ST: There's been an obvious change in your group. Can you explain to us the transformation that's taken place?
Batman: We've been in the transofrmation chamber for abot two years now. We have been away from the industry, all the fans and everything, for about a year and a half, and we did make a change. Our nam has change- it's IMx, no longer immature. And the meaning behind the name, it's stands for ex-immature. People were familiar with the IM, tha's like the main thisng you see, so we just took the IM and {added} the X. The reason behind the name change is we've been away, like I said for a while and we wanted to come back with a bang. We wanted to come back with a hot new video, a whole new name,because when you're a young group, people watch you when you group up in the industry, and they wait fir you to go through that whole maturing stage. Plus, we're all eighteen now, and we didn't want to be looked at.....you know when you hear the name immature you think of the three little boys. We wanted to be looked at as three young men because that's what we are now, you know, we're not little boys anymore. So that was like the whole reason for the name change.
ST: What do you guys like best about this new image? What's the best part?
Batman: The best part about this new image to me is like we each have our own indivivual personalies, but we dress alike. I'm always inside glasses, LDB wears hats, Romeo wears a headband with the patch and everything, so, i like the versatility of it, but we still look the same.
LDB: Yeah, exactly. ast album we al had on the same identical things. Now it's like we all have our own personalities.
Romeo: Put a little twist to it this time with that, the image.
STM: Romeo, you wrote every song on the album expect two?
Romeo: Yeah. I wrote ten songs off the album that has twelve, which was a real good experience. And we're trying to get alittle more in writing and producing {experiences}. Everybody look out for us. We wrote a song on Destiny's Child's album, number eight called "Where you go" which is hot, platinum status. They produced it along with Chris Stokes, so ii's hot.
Batman: Yes, our manger Chris Stokes. We all were involed more with this album. We executive produced it, you know, like picking the songs we were aot more involved with this one. We dipped in alot of it back in the past, but we really, really got involved with this one our manger, Chris has always been like, Y'all gotta get more involved. Y'all gotta get involved with the wardrobe, and get involved with this. So we really stepped forward and really got involved in everything this time.
ST: One by one, give me each of your favorite cuts on the album.
Batman: "batman" "Keep it on the low", "Beautiful", "One Last Chance" and" In & Out Of Love."
LDB: I like "Stay the night", "Trick", and "Bubblin'."
Romeo: " In & Out Of Love", Bubblin'", and "Keep It On The Low."
STM: Who did you guys work with on this album?
Batman: Well, the producer we worked on this album was our manger Chris Stokes, definitly. A new team of guys from L.A. platinum status. They hot, they comin' up in the world.
LDB: Yeah platinum Status is hot !
Batman: Vincent herbert. Big ups to Vincent. He did our second single " In & Out Of Love'. Mark Gordon from Lervert. Tony Touch, who produced the single "stay the night" with Platinum Status.
STM: So what's Coming up netx for you guys? Tours, appearances on TV shows?
Batman: Definitely! We cannot wait to tour!
LDB: Tour, Tour Tour !
Batman: I think it's end of December, January. They're Looking at Destiny's Child & ginuwine to go on tour. That's gonna be Hot! Look out Y'all cause we're goona be coming to you city. Definitely, you know some tv spots and everything. We got some movies coming out. We got alot of stuff coming out- Our Album.
LDB: "Stay The Nigt" Y'all put that up.
Batman: So everything's going, and we got a lot of stuff coming up for the future.
STM: So, I"M sure your fans want to know - what were you guys doing the last two years?
Batman: Working Out.
Romeo: Working on this album, working out....
LDB: In & Out Of Love....
STM: Seriously. Did you guys get new hobbies? Did you travel?
Batman: Actually, we were pretty much busy through this two year break. The main focus was school; we finished school. That was like a big goal.
Romeo: We Granduatd.
LDB: High school graduates!
Batman: We're High school graduates. A lot of young brothers out there don't really finish high school and that wa like a accomplishment for all of us. We finished school, recorded the new album. We were just like living it up. We alwyas put out back to back album in the past, so we were realy happy that we get a chane to relax, just chill and do things that we like to do: got to the movies, play tennis, go swimming, basketball,football,sports, we were in it all. So you know we had a reall good time. we kept our bodies in shape, going to the gym everyday, trying to work it out.
STM: Do you guys all live together?
IMx: Yeah, in a real big house.
Batman: We're neighbors with our boy Chris Tucker.
LDB: Vicica Fox stay up there{in our neighborshood}, and Lela Rochon. We all stay up in this big place were it's real secluded.
Batman: It's fun though. Queit little neighborhood.
STM: So, you're back after two years. Has the industry changed? Is the feedback from the audience diiferent?
Batman: The main difference is like, alot of older women are started to give us attention now(they clap & cheer).
LDB: Yeah! Pump it Up!
Batman: And, you know the industry ain't goona nver change. You always goona be doing the same thing, but it feels good to be back. We're like so excited cause after a while we start missing it. we're like, when we gonna get on the road? When are we goona get back out there? when we ssen our video on tv we were as excited as te first time. Everybody was excited coming out agagin cause we been away for so long and we're just ready to get out on the road and put on a show for everybody
STM: What advice would each of you like to give to young musicians or performers like youselves?
Batman: Stay in school. Finish School, that is really imposrt, because in the business you need what's called a work permit and you need above a C average to get a work permit otherwise you can't work. So, school's really important if you're young and don't let anybody knock you down and say " you're never goona be nothin' or you can't do this. Always keep your goals in your head and strive to be the best.
LDB: Basically, what batma said.Stay inschool. School is reall important. You must have school because you need something to fall back on just in case your career don't go. And keep you head up.
Romeo: Stay focused. Stay away from peer pressure cause you know being a young teenager in this day and time you have people that's smoking and drinking and the best thing is to try and stay out of troble, get your education and if this industry doesn't work out for you you can go out and find you a good job.
