My thoughts on "A Tale of Two Parties"

Okay. How much did I love this episode? We got Dreamer moments, Max and Maria's friendship back, Kyle praying to Buddha and even nice little moments for the in-crowd-er in me. Did you hear me giggle through the entire episode all the way where you are?

This one will definitely go down as one of my favourite Roswell episode ever. Nothing but pure fun. I wish my New Year's had been this much fun.

You could tell right away from the teaser that the promos were misleading. I mean, come on. Not that I believed them for a minute. (Well, maybe the Isabel and Kyle part. ;) )

Did Maria call Liz "Petunia"? And... why?

Kyle praying to Buddha was hilarious. In a spiritual kinda way ;) "It's been a dry couple of years. Kyle needs a woman. Kyle needs her tonight." I mean, what aren't the girls seeing in him? I want a guy like Kyle.

Dreamer moment number 1, Max and Liz on the balcony. "I'm a one-on-one kinda guy". Dreamer sigh. *Valerie looks around* What? It's been such a long time since we've seen them so happy and carefree together, and it never lasts very long, so I'm enjoying it while I can. So, repeat the Dreamer sigh. "I need more convincing." Add giggles to that sigh. "Somehow, some way, we'll make it happen." Little puddle of Valerie on the couch. This show makes me happy. Is there something wrong with that?

"Avoid New Year's Rocking Eve". So, what are you saying Max, that my New Year's eve was boring? *lol*

So when's the last time Max went to a party with strangers? Hmm... "Never" comes to mind. Unless Heatwave counts. Does Heatwave count?

Hey, look! It's Jim!! Yay!! Oh my, what in the heavens is that shirt?! But hey, it's Jim!! :)

Would you look at that. We have 3 cast members in school at the same time. Of course, it's waaaayyy after hours, but it should count for something, right? *lol* Mr. Seligman's class, that would be Bio 101. Way to go, Michael!! *lol*

"Hey, I know how to party." Yep, Max. Giggle.

Phone sex at midnight. Mmmm... Max and Liz planned to be together somehow, some way at midnight... No, I'm not thinking that Liz should have taken a cue from the nice old lady and made the New Year extra special  You can't prove that I was! That's one for the fanfics, anyway. Any takers? I don't write NC-17. *lol*

Could Max have looked more uncomfortable when that girl was sorta hitting on him at the party? *lol* I love that man.

Max goes to a party and there's nothing left to drink so Max makes more beer. I don't know (and far from me the idea of offending anyone) but doesn't this sound vaguely biblical to anyone else?

Michael, Michael, Michael. You should learn from your friend's mistakes. Aliens and alcohol do not mix. I'm very glad Max only had "this much" in Blind Date. As much fun as it was watching Michael float above Liz's bed like that, I would have really missed the sparkling parking meters. The lights on his face was cool, though. Not sure what it means, but I liked it.

Max mentioned that he had problems with his powers when he was drunk, which begs the question: how much of that night does he actually remember? I know it was over a year ago, but I just read this really great fic where Max admits he remembers everything that he told Liz he forgot. So I'm just curious.

Jeff and Jim have a little talk about Max. I could kiss Jim right now. I love you!!!!! "He's learned from his mistakes" – yep. "He really does love Liz" – you betcha. Yay! One more kiss and a hug for Jim Valenti!!!! And a little hug for Jeff for finally seeing the light. It's the holidays, after all. :)

Why does Michael always end up in Liz's bed when he's sick?

Awww... Kyle with the lovesick puppy dog look on his face. Sigh.

Max seemed a little suspicious of the whole Crashdown midnight thing. Like Jeff was gonna get him out front then shoot him or something. More giggles. That whole scene was great. (Made up for my New Year's Eve Midnight. We had some technical difficulties and started the new year a couple of minutes late. Oh well. Let's just pretend we were in our very own little time zone.)

Warning, dreamer gushing ahead: How perfect do Max and Liz look together? Sigh. Him with his arms around her like that, they truly look like they were designed to be together. Sigh. *Valerie looks around again* I think that all that chocolate I've been eating mixed with all the Dreamer fics I've been reading finally got to my brain. *Sheepish smile* But hey, there *was* a warning.

Aww, poor Kyle. You were the last to know, buddy. Well, okay, maybe not. I'm not sure Isabel knows either. "Don't be a complete idiot". I'm sad for Kyle now. We need to find Kyle a great girl. Isabel would do. I like Kyle a whole lot more than Jesse.

Speaking of Jesse, we hardly saw him. That's not a bad thing. It's not a good thing either, and that's the whole point. It's a "whatever" thing. Do anyone really, and I mean *really* care about Jesse? I know we're kinda supposed to, but I still don't. I don't think he's out to get them anymore, which is an improvement of sorts I guess, but whether he's there or not makes no difference to me. He's officially the only Roswell character I couldn't care less about. Sad, really.

"Max Evans, going to a party? Riiight!!" More giggles. This is absolutely hilarious to me, because I often get the same reaction from people. And, like Max, I do know how to party, okay? I swear I do. Giggles. We're just not as comfortable at it as, say, Maria. *lol*

One of the things I love most about Max is his complete inability to look casual or inconspicuous when he's trying to be, so when he and Maria ran to the car trying not to let the others know they'd figured out Enigma, I was on the floor. Surely they can't top this, I said to myself.

And I was proven wrong when they walked (or should I say stumbled) in the Crashdown. My God. LOL What *was* that song? And I love, I *love*, I LOVE to see Max happy and smiling and carefree and having a great time. I love it!!! Or did I already mention that? Heh heh. See, I'm happy again. Happy Max makes me happy, and I ask you again, what is wrong with that?

That's it for me. I hope all of you had a nice and safe holiday and I wish you all the best for 2002. Everything your little hearts may desire.
