I like kids, either... *thinks* Okay, I'm also fairly boy-crazy, but whatever. I'm taking a class over the summer, and it's really boring, and I thought I'd share my pain with all of y'all. *smirks* On a different subject...I love 'Friends', 'Saturday Night Live', 'Daria', and tons and tons of cartoons. Especially Dexter's Lab; that show just cracks me up. (Also: my fragmented sentences are intentional. Nobody talks in complete sentences anymore. No, okay, that's a lame excuse, I'm just too lazy to make real sentences.) Anyhowdy. The only kinds of music I don't listen to are country, and all that classical/jazz/old people crap. *grins* Some of my favorite bands are Deftones, Oasis, Everclear, Oleander, Plumb, Fuel, Incubus, Foo Fighters, Our Lady Peace, and Papa Roach.
The only other thing I do constantly (that would be aside from shopping), as much as I can, is talk. Or chat. Or write. Which, if you think about it, which I know you can, are all pretty much the same thing. *grins* But...yeah. I love people. I love the Newsieverse, I love the characters in it, but mostly I loe the people. *hugs her friends* And I love creating new characters (see the enormous list), and writing, and...I don't like this paragraph because it's redundant. Okay. What else?
I like to think I'm pretty easy-going. In reality, of course, I'm just a wimp. *grins* I don't like fighting and I completely avoid getting mixed up in arguments, if I can help it. I'm bad at making decisions and taking sides and things like that. Um, I'm all for "for each his own" and freedom of speech, but not when it's really offending someone else. But, on the other hand, oversensitivity is one of my pet peeves. South of Houston Street has gotten along without too many bumps so far, and I know me and Quick are doing our best to keep it that way. *yawns* And now, I'm bored with talking about myself. If there's anything else you want to know, e-mail me.
Props to my peeps (and to the ghetto in which I've never lived for supplying me with trippy slang): Secrets, Dice, Jenny, Daph, Spit, Ash, Crashie, Timie, Askie, Pan, Quick, Angela, Flashlet, Smokels, Sketch...and all of y'all who I forgot. *huggles!*
For Secrets: doorly?
For Jenny: woot!
and for Dice: *bops*
*smiles* I love Soho. I update Soho. Obsessively. Well, not quite to that extent. As I said, I'm pretty lazy. But...still. It's close. *nods* Basically, I'll only intervene in stuff if there's a really big problem. But there hasn't been one so far, so - there ya go. *grins* Like I said, I can't stand people who are oversensitive, or argumentative, or just whiny and obnoxious and needy. *coughs* I'm pretty tactless so if I see any of that - it'll be resolved one way or the other. I might have to hit you with a saucepan if you tick me off. Be forewarned. *plays Doom-esque music* So, yeah, I'm pretty much all the force behind Soho...if you need something done, send it my way.
I try not to be majorly strict on anything. *grins* I tend not to set deadlines because they're pretty much unneccessary (for most things), and I'm really not fond of deadlines myself. Basically, I think that being a part of a LH should be fun, not some spastic boot-camp ordeal thing. If you like to chat, great, come chat. If you like to write, then write. But - I don't want anyone to be completely inactive. That's unfair to the leaders of the house and to your fellow boarders. *nods*
Cir's leadership has thankfully changed. She used to be pretty self-absorbed because she was all depressed, but she's not anymore so she'll do her best to help out all the girls. She's can break up fights (not physical ones, since she's, like, a munchkin...), but for the most part, she's very mothering. She loves to take care of people and lend an ear if anyone wants to talk. However, Cir considers Quicksilver to be the actual leader of the girls in the sense that Quick can break up territorial disputes and keep things under control. Um, that's it. *bows*
