What it means to be a Pagan and a
Formulist
To be a formulist and a pagan, you follow the pagan
religion and you practice rituals, spells and hold belief in an Earth
centered existence in which value placed upon nature. You may develop a
coven consisting of other pagans, however you keep the secrets you hide
in the night, secret to nonbelievers. You do not profess your belief in
the hope that by realizing we are all one group and one race, the human
race, you can help stop the artificial divisions that exist in society
which result in terrorism, war and hatred. You believe paganism is the
perfect religion, yet you realize there may not be a perfect religion.
You also realize that any other religion has the potential to be the
perfect religion. You have respect for those religions and the people
who follow those religions. You follow the Wiccan Rede and you use the
the Formulist Formula which states "G=A+P(x)F-N" and "E=A+N(x)F-P"
or in English "Good=Action plus positive (or potentially positive)
effect minus obvious negative consequences." and "Evil=Action
plus negative (or potentially negative) effect minus obvious positive
consequences."
If ask about you religion you simply say Formulist and by doing so you
simultaneously prove that you are a formulist and avoid the cheapening
of Paganism which occurs when it is used to bring attention to oneself.
