About INCA

The Association has the following as its foremost aims and objectives
To promote cartographic research in the country
To foster cooperation among research institutions and quasi - government organizations and professional organizations of allied disciplines for the advancement of cartography
To collaborate with international organizations on similar lines
To take such measures as may help to secure for cartography its legitimate place in national life and
To strengthen among cartographers a sense of professional excellence
 

Founded on 7th August 1979 at Hyderabad, The Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA) has evolved into one of the biggest organizations of its kind in the world. From a modest beginning with 79 members on its role initially, today it is a grand body of 1700 Life Members and 56 reputed Institutions. It has Branches functioning at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bombay, Calcutta, Chandigarh, DehraDun, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur and Chennai. Another one is in offing in Trivandrum. INCA is devoted to cause of cartography as a graphic mode of communication. It has in its fold most eminent scholars, professionals and industrialists. The bulk of members hail from Survey of India, Universities and other Scientific and Research Institutes spread over whole of India.
