Improbable Revenge, the only rock and roll band yet to come out of Monticello, WI was formed in 1997. Two friends decided that they wanted to start playing music together. One had a guitar, the other had a set of drums. They asked a couple friends to join them and before they knew it, the band was formed. After swapping positions and members a few times, they have finally settled into their groove and continue to amaze their small-town peers and ever-growing following.
The Music: Powerful
IR's sound is a blend of many bands with a twist of our own flavor. We try to write music that is meaningful and can evoke emotion from the crowd. Not one of our songs was written for the sake of writing a song. Each one has it's own story and meaning behind it. We try to create music that doesn't follow some cookie-cutter pattern like so many of the bands use today. We go from love-ballads, to grunge, and then to heavy metal. We write music that is fun to play and fun to hear.
IR draws its influences from several bands including Pearl Jam, Creed, UPO, Second Coming, and Rage Against the Machine, but we all have our own personal styles that mix well to form one hell of a band.
The Record
IR is getting ready to record their first CD. It will be entitled "In Our Own Words" and will include between 10 and 15 original tracks taken from the pool of material they have amassed over the last three years. Its songs will demonstrate the full spectrum of IR's abilities with delicate tunes such as "Icy Teeze" and bass-pumping headbangers like "A Day with Myself"
The Guys Themselves
Jason, Jon, Gavin, Al, and Paul all travel different paths of life. It just so happens that these paths cross when music is involved. We want our music to be as fun for the listeners as it is for us. Our small-town heritage gives us our pure, unpolluted sound that rings in your ears, sends shivers down your spine, and stings your eyes with either sweat or tears. Jason's strong vocals, Gavin's wailing Fender, Paul's rockin' drumset, Al's steady beat, and Jon's good looks all mesh together to form one living, breathing, creature known as Improbable Revenge. |
