My thoughts on Crash

“Couldn’t you come a little farther north?” *lol* Okay, how much did I love Max and Liz playing footsie under the table? Yep. And Kyle seemed insulted when Max started *lol And *what* are start, my friends! Just what was Liz doing down there? *evil grin*

I must say that this scene comes on the heels of my reading “The Forging of a Lifebond” by Tasyfa, which I do recommend if you’re old enough ;) Chapter 11 has some nice under-the-table action, which we’ll obviously never see on national television. So that little innocent (or maybe not so much… ) comment by Max had my mind going places it probably shouldn’t… but enough about me :D

After saying that “things couldn’t go back to the way they were” last week, Liz still took her “business” farther north. Max could be complaining about mixed signals, but it doesn’t seem to bother him :p It feels like we’re jumping ahead a bit, but after all, they had to cut 2 episodes at the last minute and most of it was probably already written (people blame the writers for a lot of stuff, but they had to have had some kind of plans for those episodes we’ll never see) so they had to condense stuff. If we had had those two episodes, I have a feeling that the Max and Liz relationship would “flow” better. (I’m not sure I’m explaining this right at all… forget it).

The rest of the Max and Liz stuff was consistent with them taking things slow. Which I normally wouldn’t mind, but there are only 2 episodes left. This “blush dreamer” turned “cement dreamer” sometime during the hiatus; we’re waiting! (tapping foot impatiently – but the grin is giving me away)

Kyle!! He got the best line, which is good because it was his only scene. Michael should have I’m sorry tattooed on his chest “Saves time, cuts stress” *lol*

Speaking of Michael, he really is not sorry, is he? Still a little “but *I* wanted to be King” resentment towards Max maybe?

It’s cool that Mr. Parker is true to his word and even has Max helping around the Crashdown. Yay!! Is the Crashdown really in that much financial trouble? Does it have to do with the fact Jeff didn’t get his deposit back last week? Will we ever find out? ;)

I think the alien ties were exactly where Jeff said they would be and Liz just wanted a little one-on-one time with Max. And no, I don’t blame her at all ;) Max is also true to his word, he’s curious about the spaceship but he has “more important concerns” which probably include getting Liz to stop being “cautious” and start fully trusting him again. Only 2 more episodes to wait. I don’t care how evil people say Jason Katims is. I refuse to believe he’ll do that to us (“that” being keeping Max and Liz apart when the show ends).

I'm with Michael (whoa, how often do I actually say that?;) ) when he says that Max is scared that he might find something about the crashed UFO. Notice how quickly Max said to leave it alone? He *knows* there's something out there, he knows it's about them, he may even suspect it has to do with his son (because come on, people, even without seeing next week's promo, who here didn't know who was on the spaceship?) He said last week that dying had changed him and he didn't want the responsibilities or the quest for his son anymore. His main concern right now is to rebuild things with Liz and he doesn't want his son to come and screw it up before they have something solid again. And they're not quite there yet.

Why can't Isabel just fix all the furniture that Max and Michael busted last week? It's not like she has to hide her powers from Jesse anymore. Oh, never mind me, I just hate shopping for furniture ;)

The guy at the press conference, the one working with the government (did he have a name?) seriously creeped me out at first. I was about ready to bet that he was an alien and I was afraid Max and Michael's little alien stunt (more on that in a minute) would fail because of it. He was human after all. Still creepy, though.

I misjudged Philip Evans. He always seemed like this great dad, you know, not really aware of what was going on in his kids' lives, not really paying attention (not recognizing that Lonnie wasn't Isabel, for instance) but someone who loved his kids very much. I wondered how this man could ever be a successful lawyer. I see it now. He had his lawyer face on when he was talking to Jesse. I don't like him so much anymore. I was worried he would expose his kids by talking to the wrong people. Now it looks like he wants to destroy them. "They're not who they say they are", "They gave us no choice, they forced us to do this". Hello?! You've known them since they were 6 YEARS OLD!! Of course they are who they say they are. They're just not telling you *all* they are. There's a nuance there ;) And besides, they are YOUR kids. You raised them. No matter "who they are", you are responsible for a very big part of who they've become. So there. I'm not talking to you anymore. Diane is not so keen on spying on the kids. I think she's wanted to know Max's secret for a long time, but she trusts him when he says it's not dangerous. She loves her kids, unlike some other parents. Mmph.

"So Isabel, how is Max?" "Oh, I think he's fine now that he's not dead anymore." "Come again, honey?" "I mean, he's studying for finals." Okay, so it didn't happen that way, but I still think it would have been funny :)

What does Max want to do when he graduates? Good question. It's not like being King of Antar pays the rent ;)

Double-fudge-brownies? Can I stay at the Evanses too? I'll sleep in Max's room. (Get your collective minds out of the gutter... he's not there, remember?)

What kind of mood am I in today? *evil grin* Must be all that talk of moving the business farther north. I suppose I'll get over it eventually. Yes, I hear you: "down girl"! Giggle.

Did you also get that commercial of the Snapple being abducted by aliens? Wasn't that the funniest thing? *lol* I heard that Snapple had already bought commercial air time for Season 4. Way to go UPN (sprinkle sarcasm over that comment).

What was it Max was talking about when Liz told him to stop pretending he didn't understand what was in the book? Oh, it doesn't really matter... Max and Liz are doing their homework together. Yay. :) Michael-interruptus this time. I guess that's what happens when you hang out with Maria too much ;)

"You should be slapped!" said Maria to Michael. This is how I feel about him most of the time ;) But in a good way. I like Michael, I really do. Is my favourite guy, after Max. And Kyle. And Ghost Alex. ;)

Michael wants to do the right thing. Points for him, which I might have to take away, as it is a bit dangerous and careless. Max seems willing to go along with Michael's plan. It probably has to do with how dying changed him because that *never* happens. "We might have to kill him [the little fish]". And you don't have a problem with that, Max? I'm just asking.

So the Army actually *has* the spaceship? Where are the aliens? Because, come on, we know who's in there. Is she mindwarping them into not seeing her?

That bit with Max and Michael playing the evil green aliens was priceless, from the tin foil capes to the helium. *LOL* Nice use of the shield and the spinning of the chair with a flick of Max's wrist. I was giggling all the way through, until Max said "Prepare the probe". That's when I fell on the floor laughing.

Ooohhh Max in uniform!!! Yummy!!! I was never one for men in uniforms. But Jason has a way of wearing them... yep. Yum. Need. More. Max. In. Uniform. Oh, I forgot to warn for heavy drooling. Sorry. ;)

My very favourite lines of the whole episode: "If there really is a spaceship, don't get on it". – "Not a chance in hell." So much is said with those two little sentences. It implies Max told Liz about how close he came to leaving her in Control (for a great fic on what would have happened if he had, check out "Between the Sand and Stone" by Kath7. It's great), it shows how Liz is still not trusting Max completely with her heart, and her reaction to his answer shows how much she *wants* to trust him with her heart again. Max is dead serious. He's made his decision and he just wants Liz to believe him again. Ahhhhh... Nice Dreamer moment if you ask me. Sigh. Okay, now, how about a good luck kiss? No? Darn ;) Okay, I'll settle for Max looking vaguely self-conscious when he puts on the hat. He's so adorable. Yeah, the drooling warning is still in effect.

I loved Michael's apology. Giggle.

I thought that Michael's face looked a little plastic when he was disguised as the creepy guy. They came up with a very realistic way to do this – I'm glad they didn't decide that suddenly Michael had the power to shapeshift. The disguise worked very well, Michael was even shorter than Max when he was wearing it ;)

I loved "Max as the soldier in charge". "Don't look at me!" Giggle. He does a better job at that then he does at trying to appear casual. Though he did keep his composure with Liz at the table. Max is becoming a better actor :) (I'm talking about "Max" of course, and not "Jason", who's always been a good actor).

I don't know what it was that Michael picked up at the army base, but I think he shouldn't have.

"Don't worry we've had practice." "Dying?" "Yeah, that too." Another scene that didn't happen but I would have loved to see. I'm having way too much fun with that whole Max was dead thing (Valerie looks around) And I might be the only one

"Don't you hate it when I'm right?" Michael said. "Yes," Max replied, "but to be clear I don't hate you." *lol* Why did he feel the need to point that out? He was afraid Michael would go all King again and try to kill him? ;)

I like it when Isabel is mad. She did that thing at school last season when she threw the guy on the floor with her powers. That was cool. I liked how she made all the stuff fly in her room. There are days when that power would come in handy :)

Philip Evans, if I was still talking to you, I would say that asking your wife to put a camera in your daughter's bedroom to spy on her is just really low. Argghhh. I loved the parents' reaction when they watched the video though. You wanted to know? Now deal with it.

Spoilers for next week if you haven't seen the promo

I was absolutely floored by next week's promo. Whoa. I knew the baby would be there (I saw the very adorable behind the scenes pictures of Jason holding the baby between takes) but I still want it to go away and be a mindwarp. And is it just me, or does he look vaguely alien? I mean, I know it's the point, but how do you go about casting the baby without insulting the parents by telling them their baby looks like an alien? *lol* Anyway, it looks like its mother. And yes, I realize I called it "it".

I really hope it's not some kind of editing trick used in the promo and that Liz really is using her newly (re)discovered alien powers to kick Tess's ass. That's my girl!!!

That's it for me today. Anyone?
