Fairy Lights

Darkness shrouds
the rot

where black waters
thicken

mottled mosses
cover

marsh gases sputter
and ignite

exotic lamps of
fantasy

NIGHTSMAN
To Tell The Truth

It was I
that plucked
your flowers
from the bed

and know
you planted carefully
nursing
them from birth

I am sorry
they were beautiful
so vibrant
yet standing still.
