Today I started at the yellow bowl slide and it was slow so then I went on the red slide and it was faster and I liked that so I went on it 48 more times or 49 times in a row so 50 times on the bowl slides which put the stair count up to 3,7 00 a few times I was toppled as that well I don’t know it for a fact and I don’t know her but I think she is trouble watched at the bottom of the red slide. Have you heard those Mountain Dew coupons where the guy is on a bus about a girl and then an announcer type says if she has a belly button ring I'm going to lose and she does and so did this lifeguard. It was great to see Dustin who is back for his 11th season as a lifeguard he has been there every year. I was getting worried this week.
I went around the new river 2x and got stuck at that island it was terrible it seemed like 3 minutes until a person came along to push me. Next I went over to the storm and up and down I went riding vortex, abyss and then the cyclone 3x. I saw the “Sensational” Sasha without a jacket I can’t believe it. She claims it was hot but I am sure she always wore a jacket last year no matter what. Her hair was down and flowing I love it. On my way out the “sensational” looked at what appeared to be an imaginary watch and said I was leaving early but hey I get burned easily especially at the beginning of the year. The stair count 4,020 for the day and 14,820 for the year.
It was 2:00 p.m. and 85 degrees when I left. If you are looking for me on Sunday at 10:30 you usually will find me at St. Maria Goretti's I like to walk there and then home and then weather permitting I will be coming to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark after that and then maybe Monday, Tuesday who knows but for sure on Wendesday when I have a dental appointment at 9:00 and then will be at the park but I will have to be leaving early probably 1:00 because due downtown Chicago at 3:00 p.m. I’m tired just thinking of all of this but one thing you won’t get tired of is the newly expanded Deep River Waterpark so why not come out today. You might want to stop at a Marathon station in Northwest Indiana to get a 2 for 1 admission ticket. These won’t last long and neither will summer so come to Deep River Waterpark today. I'll see you there.
Most people would probably agree that Sunday is the most depressing day of the week. I mean people love Fridays there are restaurants named for it even. On Sunday there is just the expectation of Monday. Except in the summer I seldom even drive on Sundays which is why I walk to church and after that what is left? Well today it was a hot, humid day and I was surprised by the very light crowd at Deep River Waterpark. It was 12:30 and 88 degrees when I arrived. Now yesterday I played with the bowl slides all day and that is where I started off today. I rode on the yellow 2x and the red 3x. I like to start there because it is quite a hike. Yesterday despite wearing the SPF 70 sunscreen I was burned because at the begining of the year I can't be out in the sun that long. I need a tolerence.
The wonderful thing about the storm and the dragon is there is a covering so shade is available. Today once again the dragon was not open. I rode around the new lazy river and there was Dustin who had apparently been there for the past 2 hours or so can you believe it and not even a chair. I went from that river to the storm where I would play most of this day and first I went on the classic pattern 10x which made another time that I win the 1,000 stair game with 1,010. Then yes it still is my favorite although extremely slow to get to the top of I went down it and the stair count went to 1,054 and around the old lazy river I went and guess who was there it was Dustin who had finally moved. The good thing about the old river is it keeps moving unlike that new one.
Next it was back to the storm and I started on the vortex and then at this abyss there was this slide attendant who I think could be mean so this intrigues me. Oh did I mention that in passing I heard Rachel saved someone today at the wavepool for people who like the wave pool more power to you. You will not see your host over there ever. Anyay this mean slide attendant well in my mind intrigued me so I just went up and down the abyss 7x in a row. Sometimes people forget I can go up and down a slide at will as many times as I want usually. I did ask her on time number 3 if she was mean and she just stuck to the script "hold onto the handles, remain feet first and stay in the intertube at all times." I heard it 7 times it was very disturbing to me but I guess that is dedication. For the last ride I needed someone a bit friendlier so went to the attendant with a smile on her face and who happened to be at my favorite storm slide the cyclone and with that the skies were grey and ominious and it was time to exit.
The stair count today 1,630 making 16,450 for the year and leaving me a whopping 83,550 away from the 100,000 stair goal will I finally be successful this year. Many people were exiting the park and jackets were appearing and as I left that song from when the Olsen twins were very young "I am the cute one" was going on. I was like get out her name is Christina and then I saw she had a belly ring and I nearly lost it and the band played on. Yesterday I ended up driving home in hail and hoped not to today. Today just thunderstorm. It was 83 degrees at 2:50 p.m. when I left the park. Summer is here well not officially but the thermometer says so. You need to come out to Deep River Waterpark today and see all the new stuff and don't forget stop by a Marathon station to get your 2 for 1 admission ticket which I believe is good through June 24, 2005. In order to prepare for the Minimarathon on April 9, 2005 I am switching to Marathon gas stations. Plus tonight ran 1.1 miles in 11 minutes isn't that something? I may not be able to return until Wendesday but I hope to be back tomorrow and Tuesday but hey the schedule says this is not a Tubin Tuesday but they said that last year and then asked where I was. I do know that the park for sure is open everyday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. You should come out today. I'll see you there.
In the last 2 years at Deep River Waterpak every day that I have been there which is nearly 100 times I have climbed at least 1,000 stairs. It is the game I play but who knows what will happen. For example, yesterday my commute home was over 3 hours and for over 2 hours I did not even move in my car. Today traffic was a bit better but it was still 4:40 p.m. when I finally arrived. The temperature was 81 degrees unfortunately this was not a Tubin Tuesday so there was a very limited time to play
When in a hurry one can do "The Show" where I just climb up and down the dragon. It only takes 11 times to get 1,000 stairs that way but "the show" was not available today because the dragon was closed still. Then the abyss becomes my best friend and indeed that was its function today as up and down I went. The water was very warm. I rode the storm complex a total of 16x most of the time it was the abyss once the vortex was available and 3x my favorite storm ride the cyclone. On ride 16 that was stair 1,024 so once again I was a winner and then would take it slow and go to my favorite ride the classic tube slide and up and down that I went very enjoyable a total of 4x which put the stair count at 1,200 and that is when the rides and attractions closed.
On the way out I saw Rachel she got a high five and then said we should make up something which would be very complicated. Well with this Tuesday done it means only one week to Tubin Tuesday when you can see the brand new park for only $8.00 but why wait you should come out today. It was 83 degrees at 5:54 when I left the park. I return tomorrow morning for a few hours right after my 9:00 a.m teeth cleaning so hopefully around 10 or so but I must then go to be in Chicago by 3:00. Summer is definately here with this heat so come on out to The new and improved Deep River Waterpark today. I'll see you there
You know I am not very good with names and today this haunted me. I arrived at Deep River Waterpark in a sweltering heat at 10:02 a.m. and there was this mob of people at the old gates and there were people to direct me and I showed them my season pass and they directed me right into this mob and I thought this is rather strange this is worse than before when they had no separate entrance and you had to bang your way through. I then saw a group of people simply open the door labeled season passes and go right in so I followed soon there after. Now my sister who people seldom see has asked me to ask one of my friends at season passes to take a new picture since the picture she has on her pass is nothing like her and since some places she goes need 2 forms of picture ID she uses this pass and it has caused her trouble. At the season pass today well I think her name is Kristen but I wouldn't be my life on that or 25 cents. I told her of the trouble and she said that she would help me out which is one of the reasons I really wish I knew her name for certain. Today she had on these glasses and since I had mine Ion I could really see them well and they get my highest rating ever on this site. I absolutely, postively, without a shadow of a doubt love that. Now hopefully she will help my sister out tomorrow later in the day and all will be happy. Someone tell me her name please.
If there is one thing I know about Deep River Waterpark it is when to be there I do have a history of showing up 2x on Wendesdays because best times are first hour and last but in this heat sometimes the park never clears out. I started the day over at the bowl slides and I went up and down and do you know these stairs are not completely even plus they are made out of wood so slippery when wet and hot when dry on the 3rd time on yellow I nearly lost my left big toe and thought I was gong to fall down these stairs. Today I haven't got time for the pain and if I did how the heck am I going to get from the bowl slides to the first aid area which is quite the hike. Some blood was shed but it was best to play through as it did heal later. I wonder why it is always trouble with my left foot. After 5x on yellow which today was the far superior slide I went on red 2x I was the trio of Chris Brian and colleague watching the bowl slides. Each day these slides are different I suppose that is fun. At time number 8 chaos was begining to occur because is there one line for yellow and one line for red or is it pick your slide and go wherever you want. Who knows at least the first group of the day had some order one line for yellow one line for red no cutting. Kudos to them.
I rode red 2x and then returned to yellow and around this river which seems to get worse every day in moving. Now I couldn't even move near the slides and don't get me started about that island. I can not believe how slow this is and so quite. I did not go around that once. I then took the hike back to the other part of the park where the dragon was closed and once again my inability to remember names plagued me I was joined by this fellow very nice with a cup of ice that was going off to work somewhere in the park and I certainly enjoyed the company. At the dentist today she asked who are you going there with and I said just myself and she said well thats good you don't have to please anyone. I never disagree with myself about what I want to go on. Nice guy went into the employee area. I do remember the maintenance guy of Joe but now I don't know if that is right even. I rode each of the storm slides once making the stair count 1,080
Next I took another hike back to the new part it was a long lonely walk this time and I wasn't going to fall for stupidity. I mean fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me so I got in the river and rode it over to the difficult to get to exit and then got in line for the yellow bowl slide. The line was down to the 2cnd flight at this time. I rode on it 3 times and then saw the line had gotten much longer so I very slowly drifted off in the new lazy river and drifting is being nice because I wasn't even moving without using some sort of paddling motion. A people mover still had not been installed so I walked back to the storm and up I climbed the stairs of cyclone and bring back that friendly guy please with the long blonde hair that I have just made into a drummer. This time even though I have no proof of this I got this slide attendant gal that I consider to be mean and I am like oh no not her and we all know what she had to say because she never deviates from the script. I have heard her say this at least a dozen times now.
I could not give her "The Last Ride" even though the cyclone is my favorite storm ride so I went up the abyss and that made the stair count 1,430 for the day and 19,080 for the year but still leaves me 80,920 away from the 100,000 stair goal and thats still more than the 80,210 that I climbed all of last year. Today I had to be on my way but at least I absorbed a lot of fun and probably to much sun. It was 12:23 p.m. and 89 degrees when I left. Can you believe on June 8 it was only my 8th time this season at Deep River Waterparrk? How many times will you be there this year. Make it at least once and you should do it in June before the price increases on July 1 and dont forget to save $15.95 simply by picking up a 2 for 1 coupon at participating Marathon Dealers. I take a few days away but I'll be back on Saturday for more splashtastic fun. I can't tell you what happens on Thursday or Friday unless its a surprise visit so for sure you need to get to Deep River Waterpark today. I'll see you there.
Want to check out Deep River Waterpark but don't want to spend $15.95 then go to a Marathon station and get your 2 for 1 coupon or wait until after 2 p.m. and admission is only $13.95 but if you still just say hey I don't want to spend all that much mark your calendar for Tuesday June 14, 2005 when Tubin Tuesday returns from 6:00 until 9:30 p.m. when admission is only $8.00 and you can see all the new stuff and maybe even after dark.
Today it was 10:01 and 83 degrees when I returned to Deep River Waterpark after a long 2 days away. I found it interesting that my pass was scanned by one of the sheriffs on duty. You know one of my sisters wants to be a police officer and the other is terrifed of police officers. I started the day off by taking "the hike" over to the new part and I was the only person that did not work at Deep River Waterpark at that side of the park for awhile. Today it was yellow that was far superior to red. I did go on red once but yellow I went on 14x the break came after going on yellow 5x in a row when I tried red. I took the slow moving river back to the ground and took the hike over to the storm where I went up and down the slides. I stayed in the classic pattern except one time had to trade the cyclone with the vortex but thats ok because the cyclone is my favorite storm slide anyway. In all I went on storm slides 11x making the stair count 1,814.
Now it was almost noon and I decided to take "the hike" once again and I rode shortly around the river to the bowl slides where chaos was occuring because with some attendants one line is for one slide but with others that is just the side you go to and others who knows it is just a mess when it gets busy and there are no insttuctions it sure was surprising to see the very same attendand I started with still up there. I don't like chaos so I only rode yellow once and took the raft to float back where I had came from. At the storm I went up the vortex and then at the abyss I learned a slide attendants name thats cool. Of course my hearing is bad so I try to read lips and it was not Jay it was Shane and it only took me 2 times to hear that. For the "Last RIDE" I went on my favorite slide of storm slides the cylcone The stair count for the day goes to 2,080 and 21,160 for the year leving me 78,840 stairs away from the 100,000 stair goal. What a time to come on out to Deep River Waterpark as things really start to heat up. Come on out right now you will be glad you did. I'll see you there.
Megan Fox from television's Hope and Faith as a celebrity slide attendant at Deep River Waterpark? Boy do I have some strange dreams. When I finally awoke, and then arrived at Deep River Waterpark today at 12:41 p.m. with the temperature of 83 degrees dreams did not become reality and today the sky was grey and a somber mood was in the park and many people which is a good thing. I would take it very slow today. First I started off with the storm in no pattern at all but a total of 5x in the scattering. I then took a spin around the classic lazy river and took "the hike" over to the new section and saw there were some long lines for bowl slides and since I have ridden them alot I just went around this new lazy river several times thank goodness for cloud covering or I'd be toast.
It was good to see Siobhan who I had not seen for so long and was ready to say in her character goodbye she had a skiing accident in Colorado but apparently that didn't happen either and that is a good thing. She was rather glum today. I guess she missed her cute friend that is normally with her but then who didn't. She wore these sunglasses that were well I tried and tried to think of an adjective and I come back to the same one frightenly large. I should get some like that so my eyes will be protected from UV rays. Currenly I'm on a quest to find a wind up duck for my sister not a tin one just a plastic one and she had none but suggested the surf shop which did have wind up toys such as frogs but no ducks. If you can help Mark T. find the wind up duck please e-mail me at in2deep@xvi.net Once I saw the wind up duck on an episode of Becker but I don't know how that helps me. The surf shop also did not have a vaccumm not that I was looking for one. The surf shop now is near the new entrance.
As I went around and around the river I did meet a lifeguard who has quickly risen to be a Mark T favorite I learned her name was Kim and the first time I asked her how she was on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the worst possible and 10 being the happiest she said a 10 and I was most impressed she was like a firecracker in an other wise dull day. After the river I went and rode each storm ride once and then I went back and floated around the new river once again. Justine who was according to her not depressed and was feeling like a 10 in happiness did get to guard the part of the river that does not move or barely moves. The ladies that were going around at the same time I was thought she should just slug me what the heck is with this. You know a lot of girls I know end up wanting to hit me for some reason. I have no idea why. Once I left the river I went on each of the storm slides once again.
I then once again returned to the river and I was happy to see Kim but I do not know why she just put some joy in my day. I rode around the river and then went up the stairs to the red slide because that was all that was going to be ridden by your host today. I mean normally I just get there early and ride more times in an hour then people can all day. I then rode around the river and I really enjoyed that Kim so I told her so and maybe I will never see her again but she will be there and so will I. The stair count a mere 778 would I finally go down in defeat today? It may be fate because there is that slide attendant that never deviates from script with a smile on her face. Well defeat was not meant to be today because in once again just a scattering up and down I went 8x pushing the stair count to 1,290 and after the "LAST RIDE" I told this slide attendant at the cage I wanted to throw this tube at her and she just smiled. For the year the count goes to 22,450 and leaves 77,550 to go to reach the 100,000 stair goal.
Now I had planned to return tomorrow but tonight I some how ended up agreeing to buy my sister yet another car so we have to go and pick that up so I return for Tubin Tuesday at some point during that day it is only $8.00 for admission from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 and this is an excellent chance to check out the new attractions. Come to Deep River Waterpark today. You'll be glad you did. I'll see you there.
This was the first Tubin Tuesday of 2005 with the New Bigger Deep River Waterpark and what a difference a week makes. Last week when the park was not open late it was in the mid 80s and hot when the park closed at 6:00 p.m. Tonight I arrived at 6:02 to a temperature of 75 degrees and it was windy. I never know what the day will bring which is part of the joy. Of course I did not know what car I would by for my sister last night but I came home with one for her. Today it was the storm where I would play and I would just follow the pattern all the way to the end.
I rode the storm alot I saw attendants come and go. That one you know that never deviates from script ended up pushing me a lot and she never deviated from the script on a couple of occassions she did like to put up one finger which means wait one minute perhaps she is a basketball player I do not know. I could not avoid her though she pushed me several times on every slide but sometimes she was gone. It was on time number 23 that there was a rainbow which was beautiful to see but on time 24 it was no more. Up and Down I went Dustin was there tonight and that makes us happy. On my way in and on her way out I got to see Kim you know that dynamite lifeguard that puts joy in the day and might get an adjective you never know but she had to go. It was the storm all night and in the end my "LAST RIDE" was time number 50 and I picked the abyss. The stair count 3,200 making 25,650 for the year and leaving me stil1 a whoping 74,350 stairs away from 100,000
It may be rare in the next few weeks but for this week it is my favorite time of year the park is open late on Tuesdays and I return in mere hours as it reopens at 10:00 a.m. now that is some fun since I spend most of the time not at Deep River Waterpark sleeping in the changing of days. Don't forget Deep River Waterpark has expanded and if you think you've seen it all and haven't come this year then you have not see anything so make a plan to come to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of Course. I'll see you there.
It's time to play "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End." Last night I left Deep River Waterpark around 9:00 p.m. or so and then almost 13 hours later at 10:07 a.m this morning I returned. Most of the time away I slept. When I returned it was 70 degrees. Today I started at the bowl slides and I rode the yellow one 5x and then the red 5x and today the better slide was yellow. I then went and rode the storm slides in the classic pattern which had no interruptions due to the wind and not so sunny skies. The stair count went to 1,380 and then I went took "The Hike" to go over to bowl slides and since yellow was the best slide today it is the one that I wanted to ride but no the Slide Attendant on Duty Made indeed made me SAD as now like an hour later Red is for single tubes and Yellow if for double tubes only which I found stupid and it did effectively make the yellow slide virtually useless and made a long line for the red slde. I mean just last week I rode the yellow slide 49x in a row in a single tube without incident.
That made me sad and then around the river I went and I saw Siobhan she was not wearing glasses what is with that. There was Megan too good thing she said her name or I admit names I am not good with. Siobhan told me I could ride the yellow slide with a single just that no doubles are allowed on red and she claims they are the same so logically I don't follow but around the river I went and I did get stuck once again and then even though I live in the world of make believe I could not believe the story that these two made up and I felt really bad for that lifeguard across apparently named Lauren who allegedly likes me. That is not possible I learned a along time ago from the Lovely Christina that no one will like me ever and then if that wasn't good enough the Ever So Delightful Dana reinforced that. There is someone for everybody but not Mark T and I except this fact no one will ever like me like that.
Around the river I went and nobody asked me for a Tootsie Pop last night so I didn't deliver any but since we were playing "Pretend the Day Didn't End" I took "the hike" and went all the way to the old part and got Megan a cherry tootsie pop isn't that nice of me. Of course now Siobhan who had gone who knows where was disappointed but hey that happens I mean there is no pleasing everyone which is why I like to complain. I kept going around this river with this one break I only got stuck once today. I got asked if I missed Tina oh you mean "The Totally Terrific Tina" not really I mean yes I like her and she was in 2003 named my Valentine but I only saw the girl at Deep River Waterpark never anywhere else and if I am lucky I get to the park 50x in a year. I don't go to the wave pool and she doesn't work every day so how many times could I really see her. Sure I like her but I'm not asking anyone out on a date. I have 3 fears they all come from somewhere they are telephones, dogs and asking any girl out so I just avoid what I can. I mean it is no secret of who I like I have a very public life and right the storyline for anyone to read. I just like them and eventually they will go away. I mean at Deep River Waterpark you know the 3 right. "The Sensational One" "I am the Cute One" and that adjective worthy gal who I met on Sunday that made me so happy. We are exploring "The Eye-Popping" Kim or "Kim the Cats Meow" currently but I don't know if I like either of those.
I ride slides normally so I don't actually even see many lifeguards these days. I see many more slide attendants on duty and that does make me sad except there are some cool ones like Shane and Stephanie they are fun. I find it funny that I can't avoid that one girl that just simply sticks to the script. I know they are learning but they can sometimes be extremely slow but I have to say that every single one of them has always pushed me down every single time this season where as in the past I would often just get the wave to push myself down and sometimes it was difficult to get the wave. So my ranking of slides that were open the last few days go like this #1 it is know as my favorite among the oldest slides whitewater aka the tube slide. #2 My favorite storm slide "The Cyclone" #3 The Yellow Bowl Slide #4 The Abyss #5 The Vortex #6 The Red Bowl Slide #7 The enclosed body slide and #8 The Open Body Slide. If the dragon slides were open and they let me ride the straight one the way I need too not to hurt my back I would put that as #3.
According to Megan it was 7x around the river today. She had to go and I was not comfortable with her replacement so I too left and went to the storm and rode each slide once and then believe it or not I went on my favorite slide of them all whitewater actually went on it 2x today. I then went to the storm and once again rode each one today the "LAST RIDE" went to the cyclone. The stair count was even at 2000 and 27,650 for the year leaving 72,350 still to climb this season to reach the 100,000 stair goal. It was 2:07 p.m. and 72 degrees when I left. It is odd to see Mark T at the park on Thursday and Friday and you won't see me there on those days this week because I'm booked solid the rest of the week but you will see Megan who is working everyday through the 25th now that must be living. I can only imagine. Since I can't bring the daily to you bring yourself to Deep River Waterpark and see for yourself all that is being talked about and come Saturday. I'll see you there.
The duck is in the pond. Finally, the wind up duck my sister wanted has been found and delivered. Last night I was at the Gary Southshore Railcat game and for the second time in my life I was cold. If that was not bad enough many people know I have a few enemies and at the top of the enemy list is Michael Essany I can not stand him. I mean a guy broadcasting a show in his home that no one sees and this gets put up and put on the E network. Luckily noone watched and it was canceled but why is this guy getting so much press. I am sure Mark T. singing the seventh inning stretch at a Gary Railcats game would draw more than Michael Essany.
Today it was 11:06 a.m. and 68 degrees when I finally returned to Deep River Waterpark. The dragon was finally open and just to prove I still can I went up the stairs and went on the curved one and the water was cold. I then took "the hike" to the bowl slides and I rode the yellow one 2x and then red and today yellow was much better so that is where play resumed. I rode the yellow 6 more times sometimes I got the perfect ride it is fun to try that. The stair count went to 760 and then around the river I would go and now it has effects in it so you are bound to get wet somehow with water pouring on you. According to Siobhan on one side of the river they shut off the jets so I would be better going around the island part and I tried this the next time around and I did not feel that I moved despite this but we bet a tootsie roll tootise pop and I was willing to give her that.
Next I went over to the storm and it was the classic pattern which is great no lines today. Many of the slide attendants were very cold today. The stair count went to 1,400 and then I took the "hike" yet again to the new part and I went up the bowl slide steps on the yellow and by the time I went back up the line had gotten down to the 2cnd flight of stairs so I simply went around the river and it was good to see Megan she is working every day until the 25th and she was counting the times around the river and today it was 3. She was mad at me but you know "I am the Cute One" had come for a few seconds maybe a minute to take a spot and then she was gone so no reason to go around the river anymore. Ouch that seems mean I should be nice to Megan cause she is nice to me.
I found it odd that Siobhan was drinking a beverage near a trash receptacle. She was wearing those frightenly large white sunglasses she said maybe one day I could wear them on the bowl slide boy would that be sweet. I mean since I have not one everyone's favorite game this year "Where's Emily" I have not worn sunglasses on any ride. I am not going in the wave pool and is not because I am afraid of it when the park opened in 1995 I was in there very often and the I met Jordan of the "Jordan Rules" add that to why I don't date who calls someone up asks them to call you gives there number and then claims your stalking them from one returned phone call that took everything you had in you being terrified of phones and then claims that I called several times please that is impossible to this day I can not believe this certainly say look at any of my phone records. Then there was the incident with the Lovely Christina when she said go in the wave pool while I'm on duty and I'll give you a picture of me well I'm still waiting for that picture that is the last time I was in the wave pool. Then there was Erin who told me if I didn't like her sandals get her some for her birthday which I did and then she summoned me while she was on duty at the wave pool to tell me what a terrible awful person I am and she is probably right but why tell me and it happened at the wave pool. I have no good memories associated with the wave pool only bad things and I don't want bad things to happen so I avoid where bad things happened in the past. You therefore will never see me probably ever again at the wavepool. I do enjoy walking by it where ther is a railing and sometimes watching near the deep part but not going in.
Now it was time to deliver a tootsie pop to Siobhan a moving target but she told me in 2 minutes she would be on the old side of the park and for this I would need my glasses since then my vision is corrected to 20/20. You know I was right that maintenance guys name was Joe see I know something. I don't know Jack but I do know Joe in mainteance and Chris who is digging something or other all day every day it seems. Now around the park I walked once, twice and I am pretty sure I know all the hangouts but my eyes could not locate Siobhan no matter where they looked but eventually on the 3rd lap around I found her and it is most interesting that chocolate is her favorite because that is not very popular usually when I get a bag I just look for least chocolate has to be one for the "Sensational" Sasha but other than that they don't move much.
Now I decided since Megan told me the next time I saw her I better have a tootsie pop for her cherry she might still be at the river so with in hand I walked over ther and she was talking with "I am The Cute One" and she seemed angry but was happy to get the Tootsie Pop and then around the river I went. The votes are in and the winning adjective is "The Eye-Popping" Kim was at the river today and this made me very happy she was great today and most people have tells other than the fact that I write here this is who I like if I ask your birthday more than likely I like you although not a 100% of the time have to leave something open you know. Her birthday is December 30 and of that she is sure. Hmm I wonder if she would see Charlie and The Chocoloate Factory with me the remake of the classic Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. It opens on July 15, 2005 but that is not the way the story line goes. Please go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory either in IMAX or on the regulary screen July 15.
The "Eye-Popping" Kim got some knew sandals she says they are comfortable and she does a lot of walking. She is off tomorrow and that makes me sad but she will be back again another day I can only hope because she has quickly become a Mark T. favorite might even be the favorite. Now it is very odd that I would ever stop without rounding things up and I'm known for "The LAST RIDE" and the best "LAST RIDE" ever was last year with the R & R Express From Rebbecca to Rachel or vice versa on the cyclone. That "LAST RIDE" no longer exisits since Rebecca took her crown and retired at the top of the game and I saw Rachel earlier in they year but then she simply disappeared. The "LAST RIDE" needs to put a good memory on file and today with a stair count of 1,528 as I went around the river from "The Eye-Popping Kim" to "I am the Cute One" I don't think it could of gotten any better than that so the new lazy river ended up as "The LAST RIDE" the stair count for the year goes to 29,178 leaving 70,822 stairs still to be climbed to reach 100,000. On the way out I nearly ran into "I am the Cute One" but luckily she is very thin so she was able to take the inside of the rail and get by most impressive.
Since I had lectoring duty tonight at the church I get to return tomorrow morning around the opening time which is 10:00 a.m. and since it is father's day by 2 or 3 I must be on my way. Why not bring dad to Deep River Waterpark for Father's day you can even get him in for free by going to a participating Marathon station and getting a 2 for 1 coupon. You want to go anyway you know you do so what could be better head on out to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.
While I probably never will be a Father I do have a Father so I wish all those fortunate guys Happy Fathers Day. It was 10:13 and 73 degrees when I got to Deep River Waterpark this morning and I started by taking the "hike" and I know to get in the river and ride the tube over to the stairs so that I am not made to play the fool. I went on the yellow bowl slide 10x today and none on the red. The stair count went to 740 and then I went around the river and I ended up getting stuck once again. This time it was the way that Sibohan had told me to go yesterday. You can not avoid these effects no matter which way you go some water is going to dump on you and I don't understand it I could see one way you get the water on you and the other way you don't but not like this. Megan was not around to count for me I wonder where could she be?
Chris and Mike were working on one of the effects and yes folks the adjective is in She is now known as the "Eye-Popping" Kim and that was tough because I love alliteration and usually that is how adjectives go and if not then we simply do a rhyme but what adjective alliterates or rhymes with Kim? There would be no eye-popping today though and that is sad but one day again hopefully soon there will be. I then went and rode the storm 10x in a row with the classic pattern. The stair count up to 1,380 and as you know this year the dragon has been open very little I think I have ridden it maybe 5x all year and that may be high. I like to do what is known as "The Show" when I simply go up and down the stairs of the dragon at any point 11x is 1,034 stairs that is all that is needed to win the 1,000 stair game. I feel "The Show" is 8x or more and today I could not stop "The Show" I went through 4 lifeguards and 3 slide attendants and I rode each slide alternating between steep and curved. The total time for each 17x and the total times in a row with little or no line was 34 today which itself was 3,196 stairs added to 1,380 made 4,576 and today was not the 4th of July when I try to climb 4,000 stairs in one day but I could not stop
Next I went to the storm where it was Vortex followed by Abyss I got Shane as the Slide attendant he is cool. In all I rode the storm 9x this time because I had to get things for the year evened out so for this day it is the most stairs climbed in 1 day this year and maybe ever the stair count went to 5,152 and makes 34,330 for the year leaving still 65,670 stairs to climb to reach 100,000. On the way out I saw Lindsey IV and I thought she too had disappeared I think I saw her once after opening day and that was it but apparently she is hiding out somewhere in the park. Don't forget another Tubin Tuesday is just days away when at 6:00 p.m. you can get in for only $8.00 and can stay until 9:30 p.m. there is no better way to see the new stuff then this. Will I finally return on a Monday its been tough so I wouldn't bet on it but I do hope too if not I at least can get to the park before the closing bell on Tuesday and I hope you do the same. Come on out to Deep River Waterpark today. I'll see you there.
Tomorrow Summer begins at 12:43 to be exact and there is no better way to celebrate by spending all day and night at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. It just happens to be open until 9:30 in celebration of the Summer Solstace. It's also Tootsie Roll Tootise Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooosday. This marked only my 15th time at Deep River Waterpark this season and in 2003, 2004 and thus far in 2005 in the climb 1,000 stair game I have remained undefeated with a record of 107 wins no losses. Today playing game number 108 would factors combine to break that streak.
Traffic had to be battled and then finally at 4:43 p.m. with the temperature at 86 degrees I returned. The rides and attrractions close at 5:45 p.m. except tomorrow when the close at 9:15 p.m. This did not leave much time to play only about an hour so the choice was clear good thing the dragon was open because it was time for "THE SHOW" today there would be one show only and up and down I went the straight slide was the slide of choice since there was seldom a line. On time number 7 went on the curved one and 8-10 on the steep slide. The stair count went to 940 but that was not a win. The clock read 5:20 and time was running out but there was time to go to the storm and first I went on my best friend when time is of the essence the Abyss and with that for the 108th consecutive time I won the 1,000 stair game.
Now there was time to ride the cyclone and I rode it once and then my eyes popped because at the bottom was the "Eye-Popping Kim" and this guard some how has put a trance on me or something I don't know. I have ridden slides 100's if not over a 1,000 times and I have ridden the cyclone a lot and once I saw her on the next ride I went flying through the air and not with the greatest of ease. I went one way the tube went another. I think I nearly landed on my head. I mean it is rare that I would crash on a slide. I did have some trouble earlier in the year with the bowl slides but that is just because I was not familiar with them. Kim was great today and she has such pearly white teeth I absolutely love that. Now I would try the cyclone again and this time it was better she told me it was a good dismount. However it was not perfect and Kerri Strug would not eat her heart out on that landing. Time would force the "LAST RIDE" and well I am sure you can guess what it would be today. I mean I felt so lucky that the "Eye-Popping Kim" just happened to be where I was it was so great. The attendant at this slide was very animated. Now I was going to make this ride perfect I can do that but that did not happen I don't even know what happen all I saw at the end was water and then finally when I came up smiling with her pearly white was the "Eye-Popping Kim" she is so great I told her to have a spectacular day she said you to and then I was on my way as the rides had closed
It was like a euporhic state or something that I left the park it was 5:53 p.m. and 89 degrees. It was a short time and the stair count ended at 1,260 and 35,590 for the year making 64,410 left to reach the 100,000 stair goal. So much fun in so little time but tomorrow we can have fun all night as Deep River Waterpark celebrates the Summer Solstace with Tubin Tuesday play all day for $15.95 come after 2 p.m. and $13.95 gets you in or wait until the night and at 6:00 p.m. you can get in for a mere $8.00 and you get to see everything new even the effects in the new river. There is no better way to celebrate the summer solstace than at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course I'll see you there.
Tubin Tuesdays are a rare animal. Often the fall prey to weather as the park trys to stay open past dark. There are only 10 this year and in the entire history of the park there have not even been 100 Tubin Tuesdays it is for that reason one must savor each and every one. Sure we are all waiting for 2006 when it should fall on the 4th of July remember last time that happened and I lost the 4,000 on the 4th of July stair game. In just one year get to try again. I probably have been to around 90% of all Tubin Tuesdays last year they had that unplanned one that is one I was not at other than that I can't recall one I haven't been too. Now what better way to celebrate the Summer Solstace than at Deep River Waterpark.
It was 5:43 and 83 degrees when I returned and there was quite a crowd on hand because you may as well stay if you already spent the day. I started the day at the dragon on the steep slide only once and then went on abyss, cyclone, abyss and abyss and the stair count went to 350 and it was going to be slow tonight. I then took the hike and went in this new lazy river. Apparently they are not selling bricks like in my home town because wouldn't you love to see a brick at Deep River Waterpark with the name Mark T on it? The guys were having pizza on the bricks. I have heard of brick oven pizza but this gave it a whole new meaning. I saw the line to the one lonely bowl slide that was open today and it was very long past the stairs and wrapped around. I heard that it took 30 minutes to get to ride it but it was well worth the wait.
I only went around this river once and then who knew where I would go but during half the hike I had Mike who said he would se me later tonight and I would take that bet but I never saw him again. I went on each of the body slides it was enclosed and then open. Then there was just a slight chance to ride my favorite ride of them all whitewater and it is a good think I took it because after that the line grew. Next I went and rode cyclone and the abyss. The attendant at the abyss seemed very angry but she said she wasn't. I was like I could give the award to angriest person in the park and I'd select her. Maybe I shouldn't have gone from so many happy smiling faces to her. Look at this the stair count went to a mere 610 and then it was not time for the show but to the dragon I did go and once on the straight and once on the curve and up to 798. Next, I had not rode the vortex all night and I had ridden every other classic slide so lets get that in. It was then followed by the Curved dragon ride and today "The LAST RIDE" certainly wasn't able to top yesterday and guess what I could ride the cyclone perfectly today not a problem at all. Today though "THE LAST RIDE" went to the steep dragon and the stair count went to 1,050 making the record in the last 3 seasons 109 and 0 and can you believe in the last 3 years I have been at Deep River Waterpark more than there have been total Tubin Tuesdays in Deep River Waterpark history.
It sure was good to see Rachel I thought she was gone for ever but she was at the wave pool so only from a distance I don't think she is allowed to copy my wave but maybe that is the purpose of guarding the wave pool. For the year the stair count goes to 36,640 and leaves 63,360 left to climb this season to reach the 100,000 stair goal. It's my favorite time so hopefully tomorrow we get to play "Pretend the Day Didn't End" when I return when the park opens at 10 a.m.a after leaving today at 7:48 p.m. with the temperature at 76 degrees. Don't Forget Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opens in Theatres on July 15, 2005 you have to wait for that but you don't have to wait very long to get to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course because it is open every single day from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. from now until Labor Day so come on out today. I'll see you there.
You have only 2 more days to take advantage of the Marathon buy one get one free admission at Deep River Waterpark and I doubt that this offer will be extended so come on out today. It is unlikely that they will play "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" last night it was 7:48 p.m. when I left Deep River Waterpark and this morning I returned 14 hours later when the temperature was still 76 degrees. Today I started at the bowl slides and only one of them was working and it was the red one. The line grew very quickly and many people watched even Mike and Brian got in on the fun of riding this one lonely slide. You could see work being done on the yellow one which hopefully won't lose its high quality. I only got to ride 3 times before the line was down to the second flight and then I went around the river and you will never believe this right by those humming machines I got stuck and so did a little girl and then we could not move at all so we went to the effects where we were stuck yet again luckily she moved those tubes out of the way. This is the first time I have been stuck in 2 places in that river.
Next I went and did "The SHOW" by going on the curve slide once and the straight one 11x in a row and look at that my record goes to 110 and 0. Today I felt really bad for not knowing names as this fellow who I have seen for years and he has even pushed me on slide rides at the end of the year and I think I married him off to Brittany was by the dragon and he heard I had a nick name for his sister and I wondered who his sister was and it was "The Eye-Popping" Kim apparently he doesn't call her that. I think this is the worst I have ever felt about not remembering a name. He graduated from College to be in a union for lighting and sets for theatre. I wish I knew someone in that area I'd see if I could get him a job but most people I know are accountants. Now If he wanted to be an accountant at White Lodging that I know someone for. He works in the back building things I guess those are like sets right? I see him nearly every day and have for years. For goodness sake someone e-mail me right now at in2deep@xvi.net as you know who I am talking about. You know in the world of make believe I Mark T. Camarena presents in Conjuction with "The STEVE Theatre" productions but I think that is one of those things that never comes to life. I mean years ago I was going to open a restaurant where the Surface Doctor is and going to name it the Golden Ticket with grilled foods and if you showed your ticket from Deep River Waterpark you would get a discount and all workers at the park would get something so it would become a place like on those tv shows ie the MAX on Saved by The Bell but I never get around to things like that.
The stair count was at 1,350 and then I rode the storm taking half the pattern and something very odd happen I had to outlet from the abyss to the vortex since the abyss line was the longest. Usually the vortex is the longest line. The stair count went to 1,670 and then on my "walk around the park" I ran into Rachel and we have not seen each other for ever. She was on break because today she was a rotaer. I was actually on my way to the restroom you know these new facilities they built are actually very nice. I just don't understand why there are no mirrors in there I mean everyone knows I have a thing about my beautiful hair and I like to look at in whenever possible to make sure it is in place. They have dryers in there I am not a fan of those I hate the hand dryers but usually I dry my hand when over there on my shorts. I understand dryers cut back on waste and such. Rachel told me the next place I should go was to the dragon and when she tells me what to do I listen.
It was time for "The SHOW" for the second time and I wondered would it be possible for me to do "The SHOW" every hour on the hour like at 10 go up 10 times and then in the 11 oclock hour go up another 10 times then at noon etc. I have never tried that maybe one day when it is not so busy I'll give that a try. Shane was at the top as the attendant I had never seen him at that before but he knew how it worked and that is good and I was very thankful to Rachel because at the bottom was my favorite "The Eye-Popping Kim" and today she was scared when I rode that straight slide. I put my safety record to the test I have ridden that slide more than anyone unless you can prove otherwise. In 10 years I have been injured 2x and once was before the park was even open when I fell down the stairs of white water and fractured my wrist and the other time I fell on the bridge by white water and could not walk for a few days and had to crawl to my car that was parked way over by where the new part is today. I think that those wooden stairs of the bowl slides might due me in as well so I try to be very careful over there. Kim was only good today oh how I love her pearly white teeth. I did ride the curved slide once and tried to get her wet but they have moved that chair back I used to be able to get some guards wet how can I go farther. She left after time number 8. I went on 2 more times for 10 and that was the second show.
I was a bit fatigued now. This morning well actually on June 13 my sister convinced me to buy her another car I already cosigned for one but this one is a 1994 saturn sl so it is manual and tomorrow it is suppose to be 90 plus degrees maybe I'll make a special appearance for that. Anyway this morning at 8:00 p.m. I was having the air conditioner recharged so I had to get up a little earlier than I like when I work I wake up at 4:15 a.m. but Like to sleep later on my days off. I decided for old times sake to go to the old lazy river you know Bob was at the same exact spot as when I took my walk around the park which was like an hour ago. I saw Rachel and Megan was coming for her and Megan was mad at me since I never made it to her spot in that new river I mean I couldn't even move over there but bring her a tootsie pop and everything is ok. Do you know that Rachel likes chocolate is chocolate in now or something. I used to not even be able to get rid of those. Megan had 2 bags apparently one is a purse and one is a bag they were both pink. Lindsey IV's favorite color is pink. I think she was at wave pool today.
I did not get stuck even once at this but I could feel the sun burning me and everyone knows my favorite ride is whitewater when I go around the river I just monitor the line to see if there is a chance for me to get on without to much waiting and there was a point that I could get up a stair or two so I took that chance to go on my favorite ride of them all whitewater and at the end I had a good landing but still not a Kerri Strug eat your heart out landing. Down below was the "Eye-Popping" Kim and I don't think the day could get any better than that from my favorite ride to my favorite guard so even though I like even numbers I have to end on a positive note and this was as good as it could get so I told her to have a wonderful day but not my trademark wooooooooooooooooderful which is often imitated but never duplicated. It was with great happiness once again that I left the park boy has this been a good week. The stair count went to 2,654 and makes 39,294 climbed this season leaving 60,706 left to climb to reach the 100,000 stair goal.
Tomorrow temperatures suppose to be in the 90's so you know the way to stay cool is by going to Deep River Waterpark and you know there is no guarantee but just maybe there will be a special appearance by your host Mark T. It was 1:07 and 78 degrees when I left the park. Come on out to Deep River Waterpark today to beat the heat you will be glad you did I'll see you there.
It has been a long time since your host Mark T has not appeared at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark during a weekend. I can not remember when that ever happened. It was not in 2004 and it was not in 2003 but it happened this past weekend but I hear the park was jammed with over 6,000 people. It was 4:37 and 92 degrees when I returned and one could see that it was going to be a rough day would the 1,000 stairs climbed every day streak end as well tonight? The plus was have until 9:30 p.m. tonight. I started with the cyclone went up very slowly and then the curved slide of the dragon and the stair count went to 158 and then I took a hike to the new part and went around the new lazy river and was near some very unpleasant people. I think they got whistled at by every lifeguard as once they were passed they just got out of tubes and threw them around. I took one lap around that.
Next I went to the storm and rode the cyclone and the abyss followed by the curved dragon slide. Today I had a very smooth ride which was nice. The stair count went to 380 and the lines grew and I went back to the river and so happy to see "The Eye-Popping" Kim I really like that girl. I can't believe how hard I am falling for her. She was great. I went around well almost twice and "The Eye-Popping" Kim somewhere heard I gave out tootsie pops on Tuesdays. I don't know where she heard that but it is true as its "Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooosday" now this new river is very far away but for her I'd walk a million miles just to have her near me. Chris and her both wanted purple and I have had many debates about there was not a blue tootsie pop which people classified as purple. Now there is a blue one. Well much to my surprise I know cherry and chocolate are the big movers these days but there was just one purple one can you believe that and two people. I brought all the flavors I had with me. There were 5
Now when I took these to them neither one took the purple which really was odd to me but both being polite. The "Eye-Popping" Kim rated at 8.5 today on the scale of 1-10 10 being the most happy she worked from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. I should have a job like that. I have no idea where these two came from but there we were adn she took of her glasses and oh what beautiful blue eyes she has and those pearly white teeth how I love it so. On Wednesday's I like to play "Let's Pretend the Day Didn't End" this was a moment that I wish never had to end. I did get Chris to agree to be my photographer. You know I have melted at least a dozen cameras, ruined the film in several other ones and I don't have a large collection of pictures. I do have my classic picture that I can take better than anyone. It is of a female lifeguard sitting in one of those high chairs. There are not many around these days. I feel the park should sell me one to have at home. So Chris should just get me a picture like that of the "Eye-Popping Kim and then I would be happy. Well now I had 3 tootsie pos still in my hand which to ride slides might be trouble not that I haven't done it for I have ridden rides with the sucker in my mouth.
I was able to unload the remaining 3 tootsie pops and then the moment had to end. It was like I had died and gone to heaven beautiful girl at the place I so love wow. Now I wanted to end the day here because there is no way it could get better than this but I was off instead to slide rides and that ended up meaning the abyss. I rode it 4 times and then had to take a break and some person then gave me a rental tube since they were leaving which made me feel that perhaps I could climb 1,000 stairs tonight. It was going very slowly. I stuck to the abyss but one time got the cyclone in there and managed to make it up 6 more times tonight and the stair count went to 1,020 making 40,314 climbed this year and leaving 59,686 to reach the 100,000 stair goal. It was 7:41 and 82 degrees when I left the park.
It was 6 years ago tomorrow on June 29, 1999 when I bought my home can you believe where all the time went It was "The Lovely Christina's Birthday" and for her I probably would have done anything. Now for the "Eye-Popping Kim" I'd probably do anything I wonder what her favorite ice cream is. Normally I spend this day at the waterpark and have always requested it off. However, if you read the front page my sister has a funeral to attend so I will not be playing "Let's Pretend The day Didn't End" so I can go to work. Hmm I work at the same place as my sister and "The Eye-Popping Kim" works at the same place as her brother who my sources tell me has a name of Rob and I think that is right. My sister that is seldom seen and a nurse who I don't work with has a husband named Rob. Some symetry. That's it for Mark T. in June.
I return this weekend for the "tune up" so that I can climb 4,000 or more stairs on the 4th of July. This is one of the events that I have won and I have lost. My record since I have been doing this the last five years is 3 times I have climbed 4,000 plus stairs 2 times I have failed to and there was no more humilating defeat then on July 4, 2000 when the park was open for a Tubin Tuesday and I was there nearly all day working at night with "America's Sweetheart and Mine" Kristen :) and at the end there were only 3,694 stairs climbed. In 2001 I climbed 4,060 stairs. On July 4, 2002 it was hot and the park was busy and it was the worst defeat with a mere 2,904 stairs climbed. In 2003 4,058 stairs climbed in 2004 4,090 so the past 2 years I have won can this streak continue or will weather, crowds, or other factors defeat me in the 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July.
Remember the price goes up as the temperature goes up instead of $15.95 on Friday July 1 you will have to pay $18.95 so beat this increase by coming to the park on Wendesday or Thursday before the month ends you will be glad you did or wait till the 4th of July weekend when I'll see you there.
