With anticipation we counted down to opening Day Friday May 25, 2007 exactly 7 months before Christmas and then May 25, 2007 came and inclement weather caused Deep River Waterpark not to be open but I did have the picture taken for my season pass on that day. Each season I start off with the Memorial Day 5,000 where I try to climb 5,000 stairs in the 4 day opening weekend. Many years those opening days are washed away by inclement weather. A few I have had to climb 5,000 stairs in one day especially at the begining of the year. This year hopefully I will have 3 days.
Today when I arrived it was approximately 10:30 the temperatures I saw on my way down US 30 ranged from 61-64 degrees. It was overcast and a slight rain was falling. There was perhaps a score of people on hand. Can you guess which ride I rode first? If you guessed whitewater then you guessed my favorite ride but that is not where I started 2007. It was at the cyclone which is my favorite storm slide. I went on the cyclone, abyss, and vortex and then I went over to the dragon and rode each slide once. The stair count went to 380
I then took "The Hike" noticing that I was not in the best shape for opening day. I went into the lazy river and waited and waited and then I waited but no tube would come around they were stuck. I got out of the river and went on the bowl slides. First red and then yellow. The yellow slide was covered in mud that disgusted me. When you add water to dirt you get mud yuck. I therefore went 8 more times on the red slide making me a winner in the 1,000 stair game with 1,120 stairs but that won't be enough to win the Memorial Day 5,000
I rode around the river and then went on each body slide once. Then I went over to the storm and it was time for the classic pattern vortex, abyss, cyclone, cyclone, abyss, vortex, vortex, abyss, cyclone and cyclone. Some former slide attendants are now lifeguards how about that? The stair count went up to 1,848 so 2,000 should be easy and what in the world earlier I thought I was not in good shape yet I would attempt "THE SHOW" where I go up and down the dragon at least 8x and guess what I did make it and couldn't stop at 8 I went up 10x. I still don't know if I can do "THE SHOW" every hour on the hour but I keep dreaming of that day.
The stair count ballooned to 2,788 and then I saw James so it was a fantastic day. He was wearing a Chicago Shirt I like that. He actually was excited for a new season not that fake excitement that Stephanie put on I let her know that was fake and she should not suck her thumb although she claims she was biting her nail which is also a bad habit. Finally I made my way to whitewater my favorite ride of them all and the water there as usual was cold. I went on whitewater 3x. It is always cold in that old section so good for summer not so great on these cooler days. This evened the count to 2,920 and that is so close to 3,000 have to keep going.
I took The HIKE and then rode the red bowl slide 5 more times making todays stair count 3,290 and putting me 1,710 stairs away from winning the Memorial Day 5,000. I left the park at 1:28 it was 74 degrees. This year the goal is 110,000 stairs and then coming in 2008 "ONE MAN, ONE PARK, ONE MILLION STAIRS" Summer has finally arrived and Deep River Waterpark will be open every single day from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. I'll see you there.
Sunday May just be my least favorite day of the week. It gets some competition from Thursday and during the non summer times when I don't even drive on Sunday some Sundays get rather depressin but finally summer roles around and off to Deep River Waterpark I will go and try and see if I can find just a little bit of happiness for me. Today it was 2:37 and 74 degrees when I returned. The sun was shining and the pollen count had to be high as my eyes were tearing up. Now sometimes on a hot summer day I can feel a buzz about the park there is so much happiness and excitement. It is coming I know it is coming but it was not there today.
Perhaps I am getting old but today I was not in very good condition and was not feeling 100% maybe 75% and I started the day in reverse of yesterday same complex the storm and it was vortex, abyss and cyclone and then went on the curved slide of the dragon 2x making the count 380 and something was amiss maybe I should have ate more than 2 soft pretzels today that might not provide enough energy. I took "THE HIKE" and went around the river 2x and I did not yet feel like going on the bowl slide and I wondered if this is how it will end would it be I just lack energy and my streak of climbing 1,000 stairs every day at Deep River Waterpark would end just like this?
A fog of melancholy was over me but I couldn't let it end like this so up the stairs of the storm I climbed and after those trips around the river I had some energy from which to draw and good times came back because this is what I love to do up the stairs down the slide and right back up no waiting today. The sun shining how could anything be better than this? Even the classic pattern that I love to use. No skipping around to adjust for lines. The classic pattern has 10 rides in it so from 380 to 1,020 and the streak was kept alive. Now to reach 5,000 stairs during the Memorial Day Weekend I might need more energy tomorrow so perhaps that is a good place to stop.
I could still go around the river and so I once again took "THE HIKE" and then I just had to go on the bowl slide first I went on red and then was ready for red again but the gal said since the line was 2 deep I could go on the yellow and I looked as I did not want to be pushed into mud again like yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised that the mud was gone. I went down the yellow but it seemed slower than red and then I returned to red oh look here is Stephanie and she would push me down the red slide. I like that and up again I went and I asked Stephanie who was on her way down the stairs where here ponytail was and she said she wanted to wear her hair down today and I took a good look and while I prefer a ponytail she has very nice hair. It has a body and a good bounce. I really like it. I rode the red bowl slide 3 more times and the stair count went to 1,390 and surely that was a good place to stop. I mean that is 4,680 stairs in 2 days I am happy with Stephanie's hair. She made my day shouldn't we end here?
The PT Barnum in me said this is the set up will the weather cooperate so that I can climb 320 on Memorial Day to win the Memorial Day 5,000 but then I really can't trust weather so that would just be 5 more storm rides and to me that is like nothing and could get exactly 5,000 stairs. I went to the storm and went on vortex abyss and then my favorite storm slide where this year all began 3x and just like that the Memorial Day 5,000 had been won in 2 days but that would not be "THE LAST RIDE" today that would go to my favorite ride of them all whitewater and that made the stair count 1,794 and 5,044 for this summer. Now hopefully the weather will cooperate and tomorrow I'll add to the count. Remember Deep River Waterpark is now open every single day from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. don't wait come on out today. I'll see you there.
With the Memorial Day 5,000 already won before the day had begun today was the perfect opportunity to build up the stair count as the days get warmer the park gets more visitors and one can not go as quick up the stairs. It was a beautiful sunny 76 degrees at 11:34 when I arrived for Day #3 of the 2007 Season at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I haven't missed a day yet but soon that streak must come to an end but at least we have a whole lot of summer ahead of us. Today I started around the lazy river and then I went up the yellow bowl slide followed by the red bowl slide and I let the river take me to the exit. Today I was going to take it slow.
Next, I went on the curved slide of the dragon 4x pushing the stair count up to 524 and you know I like to be even so I went over to the storm and rode the vortex, abyss, cyclone, and then the cyclone again which put the stair count to 780 and you know what that means? Only 220 stairs to 1,000 and where can I get exactly 220 stairs on my favorite ride of them all whitewater with 44 stairs to the top so that is where I went and I had a grand time and then for the first time all year I went into the original lazy river. I went around it twice and I thought this is my chance for my favorite ride so I went back to whitewater and rode it 10 more times in a row. In fact one slide attendant came and she left replaced by another I was going so long. It was very nice. I rode whitewater 15x today. I wonder how many more times I will be able to ride it this season?
The stair count was 1,440 I then walked over to the storm and did half the pattern riding vortex, abyss, cyclone, cyclone and abyss putting the stair count up to 1760 and then it was to the dragon. I just rode the curve slide once it helps the count with those 94 stairs and 1,854 the number became. I then took "THE HIKE" and rode the red bowl slide and still I can not get this paper airplane which appears to be stuck off the side of the bowl. I have tried for 3 days in a row. Did you hear Brian was the new Mainteance Manager? Just think I knew him 13 years ago when he was just a mere lifeguard. So who do you think will get that paper airplane off the side of the Red bowl slide? Will it be someone from Brian's staff or will it be there day after day for your host Mark T to try and remove. It's a story that is going to be written. With the 2 rides the count was up to 2002.
I then took "THE HIKE" and went toward the storm and waited in line yes line for the vortex and I started on the top of the 3rd flight of stairs down. It went slowly and finally I made it to the top and with that wait this just could not be "THE LAST RIDE" so I went to where there was no one on top of the dragon and today the curved slide would be "THE LAST RIDE" and that made the stair count 2,160 for the day and 7,204 for the season meaning still 102,796 to reach that 100,000 stair goal. As I was preparing to exit the park I saw Stephanie her hair was in a pony tail I really like that :) It was 3:42 and 80 degrees when I left. I often try to hook 5 days in a row at Deep River Waterpark but the past few seasons have not been good to me. Here is 3 can we make it 4? If my job and traffic allow I'll try but maybe it won't be so hard for you to make it to Deep River Waterpark. The weather is going to be warm and the park will be open at 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. so why don't you come on out and hey just check the Post-Tribune for those Buy one admission get one free admission and you will be getting quite the deal. Those expire June 15 so better come on out today. I'll see you there.
We are exactly 2 weeks away from the first Tubin Tuesday of 2007 when on June 12, 2007 you can enter the park at 5:00 p.m and stay and play until 9:30 p.m for a mere $9.95 and if you are under 46 inches tall only $5.00. However today we could not play until 9:30. It was 4:00 p.m. when I arrived and the temperature read 90 degrees and this reminded me of an August day with one exception Deep River Waterpark was actually open. Oh that was a low blow. Deep River Waterpark was actually open and inside it did look like an August day much different than yesterday when a full staff was on hand but I bet you soon every day in June there will be a full staff on hand.
Today there were not many people in the park on this beautiful day so it was a good chance for me to practice the 1,000 stair game as many times I will be pressed for time with crowds, weather and traffic. Today I began at the storm 16x up and down would make a winner but today there was plenty of time and not a signle person in line so I just went on each slide once. I then went over to the dragon ride that 11 times and I would be a winner but I rode each slide just once this time. The stair count went to 380 and then seldom ever would it be wise to take "THE HIKE" without victory in hand but today we would see and over to the bowl slides I went. I started with red and it was a dud has it has been for most people lately so many people getting stuck. I don't know what they have done to it but it isn't as good as it once was on Saturday and Sunday. The paper airplane was still on the side. I did not get it off. It was a disappointing ride.
At the bottom of the bowl slide was a Mark T favorite Jennifer who let me know I was fat. Oh maybe it didn't go down like that. As she ended up saying I was neither fat nor thin even though I am sensitive about my obvious weight problem. See how one would think it was August as normally she is at the Wave pool letting young men get glimpse of her for their dreams and making me wish I was younger. Until summer ends and no one is left she normally spends the day near the wave pool. She left quickly and that made me sad :( but I carried on. I went on the yellow bowl slide which proved to be a much better ride. Each time better than the last. I rode it 9x in a row and the stair game was won with 1,120 stairs. However, I would not stop there. I went over to the storm.
There I visited the stair climbers best friend how many days do I just climb on this slide as it is the most efficient it takes 16 times up and sometimes that is all I do. It of course is the abyss which on even busy days is often shunned probably because of the short ride but you can many more rides in. I need to make sure I can still go up and down with the greatest of ease. At the top there was a lifeguard yes lifeguard not a slide attendant and I didn't know that I knew her but she said Hi Mark and she was most happy which I find to be most excellent. She seem to have red hair. I like that. It was a grand time. I went up and down 5x and I think I can climb up that slide 16x any time necessary so that is good. The stair count up to 1,440 and then with time still on the clock I once again took "THE HIKE"
I went to the yellow bowl slide same attendant as before good thing she did not slip down the slide and today this slide is where I had the most fun so it would be "THE LAST RIDE" of course I wouldn't just ride it once would ride it 5x and the 5th ride would be "THE LAST RIDE" it was a whole lot of fun out in the sun. It was 5:47 and 91 degrees when I left. You too can have a whole lot of fun in the sun by coming to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course which is now open daily from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. I'll see you there.
It has often proven difficult for your host Mark T. to make it to Deep River Waterpark 5 days in a row. It is always the hope but it seldom happens. This year on opening week I made it 5 days in a row and that makes me pretty happy :) It was 3:57 and 88 degrees when I arrived and once again a small crowed was on hand despite the sweltering heat. Today I thought I would mix it up a little and I would start by riding the bowl slides and see where that took me. I had a nice walk with Emily who was going to the bottom of the Childrens Play Area which you can see on the main page of this site. I gave her a hard time for not waiting for me yesterday as I told her too but she said she had to go when someone came with the paper card.
I continued the journey on and as I got into the river to ride to the bowl slides I thought I was in some sort of commerical as emerging from the water was Stephanie it was such a beautiful sight as she flung her hair back as she just exited the water. I could have died happily with that has the last image I had seen but then she continued on with this hair look away look away before I have a heart attack from that. I don't know how the day could get any better than that so maybe it is a good time to exit but I had just arrived. I did make it over to the bowl slide yellow same slide attendant as I left just last night. I rode her slide once and then I went on the red bowl slide 4x that was the lifeguard I had as a pusher on the storm yesterday. It was fun I did not get stuck and once again I failed to get that airplane off the side.
Since not many people were at the park I decided I could mix it up and I went over to the Dragon rode each slide once and then each storm slide once. I have managed this combination of slides a lot this year. The stair count was 750 I just got them in a different order this time. I took THE HIKE back but at the begining of the year 5 days didn't have as much energy so around the river once I would go. Chris was working on water today. The water in the pools was excellent it was a good temperature nothing floating in it and my eyes were not burning from chemicals. Lets give a Congratulations for a job well done to Chris now if the water could be like that every day it would be fabulous.
This time I started with the red bowl slide and then to conclude the day I went on the yellow bowl slide 4x in a row so everything was in balance the stair count was 1,120 for the day and that would be it. I collected my things and headed for the exit. I did see Stephanie and she said Hi and she will be off on Thursday and Friday and I won't be at Deep River Waterpark this Thursday or Friday. All good things have to come to an end and this is the last day of this streak. I hope that at least one Thursday this year I can make it to the park but we will see. I do have 2 Fridays scheduled for the end of June and July. While I can't be at Deep River Waterpark that does not mean you can't because it is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m every day and eventually probably Saturday I will return. I'll see you there.
Can I reach the Holy Grail again and be at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course 5 more days in a row? That would be so great but we will see as Tubin Tuesdays don't start until Tuesday June 12, 2007 so it will prove difficult. Speaking of greatness on my way out of the park on Wednesday I was distracted by visions of Stephanie running through my head but who did I see but the only guy that I know who has been a lifeguard yes a lifeguard every single season 13 in all but Dustin. He indicated he is working a lot so I probably won't see him much but he will be back maybe we will see him on thos Tubin Tuesdays. You have to admire the dedication and the stories he and I could tell about the years that have passed us by. If everyone that worked at Deep River Waterpark had the same dedication and excitement as Dustin there would be no complaints ever. I know we look forward to seeing Dustin at the stands for season #13
Today after 2 days away I returned and I started at the storm going on each slide once and then being rested for those 2 days I did "THE SHOW" where I Mark T. go down the dragon at least 8 times in a row. Today I stuck to the curved slide as it was nice to see all the dragon bites from the steep slide. It hasn't been right in like 3 years now. You can clearly see that at the top of the slide there is not enough water and if you lay flat on your back at the top of the slide you will get bit. You need to pass that small section without touching your back to the slide and get to the where the water is but with new staff I didn't want to get bit so I did not go on that slide today. I did ride the dragon 10x in the row had the same slide attendant every single time.
The stair count went to 1,132 and I kept my perfect record in the 1,000 stairs climbed per day in tact. I then took "THE HIKE" it was very lonely and I rode the river to the bowl slides. First I went on red and then on yellow. There were a few more people today so it was rather chaotic at the top as it was go on any slide and crowd the slide. I am sure soon they will be yelling "GET BACK" or Chaos will come. The stair count was 1,280. I went around the river and then snuck in my favorite ride of them all whitewater. I then went to the storm rode the cyclone one time and the abyss 9x in a row getting ready for those days that I may need to ride it 16x in a row. I had the same slide attendant that I had at the dragon 8 of the times I was very comortable with her so it was a good time.
For "THE LAST RIDE" I went over and rode the curved slide of the dragon and the twos had it today on June 2, 2007 I climbed 2,122 stairs. I left the park at 1:35 p.m. the temperature was 85 degrees. I shall return weather permitting tomorrow and you should make it a point to come on out early in the season remember you can get those 2 for 1 coupons in the Post-Tribune that are good through June 15, 2007 so you will experience a great savings if you come early in the season. Why not come out today? I'll see you there.
Today when I arrived at Deep River Waterpark the sun was shining brightly it was cooler than it had been the past several days. On Sundays it is often a late arriving crowd so when I arrived around 10:20 or so there were not all that many people on hand. I was pleasantly greeted at the season pass gate. Today I would take The Tour of the park which is where I go on each slide. I never know where the tour will start but once it starts it has its own flow. Today it started at the curved dragon slide which led to the steep dragon slide which led to cyclone, abyss, and vortex followed by my favorite ride and sometimes when I am on tour the tour stops here or has a detour as I ride this slide more than once but not today just once that was followed by each body slide and then I went around the Classic Lazy River which led to the easiest thing I do it is time to take "THE HIKE" for River to River and it was a lonley Hike but eventually I got to the other river and around I went. Finally it was yellow bowl slide and I had the normal attendant for that slide right where she belonged that was good and then it was the red bowl slide and if you ride every slide in the park that adds up to 660 stairs climbed.
It was then time for the tour in reverse. It started with red bowl slide followed by yellow and around the river I went this time I skipped river to river just one river followed by the body slides followed by whitewater just once. I rode the storm in good order vortex, abyss, and cyclone and then it was steep dragon slide and curved dragon slide and now I had ridden every slide in the park 2x which made the stair count 1,330 and after the tour I get to decide do I want to go again or what slide was best and has the best stairs to climb. It was becoming overcast so I chose to go on my storm slide the cyclone. I went on it 10x in a row. One attendant came and went and then another one came but I just kept going and on time 10 the rain came and it was coming down pretty hard. I let th attendant know I did not want to get wet but there seemed nothing he could do about that.
The stair count was 1,960 and being so close to 2,000 I could not stop. When I was a child I loved to play in the rain but mother never would let me come in you will get sick she would say but she wasn't there today or she probably would say the same thing. I took "THE HIKE" in the rain and I enjoyed the rain falling on me as people tried to find anything to stand under so they would not get wet. It was entertaining to watch. The slide rides cleared off nicely so no lines. I went on the yellow bowl slide but this was not my normal attendant for this slide what is going on here? She should be here for me. I then switched to red bowl slide and like on time 2 on the red bowl slide 3 all together the sun came back out and the rain stopped. I would ride the red bowl slide 4x in a row and each time I was unsuccessful in getting that paper airplane off the side. It is really stuck there good. I have touched in numerous times but it will not come off.
The stair count went to 2,330 and I went around the river. Stephanie said Hi Mark she knows my name :) I asked her if she ever wore a tierra. She said no. Then she asked why would I think that she had worn a tierra and if you don't want to answer a question sometimes you can avoid answering it by asking a different question or repeating the question. I therefore asked if she would and she said yes and then I asked her when and she said next week and I asked her if I could take her picture in it and she said yes so I told her I will have to get a camera. I should be at modern technology but I just get a disposable camera and eventually maybe the picture comes out I will hope that but many times they don't.
I still can not believe this conversation happened. I would really like to see Stephanie in a tierra as she sits on this chair high above the lazy river and sometimes she has guys at her feet and I imagine her like a queen surveying the land and sometimes when I dream of the river she is wearing a tierra. While I used another question I was thinking you are so beautiful you could have won some beauty pageant at some point where she would have worn a tierra. Don't tell her that ok? I had to go around the river once more to absorb all this and the clouds of a grey color came in so I decided on this high note it would be a good time to leave the stair count 2,330 making 14,586 climbed this season and leaving 95,414 stairs left to reach 110,000 in 2007.
Tomorrow is Monday June 4, 2007 which also happens to be my nephew Matthew T's golden birthday. You can have birthday celebrations at Deep River Waterpark. Of course mine is on April 12 so I can't but just imagine that I would. His birthday will not be at the waterpark but weather, traffic and all other constraints permitting I will be. If I don't make it I will make it to my nephews birthday and there will be cake and M and M's. You can celebrate his birthday by coming to Deep River Waterpark. Hopefully, I'll see you there.
The Holy Grail of your host Mark T. being at Deep River Waterpark 5 days in a row once again proved to be unattainable. Saturday and Sunday were fine but then came Monday and so often Monday as been the missing link. Then this week I was not aided by Tubin Tuesday as the park was open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. but next Tuesday the park will be open from 10 am. Until 9:30 p.m. so that should allow ample time. After 5 p.m. you will be able to get into Deep River Waterpark for only $9.95 and if you happen to be under 46 inches tall only $5.00 it is the best deal of the summer. Today I had a wonderful reception upon entering the park. There was the Sensational Sasha who had only seen me like two times all year. Yet I have been at the park much more often than that it seems our paths have not crossed normally I am on slides. She is looking forward to Tuesday too. How bout that Justin it has only taken me how many years to recognize him without a baseball cap but now I finally do. Then the ever so beautiful Stephanie hair in ponytail today. I really like that. She definitely is adjective worthy so lets see what her adjective will be. They all greeted me with my trademarked wave. It was very nice. I felt so welcome today.
Today I began the day with "THE SHOW" where I climb the stairs of the dragon at least 8x in a row. Today I went on the curved slide 9x in a row. One slide attendant left and another one came. He appeared new and got the instructions on how this worked and at sometimes seemed confused but unless you can prove otherwise there is no person alive today that has ridden the dragon more than I have. Often I dream of being a slide attendant but time probably has passed me by but just imagine Mark T as your attendant some night. Anyway here are the instruction you should get. Wait for the signal cross your arms and ankles lay all the way back during the whole ride and exit the slide to your left as soon as possible. Then the slide attendant will signal the lifeguard at the bottom either with one arm raised or 2 and the lifeguard will acknowledge the signal by raising the same arm or arms. 2 people can go at once. If only one is going signal on with the proper arm. You need to watch the water a wave will go to the end of the slide and then it will come back to a point on the slide. Do not send the rider before that happens or the ride won't be as good as it could be.
One day I hope to do "THE SHOW" every hour on the hour but today would not be that day actually I was disappointed as I was somewhat spent just after riding this ride 10x in a row. It was 940 stairs and I took "THE HIKE" which was lonely and around the river I went. There were 9 buses in the parking lot today when I arrived so the bowl slides had some longer lines not actually as long as they will get in the summer remember if you want to ride the bowl slides get to the park early and ride them first. I went over to the storm. I am looking into obtaining a Chevy Classic as a car and I happen to really like the word Classic. I am so old I remember Coke Classic. The Chevy Classic used to be the Chevy Malibu but they updated the Malibu and they sell the classic to business fleets or rental agencies but every so often they get retired from the fleet and a person can buy one. I have a pattern that I use on the storm it is vortex, abyss, cyclone, cyclone, vortex, vortex, abyss, cyclone and cyclone. I have used this pattern whenever possible for years and therefore that 10 slide pattern will now be known as "THE CLASSIC" remember that for the Mark T. trivia.
"THE CLASSIC" is 10 storm slides and they each have 64 stairs so that makes 640 more stairs climbed putting the total at 1,580 for the day. Next I went over to my favorite ride of them all whitewater and today as normally seems the case so you will like this tomorrow the water was freezing. I believe frigid would be a good adjective for that. I still went up and down whitewater 5x making the stair count 1,800. Lets give some kudos to that gal slide attendant who was just an attendant walking back and forth and stacking tubes. Even though some other guys had to come to whitewater and put some tubes back I told them to yell at her but she seemed to be putting in a lot of effort. I have had her push me on slides a few times. When I name my slide attendant of the year I might learn her name and she will definitely be in the running. She did not seem to wear shoes when she was in the cage near the storm.
I went back to the storm and this time it was vortex, abyss, and cyclone that made 28 slides ridden today and 1,992 stairs. I like to work up to riding 50 slides a day but today I was not feeling that. Once again I took "THE HIKE" and it proved lonely and into the river I went. Blocking the lockers on small chairs were Stephanie and Justin and I was surprised that Stephanie did not make Justin kneel down before her on this chair she usually sits up high on the other side and makes guys like Chris kneel before her as she is like a queen or something. Justin was allowed to sit. I went on the yellow bowl slide it was a bit of a wait but not to bad. Then it was onto the red bowl slide and how about this the paper airplane that I have tried to remove for days was now gone. Chris did a good job on the water today. I did let him know whitewater was very cold. There was one stick at a lifeguard stand as you entered the river but that was not in the water it was just at the base of the river so can't complain about that.
Usually a slide ride is "THE LAST RIDE" so the red bowl slide made 2,140 and that would be "THE LAST RIDE" It made 16,726 stairs climbed this season and leaves me 93,274 from the 110,000 stair goal. I exited the river and did pass by Justin and Stephanie they had not switched chairs. They too are looking forward to what will be on Tuesday June 12, 2007 the First Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooosdday of 2007. They will both be there but maybe not in front of the lockers there. I asked Stephanie if she would wear the tiara then and she said she did not have one so I asked if I got her one would she wear it and she agreed. I think this is putting a lot of pressure on myself now as I have no tiaras currently in my possession and have never been in the market for one. Justin assured me that if I bring it for her he will make certain I am not thrown out of the park. It was 1:41 and 71 degrees when I left the park. I can't imagine a better day one book ended by Beauty how could I ask for anything more? Tomorrow they say it should be 90+ degrees and I can't get back to the park until Saturday but you sure can and remember you can get a 2 for 1 coupon in the Post-Tribune and I even hear at participating Marathon stations so don't pass up this opportunity to come to Indiana's Premier Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.
It was slightly before 1 p.m. when I arrived at Deep River Waterpark. It is the start of another try of 5 days in a row. Last week looking at the calendar it was sad. If you read Deep River Waterpark Daily on a regular basis you probably know that I like to play at the begining of the day before the park fills up or at the end of the day as it is emptying out. Today I got caught in between those times so it did not seem like it would be the greatest of days.
I began the day with "THE CLASSIC" and there were only 2 slide attendants at the top and they were both working very hard so can't fault them. It is a 3 slide attraction so unless it is really slow you kind of need 3 attendants but with 2 it did become slow but I carried on. At time 6 I wondered if I would have to abandon "THE CLASSIC" and start just shortes line but no I kept going. After time number 7 who would happen to be in my vision but Stephanie with a wave and I got to chat with her awhile. I don't know if I have ever been so close to see how drop dead gorgeous she is. I liked how the sunglasses matched her hair. She had a cup with her and I hoped that we are not doing the bit where she just pretends to drink out of a cup which has nothing in it. She let me see the cup and it had 4 small ice cubes in it. She claimed it had lemonade in the cup before this. Yet the cup had no tint on the side and this ice was as clear as could be why wouldn't there be some pink on it. She did chew the ice which made me shudder.
You should not chew ice because that is bad for the teeth. Also raisins are bad for the teeth. Stephanie did not eat a lot of raisins as she likes grapes better I was comfortable with that and she told me she had no cavities which makes me like her even more. I did take a look at her teeth which she claims are strong and they are very nice what a girl. I also have no cavities. I told her that the tiarra has shipped. I may not have it by this Tuesday but it should be available sure by next Tuesday. Don't forget Tubin Tuesdays start Tuesday June 12, 2007 only $9.95 to get in after 5 p.m. and the park stays open until 9:30 p.m. I could not describe a tiarra I know Stephanie will look great in it though here is a picture of it
After speaking to Stephanie I felt really happy and it would be a great day. What adjective shall she get I have thought about the Spellbinding Stephanie, The Heart-Stopping Stephanie or so far my favorite The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie so we will see what adjective she will get and can I learn enough about her to create her own logo? I continued on the storm for times 8, 9 and 10 with now a spring in my step and then I went to the dragon and at the begining of the season it is difficult to do "THE SHOW" as I do not want to get bit with those dragon bites. You could see every single person that went down the steep dragon slide today all of them got bit. Even saw the bites at other slides I knew where they had been. I went on the curved and then the straight slide and then I departed.
I next wanted to go on my favorite ride whitewater but the line was rather long but at the body slides there was no line at all so I may as well go on those. I went first on the open body slide and then I continued to monitor whitewater waiting for my opportunity. I went on the enclosed body slide 3 times. 2 of the times The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie was down below once she waved and brought a smile to my face. Finally I decide that the line to whitewater was not so bad and up I went and the stair count was 1,048.
I took "THE HIKE" and rode the river to the red bowl slide I did note that it was 2:35 when I started this. The line to the red bowl slide was down to the second stair and you know what I say really if you want to ride the bowl slides you should come in the morning. By the time I was done and walked didn't go around the rive the time was slightly after 3:00 p.m. I then went on the curved slide of the dragon 2x making the stair count 1,310 for the day but I did not want to stop there so I went to the storm and planned to ride the abyss 3x as wanted to get above 1,500 the first time simple. The next time the abyss proved to be popular so I went to my favorite storm slide the cyclone and rode that 2x making the count 1,502 for the day and 18,228 for this season leaving 91,772 stairs left to climb to reach the 110,000 stair goal.
I left the park at 3:42 p.m. the temperature was 79 degrees. I should be able to return tomorrow and on Sunday the crowd is late to arrive so maybe I will be too. You should come on out to Deep River Waterpark right now. I'll see you there.
Today, I arrived at Deep River Waterpark just a few minutes before the park opened. Deep River Waterpark is now open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There was a line maybe about 25 deep at Season Pass entrance and one much deeper than that at the regular gates. Sunday crowds are usually late in arrriving. Today I would be early. I never actually know what I am going to do when I get to the park there is no plan except to climb 1,000 stairs some how during a given day. When play is shortened and the park is busy it usually means that I will spend a lot of time on the abyss.
I do have a dream however and that is to do "THE SHOW" every hour on the hour. "THE SHOW" is when I ride the dragon at least 8x in a row. Normally I go with 10x as that is round but it is technically "THE SHOW" when get 8 in a row. If I did it the way I imagine it would be 10x on the dragon every hour. The dragon has 94 stairs to get to the top. It would mean riding the dragon 80x in one day and climbing just for this 7,520 stairs. I have never attempted "THE SHOW" Every Hour on the Hour because not even I know if that is possible.
Today I started with "THE SHOW" in the 10 oclock hour. I rode the curved slide 9x in a row and then the steep one once. I learned the lifeguard below who was an attendant for me earlier is Jessica. Jessica is my 2nd favorite female name behind Jennifer. She likes Deep River Waterpark and I like that. She has red hair and I like that too. Often times for some reason people have concluded that I am partial to blondes but I am really partial to red hair. Jessica said I needed to go down the curved slide to make it 10x on that slide so after catching my breath I did so and the stair game today was one with 1,034 stairs.
I then took "THE HIKE" and went to action river and rode a tube to the bowl slides come early if you want to ride them. Remember yesterday one time took me like 30 minutes today I went on the yellow bowl slide 4x and those rides combined did not take 30 minutes. The stair count went to 1,330 and why not try to see how far I am away from making "THE SHOW" every hour on the hour a reality. The clock struck 11 a.m. and I returned to the dragon. I started with the steep slide and then I went on the curved slide 9 more times in a row. That was "THE SHOW" for the 11 oclock hour. The stair count went to 2,270.
This would be a good time to walk the park as I thought I could do another "THE SHOW" at noon but I would need some rest before then. I had the glasses on and my God is that girl beautiful. I thought I was in heaven yesterday when I got to be so close to the Absolutely Stunning Stephanie and today I saw her with my vision corrected to 20-20 and wow what a spectacular sight. I have decided to make her a logo. I asked her favorite color and she said blue. How about that my favorite color is blue. We have some things in common now same favorite color and she nor I have any cavities. Then you know I have a tell if I ask when someone's birthday is that means that there isn't a shadow of a doubt that I like that person but she probably doesn't kow that. Her birthday is October 27 and on October 28, 1994 I became
I told her that I am going to make a Logo for her that she will probably never see. She has to be special to get her own logo there are few adjective worthy persons but to get your logo that is something. I can see the logo for The Absoultely Stunning Stephanie but do I actually have the talent to make it. I will try and soon we will see. Noon came and it was time for "THE SHOW" at noon. Becky remember her from slide attendant days noticed I had come back and I told her the clock had struck noon and I was doing this every hour. This time I rode the steep slide 10x in a row and the stair count went to 3,210
I then went over to the storm rode the cyclone and then the abyss. It was better moving today because there were 3 attendants not just 2. I like that. I then was so excited to see there was no line to my favorite ride of them all whitewater and so I went on that 3x in a row. The stair count went to 3,470 and I was climbing these stairs during the rest period. By this time I thought I don't even know if I could get back to the other side of the park so I took a ride around the original Lazy river. I got to see Jennifer that was nice. She usually works at the wave pool and I don't ever go in that although you are welcome too. If ever there was a day today would have been it as on my walk around the park There was Jennifer, Lyndsey and The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie all on one side of the pool and that is probably the most comfortable that I could be. My nephew may end up makin me go in the wave pool soon we will have to see.
There was one last "THE SHOW" left in me and I climbed and rode the curved dragon slide 10 more times in a row and that put the stair count to 4,410 and it said that right now I can get half way to the dream of doing "THE SHOW" every hour on the hour but not ready yet to complete the task. I did run completely out of SPF 70 Sunscreen today. My assistant got me some Neutregena SPF 70 and it really feels light going on and it seems to work. I had half a bottle of Hawaiaan Tropic Ozone Block SPF 70 but it has all been used up. A little tiny bottle of SPF 55 was included with this Neutregena so I used that or else I was down to SPF 30 and for me that is a sunscreen of little help. Please remember to reapply sunscreen if you will be out in the sun all day.
With 4,410 stairs climbed today it makes 22,638 stairs climbed this season. I could climb no more today not even down so I had to take the way without any stairs down on the way I passed "The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie" I told her to have a wonderful evening. We are excited as you should be too for Tubin Tooooooooooooooosday which is now only 2 days way. She did not have a favorite tootsie pop mine is rasberry. I asked her if she would try this new flavor and she wanted to know what it is and I did not know. A couple of years back they came out with a blue flavor but that did not last at least I haven't seen it lately. Looking at this new flavor it says that it is watermelon I wonder what that is like. Tomorrow I'll try to live the impossible dream and turn a Monday orange so that it could be 5 days in a row. However, Mondays are difficult for me and "THE Absolutely Stunning Stephaine" is off isn't odd how her days off correspond when I am not at the park? She will for sure be back for Tubin Tuesday and so will I and then we will play my favorite game of them all "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" when I return on Wendesday Morning right as the park opens. I had a wonderful vision and a smile on my face as I left the park. It was 1:57 and 83 degrees. Remember if you come after 2:00 p.m. you get $2.00 off the regular admission price so a few people were waiting outside the gate. If you can't make it tomorrow you have to make it Tuesday for the best deal of the summer. The park still opens at 10 but stays open until 9:30 p.m. Come at 10 and it is $18.95 or 16.95 if you are from Indiana. You get those extra 3.5 hours free. Come after 2:00 p.m. and the price is only $16.95 or 14.95 if you are from Indiana. Or just wait until 5:00 p.m. when the price is only $9.95 per person and if you have little ones under 46 inches tall only $5.00. You only get 10 deals like that all year so why even miss one. Come on out to Deep River Waterpark. You'll be glad you did. I'll see you there.
I thought that Monday I would finally turn the calendar orange and be on my way to 5 days in a row. From Elmhurst Illinois I traveled and all went smooth until I hit the 163rd street toll and then it was just wall to wall trucks and I barely moved and the dream was shattered but there is always next week and at least with Tubin Tuesday there was always tomorrow. Tomorrow came. Today was the first Tubin Tuesday they are very rare only 10 all year and I have missed very few of them. In fact I am the secretary, webmaster and newsletter editor of an accounting group and just to accomodate me the meetings usually on Tuesday have been moved to Thursday. I was not going to miss the first Tubin Tuesday.
It was 4:45 when I arrived. I did not see the temperature but it was windy and these days I can not take wind like I use to be able too. I used to be a larger man and then I lost 47lbs and in the process I managed to lose some of my cold tolerance. Today I started with the dragon I went up and down. It was the curved slide 2x and I quickly realized that "THE SHOW" was unavailable today as the energy level did not permit. Must be something about that 44 mile drive from work to my house and then another 16 to Deep River Waterpark maybe I should have taken a nap but I just could not wait. I felt so happy actually the happiest I have been in years and in fact after years of being gone it was the return of my trademark yellow shorts which indicate my extreme happiness and we can give the credit to "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE"
Next I went to the storm and I couldn't even do "THE CLASSIC" I got half way through and was drained but I was half way to winning the 1,000 stair game with 508 stairs climbed. I saw that my favorite ride whitewater had no line so that is where I went and I rode it 3x pushing the stair count up to 640. I took THE HIKE and it was long and lonely and I could barely hear my name my hearing is bad and so is my sight without the aid of glasses unless I am close by. It was Justin and then he told me that Stephanie will not be there all night and that made me sad but what am I going to do. There is always tomorrow and we all know how the story has to end right Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Eventually for Mark T that girl will leave my life never to be seen again so just enjoy her when and while you can. Justin got on the radio to call her but she did not have a radio we heard and then whoever he was talking to said she is right here. Justin announce I was here and had the tiara and then she said OK and that was the extent of that. He told me to stay in that area and she would come over.
I thought this poor girl is probably wanting to go home probably been there all day. I don't like when it is time for me to go and then I get swamped by people and all I want to do is leave. Tonight I knew the whole family was coming so worlds would have collided. I don't know that we need a meet the parents for her. It was my parents, my 2 sisters, my 2 nephews Matthew T and Luke T who are 4 and 1 respectively and my Brother In Law. They all arrived on her cue and I thought oh my how would I ever explain this to all of them I mean how am I explaining this to myself I bought some attractive female a tiarra and she agreed that she would wear it and I could take her picture you can't make this up. That created the inner conflict on the good side The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie is so nice that she made sure that she would not create an awkward situation for me and got to love her for that. Then on the bad side she told Justin to give her a cue and then she could easily get out of the park without having to see me. She never showed up to my knowledge of course I could not just sit and wait because these folks I had for a very limited time.
The first time I went on the yellow bowl slide with my brother in law. The first time I have had a rider all year. I don't get to ride on the slides with others very often. It is a different expereince. We got 4 spins which is pretty good. We then went around the river he pushed me under the buckets and as usual in that area I got stuck. The lifeguard was nice enough to pull me along or I might still be there even now. Now we searched for my sister because she was next to ride the one slide with me but it was hard to find a double. Actually a few ended up stuck where I had previously been stuck and I even walked around the whole action river to see this. We also went on the yellow bowl slide. This time I was in the back so switching it up all sorts of styles tonight. We went around with 3 spins. My stair count was 788 and I have one more sister she could do one ride but she will never ever fall for my the storm again. One year she did that and I insisted the storm is 3 slides and she had to rid them all.
She chose to go on my favorite ride whitewater. Mike was still up there remember I had him like a couple hours ago on that slide. He had not moved and was working 12 hours today. My sister chose this slide because she did not want to get wet and you don't get to wet on this slide but it is the coldest water in the park. Tonight I would once again classify it as frigid but I did not tell her that until after she was in the tube. It was a good time and the stair count went to 832 and that was a good base. Did you see me at the wavepool? Not past the red line but to get my nephews and sister I touched wavepool water. My parents like to eat and for the trivia I like Turkey Store Honey Turkey available at Strack and Van Til. I do not know where else but it is about the only deli meat that I like and then it was a family affair. My parents had gone around the action river maybe a couple of times and that was enough for them.
Now one of my sisters needed a ride home and that is no problem as she lives 6.5 miles from me off of US30 but she took my car key to make sure I did not leave her. I distributed some Tootsie Pops I met Rich apparently that is his name not an adjective. I showed Justin I had the tiarra it is still wrapped in bubble wrap. I didn't want it to break. Justin was sorry about Stephaine and we should have a sit down conversation with her about this. I told her he could do that. Tomorrow is "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" so I'll be back and may I'll see her then it gives me somthing to look forward too and there are 9 other Tubin Tuesdays remaining. I took "THE HIKE" and it was pretty long and lonely but at one point Joe said this is Chelsey she works here but I was sure she did not but he said in tube rental and one day she will be in water wars. I promote nearly everything at Deep River Waterpark but this Water Wars has been moved to where you couldn't even find it if you were looking for it and usually some person is hidden. At least when it was by the storm sometimes the attendants and workers got into it that attracted business. This year I have never seen this played once. I did hear a few people say they would play if they could win something like a coupon.
I was now set up and there was Emily and she was panting because the card said run to rotate but yet she stopped to talk to me and I was glad about that. I gave her a tootsie pop. She was going to whitewater and I should go there but it is cold. I went to the storm and did "THE CLASSIC" making the stair count 1,472 and then I said now I am warmed up so I can go over to whitewater and over I went. Did you here that Mike was up at whitewater for 3.5 hours. That must be some sort of record. He did make it to the cyclone when I was finishing up "THE CLASSIC" I like to make things even so I rode whitewater twice. It would be "THE LAST RIDE" the stair count 1,560 making 24,198 climbed this summer.
Now I had to find my sister I imagined she took the car and I would have to walk down US30 which is dangerous. I did verify my car was still there and she was too. It was 8:23 when I left the park and a cool 73 degrees. That means 13 hours and 37 minutes will pass before the park opens again but that isn't so bad. US30 is under construction at night so I felt just like I was driving home from work and it took awhile to get home so the hours are ticking away that I have to spend away from Deep River Waterpark. Tomorrow should be a beautiful day and maybe it will be really beautiful for me. It can be really beautiful for you if you come on out to Deep River Waterpark which is now open every single day at 10 a.m. so don't wait. Come on out now. I'll see you there.
My favorite game to play is "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" this I take Tuesday night and leave the park as late as possible and then return as early as possible on Wednesday morning. I should get to play this game two more weeks. Last night I left at 8:23 p.m. I did return today slightly before 10 a.m. so around 13 hours and 37 minutes but I can do better than that. Like to be in the 12 hour away range. I was in line at season passes. The people in front of me were not happy with the service. It was actually pretty entertaining as it was time to open but the girl could not get the gate open. One would think it would be strange to design a gate to open into a crowd. Wouldn't you pull it in just for safety purposes. She did manage to push it to provide a very narrow opening. A person at a time could squeeze through.
Finally, another guy came along and he seemed to know the way the gate should go and he pulled it in and finally the gate was open. Today I would take THE TOUR because it was a good day for it. I started on the red bowl slide and then the yellow bowl slide and then over to the dragon curved followed by straight and then it was the vortex, abyss, and cyclone followed by my favorite ride whitewater and then each body slide once. The stair count was 660. I had ridden all 10 slides in the park and then I went around the Lazy River. I saw Emily she was working wave pool today. She only spent slightly over 11 hours away. How I envy her. She told me I could do better and I will try next week. This year I have 7 more chances to play "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" I am actually scheduled to appear two Fridays the last one in June and the last one in July but then I probably have to work on Wednesday.
Around the river I went made sure to go all the way around so could experience the ride. It was then time for RIVER to RIVER and I took "THE HIKE" and it was long and lonely but I made it and went around the action river before climbing the stairs to the red bowl slide and there on the wood my feet burned it was so hot tried to find any shade. The line was past the first flight of stairs. I made it up and down and then went up to the yellow bowl slide as this was the begining of the second tour. I then took "THE HIKE" to the dragon started on the curved slide followed by the steep slide and I liked this crew they didn't complain when I rode the steep dragon slide the way I need to avoid the dragon bites so I thought hey this is a good time for "THE SHOW" I was able to alternate between curved and straight slides. It was so much fun.
The lifeguards switched when I was on time number 8 and so did the slide attendant and the new guy must not have been given instructions but he kept the line moving so that was good for us riders. I went down and the lifeguard called me over to ask if I would tell him to wait until she gave the signal. I did go up and tell him but I don't think he cared. I showed him how to raise his hand for the signal. He did not have 2 riders on a slide at any time so that was good. What he did was he let one slide go at at time watched when the person got out of the water and then told the next person go. There were no instructions about cross your arms and legs or lay back and there was no waiting for a lifeguard to signal they were ready. I told him and that is all I could do I still had a good time and did "THE SHOW" adding 940 stairs to the count making 1,748 stairs climbed.
Now it was afternoon and I should reapply sunscreen but I have had problems when wet so I walk around the park to dry off and who did I happen to come across on this waslk "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" I did have to ask about last night and she indicated she got off at 5:30 p.m. and then went home and that is understandable. I felt much better. I would give her a tootsie pop because that is how "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" works see I may miss you on Tuesday night so you can get me Wednesday morning because Tuesday never ended. You can also hit me up again on Wednesday. Any tootsie pops that don't go on Wednesday get taken to my office. She told me Tootsie Pops are only on Tuesdays she can't make the rules for this game. She did say she will only wear the tiarra on Tuesday so I have 9 more chances. She did not have the schedule for next week so she doesn't know if she is working or not. She can make the rules up for that because she left at 5:30 you can't really make it "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END"
It was 12:25 when I began "THE HIKE" to go and get a tootsie pop for her and she must have watermelon and report to me how it is. On the way I saw Jennifer she is one of my favorites you know she was at the bottom of the Paddles play area. I did not see her last night. Apparently she was at the wave pool. I could get her a tootsie pop as well. She wanted rasberry and that I would have because it is my favorite so I usually make sure that have several rasberry and of course chocolate for the Sensational Sasha but I did not see her last night either. This "THE HIKE" was not so bad. I now have this cell phone that sometimes I carry with me but not normally. Pretty strange for a person afraid of telephones but I may be over that. This is some prepaid phone for emergencies and my sister had called that she would like a ride to go and pick up her car from the autobody shop.
I was pleasantly surprised that Jennifer and The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie were together. They claimed they did that just for me. It was great and I did deliver and asked if I could take their picture. They agreed if together. I couldn't play favorites among my favorites and say you I want a picture of but you no. The did agree I got the camera out. This is not waterproof. I have melted 4 of those in the last 6 years. It is diffcult to take 27 pictures for me and the heat melts cameras. If this picture comes out it will be suitable for framing and I am pretty sure it will be framed I don't know if you will see it though. I should be back on Saturday thought maybe later today. Together with an etheral sound they both said bye in unison and how could I have a better exit than that? As I thought about going back this afternoon I thought for $2.99 a gallon of gas and this exit which is now emblazzened in my memory which will keep me happy for the next 2 days while I must be away I may as well go out with that fantastic exit. I don't know if that is considered "THE LAST RIDE"
It was 12:52 and 88 degrees when I left the park. I picked up my sister and her car looked good as new. If you are near a Walts they have Hot Dog and a Drink for 70 cents celebrating there 70th anniversary. I live within 3 blocks of the Walts so I got 2 hot dogs no drink that cost me 90 cents for my lunch. It is going to continue to be hot so why not cool off by coming to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course which is now open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. I'll be working on the logo for "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" maybe it will be done by the time I return on Saturday. You don't have to wait until Saturday to come to Deep River Waterpark come on out right now. Eventually I'll see you there.
I would like to get some swim trunks with the M & M characters on them. However, my search for said shorts has left me to find that there real are not a lot of novelty swim shorts for adults. Maybe one day I will sport them if the exist or maybe that is something just to dream about. For two long days I had to be away from Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course but finally today at 9:55 a.m. with the temperature a sweltering 85 degrees I returned. At the season pass gate the young man opened the gate without any trouble and then not only did he have to scan the passes but he had to check the bags and for this one guy to do all that he deserves some props so lets give it up for him. As I approached the gate "THE SENSATIONAL SASHA" indicated she could do the bag checking.
As I began the day I saw Justin surrounded by a sea of blue. It looked like many new lifeguards would be put into place today. Several of the lifeguards had shadows. I began the day on the storm and today it was vortex, abyss and cyclone for a stair count of 192 and then I went over to the dragon and I went on the curved slide 2x making the count go to 380 stairs. Then I wanted to get in a few rides and wanted to ride the bowl slides today so in my 1,000 stair game I made a fatal flaw and did not start at the bowl slides. I walked over to them and got in the river and rode to the slide another mistake that could put my consecutive win streak in jeopardy. I first climbed the stairs of the yellow bowl slide. These stairs are made out of wood and they were like burning up as they were completely dry. These are the most difficult stairs to climb as they get very slippery when wet and on these hot days they are way to hot. I tried to stand in shade or any place that was wet but was unsuccessful and the burning sensation on my feet actually hurt. Nevertheless I went on the red bow slide with the same result.
I had to ride around the action river to keep my feet in the water to ease some of the pain from the hot wood. You will not see me walking on hot coals any time soon. Time it ticks away and as it does more people enter the park yet I had climbed 528 stairs and the line was not so bad to my favorite ride of them all whitewater so I got in the line 3 flights down nearly to the end of the stairs. I was entertained by the couple behind me who continued to kiss one another they really seemed to like each other and had many public displays of affection. I should have counted all the kisses to the top. Where is that Kiss Cam when I need it? The guy had a cell phone on his shorts. I wondered is it that important that you must carry a cellphone even on waterslides?
Now as I surveyed the park the damage had been done and the line at whitewater was long. The bowl slides forget about it. Even the normal outlet of the dragon had a line down pass the first flight of stairs. Therefore the option was the stair climbers best friend over at the storm it was onto the abyss although a few times I was able to get the cyclone in there and that was great. Has everyone seen Lucy this year she is looking good with the smile on her face and happy as can be. She was at cyclone. I have only seen her like 2x all year. It is a big park. I was determined to go for the win on the storm I would not stop until the win was complete. I ended up riding the storm 8x in a row adding 512 stairs to the count making it 1,084 for the day.
I then decided it was a good time for my Walk of the Park and around I went so many people having fun it is great to see. You to can join them. There was still plenty of room as the clock struck noon. You would have to park rather far away actually pass where the attractions end but parking was still available. I reapplied sunscreen. Please make sure to use sunscreen if you will be out in the sun and reapply often. I use Hawaiian Tropic Ozone Block SPF 70. I then went to the storm and I rode the abyss 2x followed by the cyclone and then back to the abyss to make the stair count 1,340 and that was a good even number. It was not my best effort today. I could have done better. I did not think the abyss was the best "THE LAST RIDE" because nothing exciting happened or good. I would have given it to Lucy at the cyclone but she had left so I thought "THE LAST RIDE" will go to my favorite slide of them all whitewater.
I walked and all most made it to whitewater when I saw "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" don't you wan't to see her logo? It is coming soon. She reported that the watermelon tootsie pop was good. If I liked watermelon candy I would like that. I am not familar with watermelon candy. She indicated like a jolly rancher. I don't know that I have had a jolly rancher in watermelon. You see that is a candy without an M or a T so I don't know that I would venture that way. I would however recommend Lifesaver Creamsaves the cinnamon bun and the apply pie ala mode are absolutely faboulous. My colleague brought them into work and I really like those. I know I do not like watermelon. My favorite tootsie pop is rasberry but I do't like rasberries. I might have to try one next time. This bag had one watermelon in it Justin almost had it but he threw it back. I will not go out of my way to get watermelon. Next time she will mix it up. Unfortunately "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" doesn't yet know if she will be working on Tuesday night as I am down now to 9 chances to get her to wear this tiarra I got it just for her. She will not be working tomorrow. I will still try to get to the waterpark because remember last year when I was in Elmhurst Illinois working on Father's Day and it was absolutely miserable for me so this year maybe can make up for last year.
I learned that "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" hates traffic because she is not very patient and neither am I there is another thing we have in common. I stil can not believe how beautiful she is there may have never been a time that I have felt so wonderful as when I am in her presence and in a very close proximity. I think it is like a pure euphoria that comes over me when I get to see and talk to her. I am almost at a loss for words to describe the feeling but it is so wonderful like everything in the world is great. My coworkers probably would say when I see her I am beyond Pumped and I often am pumped especially in the morning. "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" was very hot. (Pun intended) I told her I was on my way to whitewater but the line is rather long and my home is air conditioned and she said she would go to the air conditioned home and the line was long. I thought I love whitewater and "THE LAST RIDE" is the memory I use until the next time I get to the park but even though there is no slide I like more I really like "THE ABSOULTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" more than I like my favorite slide and that is the best image I could have today of this extremely attractive young lady so I told her she made me decide and to my home I would go. The stair count was 1,340 making 27,286 stairs climbed this summer. Leaving 82,714 to reach the 110,000 stair goal.
I'll have her tiarra on Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooooooooooosday which is now only 3 days away and hopefully everything will work she will wear it and I'll snap her picture and she will keep the tiarra to wear whenever she chooses but for that we will have to wait and see. Tomorrow I should be able to return as once again go for the 5 in a row. If your dad likes fun in the sun why not bring him to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. It is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m so come on out. You'll have a splashtastic time. I'll see you there.
I have no children of my own. I doubt that I ever will but who knows maybe some day. Despite this fact children do seem to love me for some reason and if there is one thing I love it's Deep River Waterpark. Today I returned at 9:57 a.m. it was a very humid 83 degrees. I was determined to play the 1,000 stair game better than yesterday. To do so I thought maybe I would starte with "THE SHOW" I climbed to the top of the dragon and on the curved slide and the top of this slide was covered in bird poop like I had my face it it as I sat down waiting to go. I did not like that in fact it upset my stomach. Brian we need a clean up on top of the dragon. I don't like bird droppings on my car but then to have to climb 94 stairs to see this in the morning yuck.
I then went over to the storm and I started "THE CLASSIC" the most efficient stairs to climbe in the park are on the storm and I continued going up and down. In fact I climbed the stairs 15 times riding each and every ride 3x before I saw my 2 nephews, brother-in-law, and my older sister. I got to go on the cyclone with my older sister moving the stair count up to 1,118 and then I went on the abyss 2x with my brother-in-law we are some large men so we nearly flew out of the splash pool. I did not want to see that so I bailed on him each time.
Then did you see it my nephew tried to get me to go past that red line in the wave pool but I would not go. I stayed with my younger nephew Luke T behind the red line. I have this very tiny little bottle of SPF 55 sunscreen for emergencies and he liked to throw it and pretend like it was a boat. My sister tells me this is the first time all year he would go in the water so progress was made today which good. I was near the wave pool sitting in the water for awhile with my younger nephew. He is 1. He will be 2 on Halloween. At least he was happy. I did not take my walk around the park today so with him I could play. I did get my sister to reapply the sunscreen she even got my back so it will be her fault if my back gets burnt.
My sister and I were able to sneak off to ride her favorite ride and if you know what that is you are really good. It is the enclosed body slide. When we got to the top the slide attendant was jumping all around. I told her to stop acting crazy at least I found out there was a bug she wasn't going crazy. The stair count went to 1,290 for the day and in the wave pool for some more did we play and I went off with my brother-in-law to the abyss for the 3rd time should be a charm. This time he figured out how to stop us as we go really fast. The second time I even ran into the rail at the stairs. Then I took my nephew for a tour of the park. He was happy to walk went into the kiddie area but he did not want to get wet I guess. I held him and he was ok. He did like to shake the fence near the lazy river but he would not go in. I guess he just needs to see. As the clock hit noon it was time for them to get out of the sun and go home for naps. I should be taking a nap.
I returned to the storm on cyclone and then exclusively on the abyss and up and down I went as it is a stair climbers best friend and all in all I rode it 8x making the stair count 1,930 for the day and I know my cue to exit when "CHAOS AT THE CAGE" rears its ugly head. This is where there is no attendant and no tubes so then you hear a lot of cursing and yelling and it is not pleasant at all and I want everything to be pleasant. It wasn't as good of ending as yesterday with visions of "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STEPHANIE" I worked on her logo for a long time last night as she worked the buyout and it is not yet complete but part of it is done and her logo will be even better than mine. Here is the part that is complete. "The ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
The stair count for the year goes to 29,216 leaving me 80,784 away from the 110,000 stair goal. I left the park at 1:22 p.m. it was 89 degrees. Remember just because the weekend is over doesn't mean you can't come to Deep River Waterpark you can because it is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. every single day and don't forget we are only 2 days away from Tubin Tuesday number 2 when you can get in after 5:00 p.m. for only $9.95 and stay until 9:30 p.m. Make your plans to come out to Deep River Waterpark today. I'll see you there.
Yesterday traffic would have allowed me to get to the Deep River Waterpark but the weather would not cooperate as I did get 6.5 miles down US30 to where my sister resides and there the stoplights were out and traffic was backed up. I turned around and seemed to be followed by a dark cloud and severe weather. I do not know the next chance I will have to turn 5 in a row. I don't think for awhile though. If I could have just this one night over and over again life would be so grand.
It was 5:44 and 83 degrees when I arrived and on Tubin Tuesdays I often get distracted people come into the story line. I would guess that it is the day that I climb the least amount of stairs it just is fun so you should come to at least one there are only 8 more left this season. I always try to builde up a base so that later when everyone has left I can get to the 1,000 stairs easily. On Monday and Tuesday I try to work from 6 a.m. until 2:00 p.m and last Tuesday I noticed this may have taken a toll on me so I tried to get a nap in today. I then started at the dragon going on the curved slide. There are some days that I can just feel "THE SHOW" is unavailable today that is how I felt. In fact after going on the dragon just once I took "THE HIKE" over to the action river. I did at that very time run into my parents, two sisters and two nephews who were just entering the park.
I took a ride around the action river. I then returned over to the storm and rode each slide once and went back to the curved slide of the dragon and then saw my favorite whitewater had no line so I went there and the base count for tonight was 424 and usually I like to get at least 1/2 way to 500 stairs. My nephew likes to play in the wave pool. I will not go pass the red line so for awhile there I stayed. My older sister was to cold to go on other slides so how about my other sister. She did not have a towel with her. I found it strange that someone would come to the waterpark without a towel but ok she could use mine. She first chose to go on the bowl slide but then decided on whitewater. I have never in the history of Deep River Waterpark ridden on a bowl slide with her.
The water at whitewater was warmer than normal today. I would not classify it as frigid. We went down whitewater and then since she had my towel I convinced her we should try the bowl slide and by the time we got there she would be completely dry. We took "THE HIKE" and went up the stairs to the red bowl slide and my sister told me that lifeguard at top looks very mean and then according to her he nearly pushed her down the slide as she was trying to get in the tube. That would have been entertaining. She was falling and he did have a smile come across his face. She did not like him maybe he had a rough night. I have seen him on numerous occassions usually at cyclone and I don't think he is mean at all. We got 4 spins around this slide that is pretty good. My sister was done that is like the most rides she can go on in a day 2 so I did pretty good tonight.
Do you know what I like to eat yet Turkey store Honey Turkey available at Strack and Van Til and thats what my parents had brought and today my brother-in-law had to work so I didn't get to ride the slides with him but we were joined by his mother who I don't think there is a classification of relativeness for me to her. After eating I can't actually ride slides for a period of time. My sister did return the towel to me and it was wet and she said it did have 2 hours to dry before I left. She wanted a tootsie roll tootsie pop even she knows it is Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooooosday for 13 seasons now. Remember back before we had our very public feud that she distributed them to the male lifeguards.
She went on her way had her own car tonight so she did not need a ride for me and around the park I would walk for awhile because I could feel that I was not ready to go on any slides. My path came across "THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
she allowed me to sit next to her and I was very happy and she had to go work on a stand tonight like in 10 minutes or so but after that she would wear get a tootsie pop and wear her tiara. For those 10 or so minutes we got to talk and in my world everything was right with the world nothing could be better her voice was so soothing it was like all my problems went away nothing could possibly better. I did discuss her logo with her as I have been looking at it and I am not sure if I find it satisfactory up above her name I am very satisified with it is a rip off of my logo but better her complete logo will debut soon.
She had to get to the stand and was going to the cyclone. I could still not ride on any slides. Can you see my problem on Tuesday I don't normally eat while in the middle of slide riding but it makes my family happy so I can do that. If they do not show up I stop on my way home at the Rancho Grande just off US30 in Dyer Indiana and get 2 tacos and a rice and eat at home. Although my favorite restaurant Sheffields which now has a location in Merrillville Indiana but the original is on Sheffield Street is Dyer has tacos for $1.00 every Tuesday so I would be tempted to go there also. I haven't had to make that decision yet this year though. I continued my walk around the park as not ready for any rides. I saw Dustin for season #13 near the action river. First time all year I have seen him guarding. I probably will just see him on Tuesdays nights since he does have another job but it is sure great to see him every year especially guarding. He is an inspiration to us all.
I stopped and saw Jessica who has her own apartment but unfortunately she nixed the story line that she had a party apartment with 8 very attractive females living there and then to raise money for the rent they have car washes. Wait that could be blue material and I shouldn't be working blue until after 9 p.m. Apparently Jessica is going to be pre med that is way to impressive. I continued the walk around the park and finally I was ready to go on the storm. Since there were not many people tonight I started with the vortex and when I got to the top how about that Lucy but she was less than impressed that this was stair 606 and I had been at the park since 5:44 I think it may have been around 8:00 p.m. now. Tuesdays sometimes are tough. I went on vortex, abyss, cyclone yes Stephanie was there just like she said. I have always had trouble sticking the landing on the cyclone but she was ok with that cyclone and abyss. Then to prove I have terrible hearing I could hear my name and that is it but Jessica had rotated over here and she wanted a tootsie pop too and I can take care of that.
"The Absolutely Stunning
would be able to get off the stand and get her tootsie pop so together we walked away from the storm boy how could this night get any better? Enter Joe Parker how about that he knows it is Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tuesday and he is pretty mobile so he can find me. He is now facilities Manager do you think he should gt an award for best manager this season as he hasn't appeared since he was dating Lyndsey IV I wonder what ever became of her appartently they are not still dating but he took a blue tootsie pop just like she liked. She claimed that meant she was number one. "The Absolutely Stunning
did agree to wear the tiara and this week I brought it in the box so it would not break. It was still wrapped up and she went about unwrapping it. It seemed to be well wrapped as she had some difficulty with it.
Now we are this side of the park which is not 100% ideal because in the story line she should sit on the chair above the action river surveying the land and since Joe his here she could make him kneel at her feet she does that to maintenance people and that would prove my point but let us work with what we have. You may know that I am the master of the Chair Shot. It is the best photo I take there is a chair by whitewater that is a high chair. I want a chair like that to put in my breezeway just imagine how nice it would be for me when the water park is closed to be able to sit in that chair. It doesn't need to be that specific chair there are a few around the park. Joe said he will talk to Sasha and see if he can get me one of those chairs then for sure I'd have to give him some sort of award. We moved over there. "The Absolutely Stunning
with tiara on her head wow did she look beautiful. Her hair was down it was flowing absolutely stunning. I counted to 7 and then took her picture. If the camera doesn't fail me this will be a spectacular shot.
I thought since I have Joe here who guaranteed me that I won't be thrown out of the park tonight could I get my picture taken with her? I asked her if she would be comfortable with that and told her if she is any part uncomfortable it is no problem. She did agree and we did have to move for traffic and we Joe counted to 3 and then he snapped the picture. You know I seldom appear on this site so that picture will probably never surface on this site. You never know though. If it comes out good it will probably find a prominent place in my home as I don't really have a nice recent picture to remind me of the waterpark. Joe did tell me when he looked through it was a bit foggy. That is not a good sign. I have melted cameras those waterproof ones. This one is not waterproof and that usually means water is getting in and as that view clouds up the film gets ruined. I have 5 pictures left to take before we see the results.
There could be no better end to this evening. This indeed was the best night of my life ever. There are days in my life that I always remember on October 28, 1994 I became Mark T. On February 2, 1995 I opened A+ Accounting Services 2 doors North of the Crown Theater in Crown Point Indiana. On June 29, 1999 I bought my home and now on June 19, 2007 I had the best night of my life all thanks to "THE Absolutely Stunning
The night however would not end there because I had 2 tootsie pops still in my hand to deliver and I had only climbed 862 stairs.
I did find Emily at wavepool river. "The Absolutely Stunning
asked if this tiara was hers to keep. I told her certainly it is since I really have no use for a tiara I am not going to wear one and she went off into the darkness of the night taking my heart with her but she seemed very happy and that made me happy. Emily sent me over to Becky at the wave pool. She wanted orange and I noticed her nail polish was orange and then I finally got back to Jessica who had not moved and she indicated that she would be there for the rest of the night.
I started where I left off on the vortex, vortex, abyss, cyclone, and cyclone making the stair count 1,182 and then I was ready to take "THE HIKE" because on my walk I did promise Dustin I would bring him a Tootsie Pop and he was on the other side of the park. I saw Lucy getting chairs back in order but now she is done for the week and won't be back until Monday that seems so far away and I am nearly certain I won't be back on Monday. The next 2 weeks are going to provide some challenges getting to the park so make sure you get there for me. I did find Dustin he had moved down the action river. I saw his 12 year pin. He did not know if he will be getting a 13 year pin but he definately should. I climbed the stairs to the red bowl slide and at the top I nearly slipped and fell into the little pool these stairs are so slippery when wet and they were just soaked tonight. I was told to be careful after I almost fell down. I don't know what else I can do. There was no lighting at the top and it is slippery so you shold be careful too. It was fun.
The last ride was the yellow bowl slide because that is where Dustin was and for 13 years he could get "The LAST RIDE" and tonight the stair count was 1,330 making the count for this season 30,546 leaving 79,454 stairs left to climb to reach the 110,000 stair goal. As I was departing there could have been no better end to the evening but to see "The Absolutely Stunning
she had made her way to this side of the park. I told her to have a wonderful evening. I'll be back in around 13 hours and tomorrow she will return at 11 a.m. I will spend most of my time away sleeping and probably dreaming of her.
It was 9:13 and 72 degrees when I left the park which means the park will reopen in 12 hours and 47 minutes at 10 a.m. and that is around when I return to play "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" but next week I can not play that game but I should appear at the park on Friday June 29 for one of the few Fridays I will appear and it has now been decided that is the day that "The Absolutely Stunning
will have her logo unveiled completely on this site. I will get to play "LET'S PRETEND THE DAY DIDN'T END" on July 3 leading up to can I still do it and will weather and crowds allow 4,000 stairs on the 4th of July. You too may be able to have the best day or night of your life by coming out to Deep River Waterpark which is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily summer will fly by so don't miss your chance to have some fun at Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.
