Based on the 100,000 inhabitants, the only thing that increased from 1998-1999 was the population. The violence, murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and larceny-theft all decreased.
Even with the population increasing from 5,942,901 (1999) – 6,080,485 (2000), the violence decreased. Along with that, the amount of murders, robberies, aggravated assaults, and burglaries went down. Every year Indiana improves in the rankings.
