GURUDWARA KIARA SAHIB is situated at a
distance of one and a half kilometers from Gurdwara Janam Asthan
(Nankana Sahib).
According to Janam Sakhi , Once Guru Nanak went to graze cattle, while
he was resting underneath a shady tree, the cattle went astray in the
fields of a farmer. On seeing this, the peasant got angry and made a
complaint to Rai Bular( Land lord of the village).
When Guru ji was ask, he said that nothing has happened instead the
field has been blessed by god. The Guru, while returning home just had a
kind look at the filed which turned green.
When Rai Bular went there, to his astonishment found that the whole
field was green and not a single crop was spoiled. This Gurdwara is
situated in that historical field.
After the partition of 1947, this Gurdwara came under the Pakistan Waqf
Board. The Gurdwara is opened at times when Sikh Jathas visit Pakistan
every year at four different occasions, The building is large but Sri Guru
Granth Sahib is not placed here.
