Demonic Intentions, Heavenly Intervention (Part Three)
***
As Kage's feet landed lightly on the ground just a few miles away from Himmel, Trowa patted the Draken thoughtfully as he got off. The Summoner looked around him, slightly pleased that the surrounding land was much brighter than the demon realms. He started forward, stopping and glancing down when his guadian nudged his hand, growling softly.
"What is it, Kage?" the brown-haired demon whispered.
In response, Kage growled again, lowering its head and flattening its ears against its skull. His tail remained still, fur bristled and wings folded at his sides. Green eyes widened as a strange creature headed towards them, plodding silently down the road. Consciously, Trowa moved out of the way, Kage noiselessly slipping into the nearby shadows of a tree.
The other beast stopped, tossing its head and snorting as it observed the startled demon, keen black eyes piercing. One of its great paws stamped the ground; paws which Trowa recognised to be that of a lion, yet longer in length so that it equalled the creature's hind legs; legs of a horse. Wings, black as the night were folded at its side and raising its feathered head, beak opened in a piercing cry which sounded a cross between an eagle and a horse's whinny.[1]
"How long are you going to gape?" A voice questioned, slightly amused by the other's reaction. The youth blinked, looking at where a rider usually would be.
He saw no one.
"Over here, on top of Hachi's head," the voice chirped, and obediently Trowa glanced in that direction. Black butterfly wings flittered as the faerie studied him.[2] Then, with a decisive nod, he flew over until he was hovering right in front of Trowa's visable eye. "I'm Gin."[3]
"........"
A small smile made its appearance on Gin's face as he fluttered closer to Trowa, before perching on his shoulder. None at all amused, the Summoner's visable eye glared at the faerie. Snuggling against his neck, tips of his surprisingly silky wings brushing against his ear, the demon heaved a sigh. "What do you want?"
"I wish to help you out, Master Barton."
"........"
"In repayment for that time you saved my twin's life from that crow."
Realisation struck him at Gin's soft words and he raised an eyebrow. "A year ago."
"I haven't been able to repay you yet. Now I can."
"How, pray tell?"
"Just trust me, Master Barton." Gin flew back over to Hachi, landing on its head once more. He whispered softly to the eagle-lion-horse creature, before lifting his voice, "Get on its back, Master. Hachi'll get you to Himmel much faster than walking could."
Slowly, the demon Summoner did as told.

"That's a load of bullshit!" the golden-eyed youth roared, glaring balefully at the young peasant.
Vier ignored his partner's outburst, looking seriously down at the child. "Thank you, lad. We'll be careful about what we say from now on. What is your name?"
"Ju," the boy replied slowly.[4]
"You better go home, Ju. Wouldn't want your parents worrying about you." The minute he couldn't see Ju anymore, Vier turned to Eine, green eyes reproachful. "You should watch what comes out of your mouth."
"Hn."
The area around them was now empty, nobody in sight and the two angels in disguise started towards the castle once more. Absently, the faired haired one commented, "Personally I don't blame Quatrina for leaving."[5]
"Maybe I shouldn't have, afterall." someone whuspered, "It seems as though Quatre only suffered more because I did."
"Quatrina?!" Eine faced the newcomer. "What are you doing here?"
A young woman stood before them, wearing a light sky blue tunic, and a midnight blue cloak over it. Raising her hood-covered head, eyes just a shade darker than her son's flashed. "I overheard your plans, Eine." Quatrina replied, "So I followed both you and Vier down to Himmel. I wish to help."
"Quatrina, this is not an easy task for one such as yourself. Besides, what if the King sees you? Or any of the peasants."
"I shall cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm going to help, Eine, Vier. Quatre is my son and I already failed him once."
With a resigned sigh, Eine nodded his agreement. "Alright, but don't get in the way." he stated gruffly.

"Quatre."
The blonde Prince looked up when his named was called, turning his head to the source. A small smile forced its way onto his pale features as Heero entered the room completely, closing the door behind him. Purposefully, he walked to Quatre, standing right in front of where the former sat on his bed.
"What do you want, Heero?" Quatre whispered, downcasting his eyes.
"I'm here to help you get out of here," Heero retorted, "Princess Iria, Callisto and Savan are distracting your father."[6]
Eyes raised, brightening somewhat, "What?"
"All twenty-nine of your sisters know you would never bring harm to nor attack anyone lest threatened. Thus they felt your punishment was unjust."
"What about the guard?"
"Knocked him out." the Commander shifted, "Now come, I need to get you away before your sisters run out of means of keeping you your father from checking on you." He gently pulled Quatre to his feet, pushing him over to the sole window in the room. Taking a brief moment to open the shutters, Heero inwardly thanked whomever that Quatre's room had a view.
Focusing on the task before him, Heero directed his sword's tip to the east, the blade catching the sun's beams. Slowly, but surely, he began to chant while the Prince could only watch out the window expectantly.
"Creature of the night."
"Creature of the day."
"I command you to show yourself."
"As holder of the Sword of Light."[7]
"Appear, Hikari!"[8]
A howl pierced the silence of Himmel, accompanied by a streak of lightning and thunder booming once. Golden wings kept the creature from falling to the ground below as equally golden eyes fixed on Quatre's. "Get on her, Quatre." Heero said, tensing a little, "Do so quickly, someone's coming."
Quickly the latter did as told, inching towards the front so that he could entwine his fingers in the pure white fur. "Aren't you coming?" the Prince cried to his friend and silently, Heero shook his head once.
"Don't worry about me, Quatre." he replied curtly, "I'll catch up with you and Hikari soon enough."
Hesitantly the other nodded, "Alright."
As soon as the word left his lips, the black-haired young man waved the wolf leave. Wings lifted both higher, and soon Hikari and her precious rider were out of sight. Heero resheathed his sword, whistling shrilly as the footsteps stopped right aside the bedroom doors. A horse's whinny caught his attention, and glancing down, he breathed a sigh of relief at seeing his black, gold-splashed stallion.
Alighting the windsill as the door opened, he jumped, landing squarely on the steed's back. Rubbing his rump thoughtfully, Heero lightly kicked the horse's sides. With another whinny, the two were off, oblivious to King Winner's furious shouts left behind.

A cry above them caught their attention. Raising their heads, Vier, Eine and Quatrina watched in shock as a large wolf with wings the color of sunshine dodged something smaller. Its howl sent shivers down their spines when a flash of color caught Quatrina's attention. She watched as the person riding the winged-creature let out a cry of his or her own.
"That's Quatre!" Vier said in surprise, gaping at the spectacle above them.
Eine's light blue brows furrowed, "That wolf is Heero's guardian, Hikari."
"What is Quatre doing, riding her? And where's Heero?" Vier murmured. He then raised his hand, eyes closing in concentration. He whispered something below his breath so that the other two couldn't hear what he was saying.
Quatrina's blue eyes widened in fear as Hikari howled again, Quatre's cry mingling with the wolf's. "He needs help!" she screamed as Hikari's wings fell aside and the two started falling to the ground.
At that instant, Vier's eyes opened as he cried out.
***
The black blur came from nowhere, and as it managed to get Hikari in her side, she howled, the single noise filled with rage and pain. She snarled, baring her teeth at the golden-haired, silver-eyed faerie, ears flattening against her head. The faerie attacked again, tiny blades made of leaves piercing suprisingly easily through the wolf's skin, marring her fur crimson.
Desperate to help his friend's animal companion, Quatre cried out as he brought out a small dagger from within the fabric of his clothes. He lashed it out at the small creature, managing to get a knick in its small arms. Black, red-jeweled butterfly wings flapped through the breeze, and Hikari howled once more as a small spear imbedded itself into her shoulderblade, while another was spiked through one of her wings.
At the same time, Quatre found his own weapon, small as it was, buried in his hand. Forcing back tears of pain, Quatre released his other hand from its death-grip on Hikari's fur to pull it out. The bloodied dagger fell to the ground, just as Hikari lost all suspension in the air. The faerie watched, eyes glinting with excitement as the Prince grabbed at Hikari's neck again, just as they started to fall.
Then, a cry rang throughout the area, "SHIELDS, CRUMBLE AND SET HIS TRUE SELF FREE!"

[1] This creature came about because of my mom. ^_^;; She asked me to draw an animal/creature with the hind feet of a horse, front feet of a lion's, wings and an eagle's head. So I also incorporated her idea into this fic.
[2] Hachi means 'eight' in Japanese.
[3] Gin means 'silver' in Japanese
[4] Ju means 'ten' in Japanese
[5] @_@ If the name Quatrina seems a bit cliche, please forgive me.
[6] -_-;; Sorry if the names of the princesses' got a little weird. Iria's an official name of one of Quatre's sisters, so I needn't worry about that. You try naming his remaining 28!!
[7] Heero, the Angel, possesses the Sword of Light, which is a lot like Wufei's in a way. Using it, not only can Heero summon his guardian, but he can also destroy demons.
[8] Hikari means 'light' in Japanese
.............CLIFFHANGER.............!! Mwahahahaha...*cough* Erm...I seem to like having my parts end like that lately. First Chibi Syndrome and now this fic. *sigh* *grin* Oh well. ^_^;; All feedback can be sent over to kitsune_atarashii@hotmail.com *or* inarisama@yahoo.com.
