DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services)

Individual Advocacy Group, Inc. (IAG) provides intensive, individualized, treatment programming for children with a disability, and their families with the goal of prevvention of or return home from placement in restrictive settings such as group homes, residential or psychiatric hospitalizations. Services include intensive 1:1 support, individual and group therapy, expressive therapy, behavioral system analysis and development, and advocacy.

The IAG program provides children with a disability intensive, individualized supports for sustained integration in both home and community as well as personal supports for relationship building for the development of family ties leading to adoption and subsidized guardianship. IAG provides an individualized treatment program delivered in the home and community settings for children from 10 to 18 years old with developmental disabilities, mental illness, severe emotional disorders, brain injury, and/or juvenile sex offenders with residential and institutional placements or out of state residential/institutional placements.

The program plans are designed using a strength based, person-centered process resulting in consistent implementation of interventions in home, school and community settings in natural environments. All children are provided with treatment planning, individual 1:1 treatment interventions in natural settings, communication with all professional entities including professional reports, advocacy, crisis intervention, behavior programming, opportunities for personal expression in drama, art, and music and, as needed, therapy, such as individual, expressive, group and family, educational tutoring, and vocational supports.

TARGET POPULATION CATEGORIES ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES
High Risk - children referred by the Office of the Director of the Department of Children and Family Services, or by the Deputy Director of Clinical Services.

Children whose needs include immediate or emergency implementation of intensive-home services to maintain placement in the community based setting as an alternative to a residential or institutional placement with referral for services by the Director of Operations and Community Services (DCFS).

Children Referred to a Local Area Network for whom the LAN has determined that intensive specialized services and supports are necessary to meet individualized needs for (foster) home and community placement.
