My thoughts on Cry Your Name
Hey all
Ok, second week in a row that the kleenex company is making money off me... what's up with that? :)
Being the queen of denial, I'll start with the happy stuff...
I just love how Michael and Max are friends again and can discuss movies like that. "You can't compare Keanu Reeves to Michelle Yeoh. I won't let you." was by far the funniest line of the night (not too many to compete with it, I agree). And it proves what I've always known, that there is a sense of humour hidden behind all that seriousness and responsible behaviour!
Looking for the silver lining, as always... I like that Liz went to Max because she didn't want to be alone. I love how she asked him to always be her friends. I love that he said he would. These are dark times for Dreamers but there's hope. Call me an optimist!
They're pretending (kidding only themselves, I'm sure!) that they are moving on because they both think it's what the other wants. Liz thinks that's what Max wants because he caught her with Kyle and is starting to remember Tess (or so it would seem. I'm still not totally convinced these memories are not "forced" on him. How convenient that Tess is the clearest memory, eh? But I'm not gonna go there – well, too late, but really, I'm not going there now!) Max thinks that's what Liz wants because of the signals she's been sending (Damn future Max!) but I think his apparent lack of emotion is due to the fact that he's pretending it's not hurting. He's putting on a brave face. He wants Liz to be happy, and he thinks that her happiness is being away from him now, so that's why he's letting go. (I hope this makes sense. I'm at work and I write this in little bits between budget evaluation and invoicing!)
Oh, and those of you who ever visited the Funniest Screencap thread at FF could not have missed the Mac&Cheese reference :)
I thought that the actor who played Alex's dad was very good. When he hugged Liz, he had the same expressions as Alex. I guess it's kinda hard to make us believe he is Alex's dad since so many of us know who Colin's dad is, but he pulled it off really well.
Oh, and would you look at that, they all had parents this week! ;)
I like how Michael was there for Maria, and how he was the voice of reason (at least at first) in the last argument. Isabel was right though, about college. It's not THEIR decision to make, though I still think she should have mentioned something sooner.
Poor Kyle, all that happening around his birthday. I was hoping for some funny Kyle stuff to cheer me up, but no luck. :(
Ok, I've been trying to avoid it, but I guess I can't run anymore. Alex is dead. *sob* Maria's "Amazing Grace" just did it for me. That and Isabel's second dream. Sobbing. A total mess.
I don't think it's suicide, though I don't blame Max and the Sheriff for believing so. I wish they'd put that file on silverhandprint.com! I think whomever killed Alex is trying to make it look like a suicide.
About his signature on the credit card receipt, was that some clue he left intentionally? I can't figure that part out. He would not have done it for no reason. It's just weird. It looks like a computer code. He was a bit of a computer geek. Maybe Brody could figure it out?
I have to agree with Liz that the aliens are the most likely suspects in a murder. I don't blame the aliens for reacting the way they did. Isabel already thought she was to blame, and Max thinks he's responsible if the school cafeteria runs out of Jello, so their first instinct is to deny everything. But I don't see who else would want to kill Alex. I don't think they were targeting Alex, they just wanted to kill someone close to the Royal Four. Too bad they missed Tess (oops, sorry, didn't mean to let that slip!)
The promo made it look as though Liz was directly blaming Max (which she wasn't really – misleading promos!!), but I can see why she would. Before Future Max made her change history, Alex lived to see his 19th birthday, at least, since he was at the party after M& L' s wedding.
So that's what I have for now... back to work now... (that's not fair. We should have at least a day to mourn Alex!!)
