RED.

While the frame was off getting a new lease on life, I took it upon myself to clean the years of grease off of the underside of the floorpan.  There is really no easy way to do this, unless you have a rotisserie, and that just would'nt fit to well in my garage.  Like I said earlier, there had been a big oil leak on the passenger side of the car, the oil had sat so long on the floorpan that it was now like cement.  The easiest way I found to get it off was with a putty knife and a torch.  Then I took marine clean (POR 15 product) a non toxic degreaser and scrubbed away with that.  I worked pretty well and I was able to get the floorpan nice and clean for the POR 15.  In case you have not heard of it POR 15 is a rust prohibitive paint, when it goes on its permanent, it wont, fade, crack, or peel.  Its very durable and flexible.  Its good stuff, give it a try.

Pretty, nice finish.

Here is the brand new frame, I got it back from Andrews PowderCoating in early January 2000.  As you can tell they did a great job.  The rust from the leaky battery is all gone, and its so clean you could eat off of it.  Too bad in a few short months its going to get all welded up when I go and throw the ten point cage inside.  Oh well, a little touch up and it will look just like this again... I hope anyways.

I purchased a set of vehicle dollies for my car from Harbor Frieght Tools, I think these are going to be a good investment for the future.  It is going to make things alot easier when I want to lower the body back down to the frame, and move the car around the garage.

Here is the new Chassisworks Rear End.  Its a really beefy unit good for high horsepower applications.  It comes with all the A-Body mounting points already welded on, its a straight bolt on 9" conversion for A-Bodies.

In these pictures the Rear End is bolted in with the use of Chassisworks Ajustable Upper control Arms and Boxed Lower Control Arms.  They are a really good alternative to Hotchkis, and are considerably cheaper, they even offer fifty dollars off when they are purchased with the Fab-9 Rear End Housing.  And just incase you are wondering, all of the bushings on the car are Polyurethane.

This completes the section on the frame. Coming soon we will bolt up the new front end, suspension, dropped spindles, disc brakes and the rear end pumpkin.  Look for this section in February.  Thanks for stopping by, and please sign the guestbook.
